It's taken a while, but finally ready to announce that Neon Noodles has a release date of August 3rd!
Please remember to leave a review, that would be really helpful :)
Updated the store page with a new trailer too, with dark vibes from the story, and some new screenshots too.
Exciting times ahead!

Neon Noodles #13 - The Charred Update
As the name suggests, this is a "burn everything" kind of update, lots of big changes!! Unfortunately, it's also a complete score-wipe, save-reset, progression-clean kind of update.
The big news here is that this makes Neon Noodles complete "content-wise" (though not quite "feature-wise" yet). Read on.
All the levels, mechanics, tools, and the story (missing the end for now) are now in the game. Everything else that remains is tagged under Quality of Life (see Roadmap Steam post for more details).
Here's everything that changed:
breaking changes progression/saves/metrics/recipes, so complete scores/saves/progression wipe!
finalized level progression, lots more levels, easily 2x play time compared to before
many more yummy foods from everywhere
story (without ending)
updated Steam page description to be in line with the story
teleport tweaks
station priority/double use error improvements
video tutorials for mouse/controller
portraits
icons refresh, and lot more icons for all the new foods
behind-the-scenes housekeeping (saves/validation)
larger play area mid-late game
proper story-only entries in the companion
an assortment of bug fixes
optional auto-padding in late game
drag to move
finalized metrics
greatly expanded automated test coverage, especially around double use
I hope you enjoy it :) As always, feedback here or in the discord is always welcome.

Neon Noodles #13 - The Neon Update
Beta branch has now been retired, as the new tutorial is fully functional.
Major update covering the following:
Neon-ification pass - for companion and all 5 locations:
New tutorial implemented with proper videos up until level 10, more coming soon
New multi-input (of the same kind) and multi-output recipes
New conveyor belt mechanics - auto-feed and filtering
Important: this update is currently on the beta branch only!
This is quite a significant update, but some things are not finalized, so it only goes into the beta branch on Steam for now.
Here are the major changes:
Completely new implementation of the Instructions Timeline:
Visual changes (fits with the rest of the UI)
Infinite timeline during playback
Universal (*) action get displayed and resolved differently during playback
Consistent performance regardless of program size, and a significant improvement to overall performance
Improved display of linked bot details
New visuals and layout changes for the layout menu (placing down bots and stations) - bot icons are placeholder
Changed recipe window icons to match new timeline approach
New wireframe during level transitions.
New font and UI pass to accommodate it.
New companion tab icons
Here's how the "scanline" transition looks now with the wireframe:
And a few screenshots showing the new timeline, layout menu, recipes window changes and the new font:
Neon Noodles #11 - The Companion Update
Important: this update is currently on the beta branch only!
This is quite a significant update, but some things are not finalized, so it only goes into the beta branch on Steam for now.
Here are the major changes:
Completely new Companion - this covers all the "non-game" part of the game, and it sets the stage for how the story will be delivered too.
Full mouse, controller and keyboard support for the companion
Dynamic color change based on level
New tutorial - this is a video-based approach, vaguely inspired by Frostpunk.
New levels/introduction to key concepts
A read/unread flag for all of the tutorial entries
Tutorial entries available for later viewing in the Companion
Level start transitions - a "scanline" approach to fading the levels in that provides depth, while being very performance focused
Performance improvements - some of this was for the new stuff, but lots of work went into performance. Timeline performance still needs addressing, but that's a bigger piece for a future update.
Some UI/look changes and working towards eventual consistency and what buttons are and how they behave across the entire game.
All music is now back into the game (currently just randomized, not location-specific)
Lots of other small changes, including shadows/lighting improvements, bugfixes, etc.
Here's an example on how the "scanline" transition looks for the Asian location:
And a poorly compressed gif of the companion showing the perspective and color change:
Small bugfixes patch
A few tweaks and bugfixes around level selection and the tutorial. Also updated a few of the similarly looking icons to be less confusing.
