Monsters populate the dungeons of Neon Abyss and you'll have to shoot, slash and blow them away to progress in your runs.
Once you enter a dungeon room populated with enemies, you'll be locked in that room until every monster has been annihilated!
Some monsters have more difficult versions as you progress through the dungeons, each progressed type will often have more advanced abilities - new attacks, teleportation and more!
Here's a couple of sets as examples:
(Mages)
(Dancers)
There are many more effects and powers that enemies will use to cut your run short, one of the best ways to see them is in the challenge room with waves of enemies:
There's lots more enemies and effects to discover! Play the free demo yourself to find many of them or follow our socials to get an early look at some of them you'll find in the full version!
Thanks for reading this spotlight, we hope you will look forward to the next one!
Today we are showing off some the weapons you'll pick up to blast, beam and even bounce projectiles at your enemies with in Neon Abyss!
Weapons in Neon Abyss are unique in themselves, having shotguns, grenade launchers and even beam weapons. Though pick-ups will give your weapons alternate effects - faster fire rates, extra projectiles and more.
Some weapons will also give you abilities that you can use to help you battle your way further into the dungeon.
Here's a spotlight of several weapons that have been picked up in the Abyss so far:
Whip your enemies into shape with this beam weapon!
Take a chance with this weapon that fires random magical projectiles.
Have a blast with this multi-missile homing launcher!
That's all for this spotlight, thanks for reading, we hope you look forward to using some of these weapons in the full version that you haven't seen in the demo dungeons!

Feature Spotlight - Everything Bosses!
Hey everyone,
Today we are showing off the bosses you'll battle in Neon Abyss! Each boss is a challenge but there's a few ways bosses can change as you get further through a dungeon run and as you start to evolve your dungeons.
Double Trouble
Each of the normal bosses have two versions, one for the earlier levels in your dungeon runs and then there’s the chance to battle their more challenging counterpart in the later levels.
Managers
Managers are particularly tough bosses that inhabit rooms at the end of a dungeon run. As you progress through the game and unlock more of these managers, you will be able to go through more levels on each run. Further managers will guard the next tier of these extra levels.
Upgrades and Items
Bosses are guaranteed to drop upgrades for you, your weapons and health to help face the next harder levels in the dungeon. Plus - will make you look more flashy!
That's all for this spotlight, thanks for reading, we hope you look forward to battling some of these bosses in the full version that you haven't seen in the demo dungeons!
Today we are showing off the dungeon progression in Neon Abyss! The dungeons will evolve as you play the game so that every dive into the abyss is unique.
How
To evolve your dungeon, you will need to collect tokens, these are dropped by defeating bosses and can be used at the bar to purchase: items, playable characters, extra bosses, extra dungeon rooms and even mini games to appear in your runs!
Trial Your New Toys
When you first unlock an item, for the first dungeon run directly after, you’ll be able to start with it as a trial. Be sure to make the most of these, as next time you’ll have to search for them!
Mini Games
Unlock challenging mini games that can reward your less violent talents in the dungeon. Including this tough rhythmic piano game.
New Bosses
Even unlock new bosses to extend your dungeon runs!
The Neon Abyss free Steam demo has now been enhanced! Not heard of Neon Abyss? Well - it's a frantic roguelike that lets you run and gun your way through an ever-evolving dungeon.

New Modes
The demo is now split into two modes, firstly there is “Demo Mode” which you can crawl through 4 levels at your own pace.
The second mode is “Time Rush” which has 6 levels and a 20 minute time limit. Challenge yourself to run against the clock at a chance to get further into the dungeons!
Bug Fixes
We have also fixed several issues people were experiencing, including:
Slot machine door crashing the server on use.
Unable to fire weapon bug
Minor bugs
Please let us know if you come across any other issues.
We hope you've been having a blast run 'n' gunning your way through the demo's dungeons!
In the demo you will have been playing Wade. Today we take a look at each of the unlockable characters which makes the start of each dungeon run unique.
Matt
Matt can dodge roll which evades incoming enemy projectiles whilst rolling you where you want to go.
James
One weapon isn't enough for James and playing them allows you to carry two weapons at once!
Zack
Zack loves his knives and is able to stab even when an enemy is out of his melee range.
Lucas
If you like explosions, you will like Lucas. He will let you place mines on a whim but watch out they have a random fuse timer.
Ming
Hatch them all with Ming! Start your run with two eggs plus have an increased hatch success rate with this character!
David
Items can be found in high places and David can get you there by inflating a balloon to achieve the power of flight. However, this flight is costly as you will have to pay 3 crystals to use this once in a room!
That is all of the characters we will be showing off today. We hope you are all looking forward to the release and are still having fun with the demo. Watch out for another spotlight next week here on steam.
The time has come to dive into the Neon Abyss free Steam demo. Not heard of Neon Abyss? Well - it's a frantic roguelike that lets you run and gun your way through an ever evolving dungeon.

In the demo you will shoot lasers, collect pets, find sweet loot and even dance!
Each dungeon is randomly generated so every run you make will be different!
The demo also has different time limits for each difficulty:
15 minutes for easy
18 minutes for normal
24 minutes for hard
The more you play and get better - the more time you will have to crawl the dungeons of Neon Abyss!
You will encounter many eggs whilst traversing the Neon Abyss which on pick-up will follow behind you in the air. Today I will shed light on what they do and why you should try to collect them all!
Where to find them?
To collect eggs you will need to search the depths of the Neon Abyss. You can either pick-up the eggs from chests, loot rooms, the store or egg dispensers! All you need to do is walk over them and they will automatically add to a growing train of eggs and pets behind you.
Hatch them all!
Always check your eggs before buying them! Eggs need to hatch before they can blossom into a useful pet but they also have a chance to fail! There are ways to help ensure your egg turns into a pet - these include item pick-ups and even an unlockable character who will increase your hatch rate.
What can pets do for me?
Your pets have a huge variety of useful effects, some are very direct: shooting at enemies, blocking incoming shots and even collecting items for you! There are other more elaborate effects like turning spare hearts into shields however, I’ll leave discovering all of those for when you can traverse the Neon Abyss!
Evolve your pets!
Your pets will evolve as you battle your way through the rooms of the Neon Abyss. They will get both an upgrade to their appearance alongside more powerful effects like shooting double the amount of projectiles.
That is it for today's spotlight! Next week we will have some exciting news to share with you and a steam spotlight to accompany it!
Collect them all soon! Until then join the conversation on Neon Abyss here:
