Nearly Dead

Lunar New Years patch

Smelting process

Several processes have been added between this short interval patch. Now collect scrap metal from the abandoned town and have better facilities and equipment!

  • By following the steps from Scrap metal -> Metal chunk -> Iron bar, you can now craft the tools and weapons that you previously had to obtain from Abandoned Places. We may expand these steps in the future.

  • New tool levels, Metalworking and Anvil, have been added.

  • Added Charcoal pile, Scrap Furnace, Iron Furnace, Anvil, Metalworking Tool, and Forge Hammer.

  • With this update, there were a bit of changes to existing items and recipes. As these are not confirmed elements, the required materials may be changed in the future.

Check out this preview video if you want to know how the refining process works in Nearly Dead.

※We thank the Snipercup who inspired us with his mods.

New Area - Construction Site

Its existence has been around for a long time as a dummy file, but it took quite a while before it appeared. With a low probability of replacing existing buildings in town terrain, this is a good place for you to get building materials.

Added Interval Action concept

In ND, to obtain something new item or material, you can only get it by working directly for now, such as a crafting.

By introducing the concept of Interval action, we introduced a system that puts an object's charge or item and exchanges it for a new charge or item at regular intervals. This mechanism made you need to build that specific facility to get an item - for example, a Scrap furnace.

You can specify those elements directly on the objects in Modding tool.

* In addition, there were bug fixes, sound improvements, and item drop table changes.

Prison and Shock-Weapons Update

Recharging System

A battery for charging power has been added.

Capable of fast charging with power in the form of yellow semi-solid jelly, these disposable batteries can be found all over town, especially in the civilian houses.

Batteries can be produced by generators by consuming electric power. Even if it's not that efficient.

Of course, charging directly also possible in portable generators.

New enemies

4 new enemies have been added:

1. Quad-Legged Drone (Baton / Guard): A mobile drone for suppression of emergency situations in prison and alert. There are two variations: the Baton, using an electric shock pole and the Guard, using a stun gun.

2. Light Sentry Turret: A fixed turret that fires 22.LR bullets in 4 bursts. If it uses all of its bullets, it can no longer attack.

3. Zombie Jailer: A prison warden who has turned into a zombie while wearing powered riot armor. While being united with the powered riot armor, the damage on riot armor becomes severe and now they attack with the electricity from a short circuit.

New Weapons

Four new electronic devices have been added:

1. Shock Pole: The electric club, which is difficult for humans to use, has been converted into a weapon with a good range. Without power, it's nothing more than a simple staff, but if it's turned on, it will make a powerful electrical melee attack.

2. Stun Gun: A long-range weapon that fires electrical energy and exerts a suppression electric shock. The output is weak because it is only suppression equipment.

3. Shock Gun: A long-range weapon that has increased its power through modification to strengthen the output of the stun gun.

4. Powered Riot Armor: A power armor to assist the wearer's power. It amplifies the wearer's strength during activation, but When it is not activated, it is rather disturbing to the wearer.

Etc.

Survivors now do not have to walk for a long time when traveling long distances. This is because the boredom of moving long distances can be omitted.

Previously, it was inconvenient to travel long distances, so the distance between villages had to be narrowed. As a result, there were so many items. And with the abundance of supplies, it was easy for the survivors to live a rich life.

But not anymore.

Because it became easier to travel a long distance, the distance between villages was adjusted and the goods were less. As you travel a lot of distance, you will consume a lot of food.

New training has been added.
Miscellaneous bug fixes, item table redistribution, and AI logic changes.

Nearly Dead Modding tool Introduction/Distribute

Thank you for waiting for us.

Nearly Dead officially supports modding, and we prepared tools, assets, and steam workshop to share it. However, since the Modding tool of Nearly Dead currently deployed is not an independent launcher format, Unity Hub and Unity Editor are required.

Modding tools are being distributed through the Google Drive link on the Korean Fandom Wiki of Nearly Dead. The latest version of the Modding tool is linked on the bottom with (최신 버전) on end. We will prepare the English page as soon as possible.
