We went over the major new additions for the future patch – from new quests and endings to revamped UIs and Quality of Life features. Now we cover some less visually enticing but still important aspects, mainly optimizations and some minor changes.
faster processing for navigation and pathfinding;
speech bubbles have been refactored to allow a few features;
improved lip-syncing and text parsing;
faster loading times for scenes;
some minor lighting effects;
and a handful of continuity fixes.
Did we remove the countdown? No, that one stays. Did we make the game more trolly? You bet we did! Did we fix some of the bugs at least? What's a "bug"?
This will be the last post-DEV LOG for a while. The next will likely be the announcement of the release date for the v1.5 patch. Right now we are mostly finishing the missing parts, a bit of polishing and soon we'll enter the beta testing.
We might sporadically do smaller posts.
Post DEV LOG 08
Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze has a few branching paths in the story, and some actions you do in the game will end up in one of the 14 endings and their variants.
In the upcoming v1.50 patch at least two new endings will be added. One will depend on the mood of Noeroze, and the other one will involve Nefasto's lost game. For those who already did one of the ABC endings probably will understand what lost game we're talking about here.
A few minor subplots will also be added.
Post DEV LOG 07
Nothing fancy to showcase for this week. Just one of the flourishes that will be present in the v1.50 that we didn't manage to put in the original release of Nefasto's Misadventure : Meeting Noeroze.
The Central Unit and some other location were missing some random NPCs to make the System feel more lived in. They represent instructions sent to the processor from other components. They are passersby and don't carry any insightful dialogue. Though a special NPC can spawn and maybe with something to say.
The other flourishes are minor animations tweaking and added dialogues.
Post DEV LOG 06
New quests have been added to the upcoming v1.50 update for Nefasto's Misadventure : Meeting Noeroze.
Doctor Watson is about to have a breakthrough in medical history, and is in dire need of assistants.
FDX has a packet for an ominous recipient lurking in the shadows. Find him for her.
Help Alexander Alphonse Marie de Monospace embrace his true identity.
Break the mystery behind a heinous theft.
And more...
These will be given as usual by FDX. She also has a new little icon that notifies how many missions still need to be done.
Post DEV LOG 05
What kind of business?
A Cheat Business of course!
Glitch loves the good ol' Blue Screen of Death, or any other error screen for that matter. He watched Nefasto failing so many times, and listened with glee to the cries of the unamused users reverberating in the CPU. But he realized that eventually players filled with determination become more cautious about bad decisions made in the name of science. Crashes happen less often and that's a bummer for Glitch. So he decided to branch out in the v1.50 of Nefasto's Misadventure : Meeting Noeroze.
After your first Game Over, Glitch will offer his services – to be more precise, he will find loopholes that will make those services happen, but *shush* ...
Want to stop the Countdown and sail through the System without any pressure? Half time penalties and double time rewards for better dopamine assimilation? Summon a hard-to-find byte to duel? Avoid a Game Over once? Or un-fail the 24-hours quest? Glitch will monkey-paw that wish with the fair price of a handful of Golden RAM tickets and some of your precious time.
Don't have Noeroze around though. She may not see you in a good light after that.
Post DEV LOG 04
To complement Noeroze's logs, Glitch's free but cryptic hints and Tutorial Man's Golden RAM Tickets, another little helper is coming in Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze for new players.
Meet U03C6‑5H1N, a butterfly-looking character that you will meet right at the start of the adventure.
Bullied, profiled and discriminated by the Bytes, it only wants to be recognized as a data like everyone else. It aims to unlock its true potential in a failing System. Perky, sensitive and eager to help, maybe a bit overbearing at times, U03C6‑5H1N will check all the boxes of whoever needs directions from start to finish without having to leave the yellow painted path.
You can follow this helper who will bring Nefasto where it wants you to be.
Post DEV LOG 03
Nothing fancy, really. You press and hold the Skip Button, and the game fast forwards to the end of a cutscene. Skipping is possible after you watched that whole cutscene once.
Keep in mind that the countdown will fast forward as well. So, no, you won't be able to cheese it by skipping the long-winded cutscenes specially designed to waste your precious in-game time. Unless you use some very obscure tricks.
Also, the characters know when you skip. So there's a chance they may troll you in some way. Keep your attention sharp!

DEV LOG 01
We'll begin by presenting this revamp for the Options menu. Where you could switch between Mouse and Gamepad has its own tab, with added details of the attached action for each of the buttons while playing either Nefasto or Noeroze. Most of them are unlocked while progressing throughout the game.
One feature for the Mouse playstyle is the possibility to choose what input makes Nefasto jump. By default, it's a double left-click. Two more inputs are added: the third button of the mouse and the Space Bar. The players who have a rather twitchy finger during the more stressful parts of the game will appreciate.
DEV LOG 02
The new feature presented in this video is time travel!
Yes. The old popular narrative trick (second to aliens) once used by creatively-bankrupt-executives-who-took-over-the-writing-process-with-the-belief-it-will-garner-new-interest-from-viewers-allegedly-growing-bored-of-the-show-after-the-fifth-season-and-not-because-they-replaced-the-original-writers-with-subpar-but-obedient-ones will be a new mechanic in the upcoming v1.50 update for Nefasto's Misadventure : Meeting Noeroze.
More specifically it's a mechanic that will allow players to jump between plot points on the story tree. Once in the Log Cave, at the plot progression section, you will meet a new byte. She will only appear if you did at least one ending. Her function is to help you navigate through the story and try new paths without going through the game from the start. The story tree will show you the nodes you can travel to, unlocked on a previous playthrough. Everything (items, powers, time, sub-event flags,...) will be how it was when you passed that point. Hence time travel.
In the case you choose the wrong plot point, an autosave is done before you do the jump. You only need to load that save file to come back at the Log Cave, assuming you won't overwrite it on accident.
It was a tricky feature to implement. The game has to remember all the little things you do and how they affect the story down the line. For those who played Nefasto's Misadventure : Meeting Noeroze from start to finish prior to v1.50, time travel will still be possible without replaying the game. You will be sent to a "clean" timeline though.
There will be more reveals for V1.5 in future posts.
Patch 1.10
This patch fixes many small bugs and glitches that have been reported to us in Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze.
It includes fixes for:
weird positioning and behaviour of characters;
occasional wait-lags during boss fights when many events happen at once;
missing hidden interactions;
obscure continuity errors;
a camera misplacement that can happen during END C;
other visual glitches.
One major one was some achievements and endings not being correctly saved. For the affected players, any missing ones will now be unlocked automatically at the start of the game.
Concerning a very specific issue... If you get a Game Over at the bird event during the second phase of the final boss, the key interaction point - for those who are in the know - is now reset correctly allowing for the True Ending to still be possible. This should alleviate some confusion for anyone playing that route and surprised they couldn't get the aforementioned ending.
If you encounter any bugs or problems of any kind during your game, you can report them to us at our official Discord Server
To finish this post, we are working on Update 1.50 with new added content like new quests, Quality of Life features, new events, and more...
Hope to see you back on the game!
Patch 1.04
Thank you for everyone who has been playing Nefasto's Misadventure - Meeting Noeroze! We are happy to see the good reception the game has so far, without excluding the occasional ragers.
This first patch brings small fixes. Most of them involve weird graphical behaviour with ultra wide screens. Some small continuity errors and typos that escaped us have been ironed out.
We were made aware of an unfortunate issue with the hints, using the Golden RAM Tickets, during the Pixel Code quest. There's a specific order of sequence during that quest that can result to a wrong hint returned, leading any stuck player to an incorrect path for solving some of the puzzles. This patch should fix this. Apologies for making that quest as difficult as the Hard Mode route because of that bug. Kudos to the players who managed it through regardless. As for those who wasted their Golden Ticket, we hope you used Save Scumming to get it back.
As a closing message, the game has an official Discord Server and we invite you there if you are stuck on an particular part of the game, notice an issue and to simply hang out.
