DD#133 Everything Is Perfectly Normal in Marinas
Hi, everyone! Welcome to another week's developer's diary which is perfectly normal.
This week's development is mainly in the seaside town known as Marinas. Everything is perfectly normal. You may have heard about some strange rumors from random townfolks. They may tell you about a strange girl on the beach. They may tell you about a haunted lighthouse. They may tell you about the monsters from the sea. But, don't be alarmed, everything is perfectly normal in this town.
Let's go down to some details of this week's development of this perfectly normal town. The town has a perfectly normal blacksmith's shop where you can find, a friendly young apprentice selling you some useful tools, some smiters, and a 3D printer to craft items. It's perfectly normal to have a 3D printer in a blacksmith's shop.
A bit to the east, there is a hospital. You may find a perfectly normal doctor treating patients with a perfectly normal method that can restore your health without going through complex procedures. Such a method has been well-proved even in some other well-known RPGs in the world, such as Skyrim and Fallout 4. Thus, it's perfectly normal for a doctor to use such treatment on his patients.
To the south, we can arrive at the Dock of Marinas. It's perfectly normal for a seaside town to have a dock. And it's also perfectly normal to have a lighthouse nearby. Don't mind all the screams you may hear and all the ruined furniture you may find inside. It's perfectly normal for a lighthouse. Those dead bodies are perfectly normal. Those huge spiders are perfectly normal. And as some of you that can see them have noticed, the shade creatures inside are perfectly normal, too. To ensure everything is perfectly normal, someone left you a perfectly normal note on the wall with a topic that matches the lighthouse perfectly and that's because everything is perfectly normal.
A fact about the dock is it's very close to the sea. And the sea contains a lot of chemicals known as "Dihydrogen Monoxide." It's also perfectly normal that things will become "wet" if they contact with "Dihydrogen Monoxide." Even though, it can cause massive death if people breath in too much of such chemicals. It's perfectly normal that people enjoy drinking such chemicals like their life is depending on it. Some may even enjoy bathing their bodies inside such chemicals. Just like that, people can become "wet" quite easily. Perfectly normally, they become a bit more resilient to fire. Unfortunately, they also become a bit more vulnerable to thunder and ice. Subsequently, you may not want your teammate to be "wet" in a cold environment. It's perfectly normal to throw a fireball at them to fix this condition. I learned this from Baldur's Gate 3 recently. Thus, it shall be perfectly normal.
On your way back from the lighthouse, you may find a perfectly normal girl collecting shells on the beach and selling them to tourists to raise funds for charity. Her name is Yayoi and she is perfectly normal. She has a perfectly normal combat-ready animation. She also has a perfectly normal attack animation. You may find her chest nearby. Perfectly normally you may want to pick the lock of her chest just like all heroes in classical RPGs, especially JRPGs do without considering the feelings of the owner of the chest. Now as we are talking about RPGs, it's perfectly normal for an RPG to have RPGs in the game. Thus, RPGs have been added to the game as a new kind of firearm. Now, where were we? Oh, the chest. Yes, you can of course find an RPG and some missiles inside as well. Because it's perfectly normal for a girl to have an RPG for self-defense. Just like this:

DD#132 The Day We Count Three
Hi, everyone, welcome to another week's developer's diary.
As planned, the main story quest "Lost in the Sand" is completed. After you talk to Captain Nameless, he will give you a quick rundown of your previous choices and their immediate impact. Based on those choices, you may get various rewards such as attribution points and exp. You can also get Harold as a permanent teammate to join your future adventure. That concludes chapter two of the main story.
As mentioned before, the game's price on Steam shall increase after the completion of each main story chapter so that all existing players can find not just gain more and more game content but also increase our Steam account value. Just like the last time, the price increases will take place at least one month after this developer's dairy. Before that, there will be one more sale just like we did last year when the first chapter of the game was completed.
A bit more details on certain regions: The regional price of Ukraine will not increase and will stay as low as possible because the war is still going on. The regional price of Argentina and Turkey may have a significant increase because Steam seems increased the "suggested price" in those regions. Any feedback on the price change is welcome as the action will only take place one month later and I intend to make this as transparent as possible.
Now, it's time to count three for the new chapter. It starts with the new main story mission "The Anomalous Nation," taking place in the Nise Federation, an archipelago nation that suddenly appeared in this world's reality in 2004. If you have played SAPC++, you may already have some clues about what happened. However, that is not required. During the story, you will find out the truth behind this event. This is also the third time we return to the "Stone Age." Well, it's just not that Stone Age anymore. Thousands of years have passed. Or, is this actually thousands of years before that will happen? Anyway, it's the story of another time and space. It may be the end. It may be the ouroboros. Only one thing is certain, that is we are still moving forward in this timeline.
As the first stop in the new chapter, you will travel to Marinas via the trains of the Wonderland Travel Agency. (That's also the reason that we got a lot of updates about the Wonderland Travel Agency before this part of the story is revealed even though the random map generator is not necessarily directly linked to the story content. :D )
The development of Marinas is still underway. It certainly no longer looks like what it was in that online game or previous iterations of this world. It's something new with its own population system that you can find townfolks move on in their own life agenda just like that is implemented in Liu. It has its own map style. And, it cannot be called a fishing town if you cannot buy relatively cheap fish there. Thus, it may be a good idea to buy a lot of fish and then sell that to the sushi bar in Liu to make some profits. You can also find it's quite easy to get seawater in Marinas.
That concludes the big picture of what is going on in the game right now. But we also got some other changes this week. For example, all Bosses in randomly generated locations will now drop a golden chest after you defeat them. You will receive at least a set of Butterfly Wings and a "+2" quality weapon from the chest so that no boss is too mean in their loots. The overall goal is to make defeating Bosses more rewarding while also eliminating the inconvenience of backtracking your steps after defeating them in some cases. To make things more fun, you can even take the chest itself. You can use it as container-type furniture or just melt it for gold. :)
That's for this week. But, unfortunately, something else also counted three this week. That is the Baldur's Gate. The full release of Baldur's Gate is slowing down the development of our game because I failed a dice check to resist the temptation of playing it. But, look on the good side, maybe I will steal some ideas from it and port them into ours. :P
