This is the first post-release update to Neptune Flux! This update adds a new in-game settings menu and a significant performance boost for VR.
Changes
Added an options menu that's accessible in-game. Here are the options added in this update:
Invert-Y - Flip the up and down "pitch" axis for mouse and gamepad controls.
Brightness - Increase or decrease the brightness of the screen.
Volume controls - Independently adjust the volume of sound effects, dialogue, and music.
Redesigned the look of the sonar effect for better image clarity and performance.
Switched to single-pass stereo in VR, which improves performance while using a VR headset by roughly 50%.
Lowered the sonar and engine sounds in the default audio mix.
Particle noise has been added in some areas to create more dynamic effects.

This is the final update to Neptune Flux before release! If you've been in the closed-beta, here's what's new.
Changes
Mac support is now available!
"The Flux" mission has been adjusted to decrease the difficulty relative to other missions.
Added game credits that can be viewed from the main menu.
Increased the speed of the dive pod by 20%.
Made several dialogue edits to increase clarity of some mission objectives.
Added some additional keyboard controls:
Left Shift will descend and Space will ascend, in addition to Q and E.
Enter on the number pad will now behave like the normal enter key.
Menus can now be navigated using the mouse wheel, in addition to arrows and W and S.
Number keys can now be used to select tools.
Beta Update - v0.4 - October 24th 2016
This build includes lots of changes, fixes, and optimizations in preparation for release. There are still a few small pieces of content missing, mostly related to Kickstarter rewards (including backer credits), but the current version is nearing a release candidate.
Changes
10 new Steam Achievements are now available.
Added an introductory title sequence at the start of a new game.
Many new music tracks and cues have been added.
Maximum number of flares has been decreased to 3.
The main menu has been redesigned.
Added a new Pause menu that allows for exiting to desktop.
The A.Q.U.A. Base dock menu and Mission Log have been redesigned for simplicity and better legibility in VR.
Added a message when starting a new game that points out the mission log button.
Screen resolutions with a 4:3 aspect ratio are now supported.
Dive pod glass has been removed in favor of support beams for improved VR comfort. Support beams are not visible in non-VR mode.
Fixes
Addressed an issue where boosts would sometimes stop abruptly. Boosts can now only be used one at a time and will not stack acceleration.
Fixed an issue where some menu items would appear to be too dim.
Reduced load times on startup.
Optimized physics and audio file loading for better performance.
Optimized loading for energy sources and collectible objects.
Optimized loading and graphics performance in the "Genesis" mission.
Fixed a crash that could occur while using sonar.
Fixed an issue where the battery meter sound effect may not load properly.
Fixed a graphics issue where menus clip nearby geometry.
Beta Update - v0.3.1 - September 4th 2016
This build includes a new feature: The compass now has map markers for all major locations. Markers will appear when a location is discovered. This should help make navigating a little less tedious without taking away from the initial exploration and discovery.
This build also includes dramatically improved support for OpenVR, which includes the HTC Vive. The tracking universe has been set to seated, so SteamVR should now recognize the game as a seated experience.
Changes
The compass now features directional markers for all major locations. Markers will appear when a location is discovered.
Increased the volume of the entire mix.
The value of several collectible items has been rebalanced to improve the pacing of upgrades.
Increased the battery life of the dive pod slightly.
Decreased the battery cost of sonar slightly.
Arrow keys can now be used to navigate menus and change tools.
HMD orientation reset key has been remapped to the "R" key.
Fixes
SteamVR integration has been improved. When using SteamVR, the tracking universe is now set to seated. Recentering the HMD orientation will now place the virtual camera in the proper location.
Fixed an issue where an event towards the end of the story was being triggered twice.
Fixed numerous issues where some events may not trigger properly.
Beta Update - v0.3 - August 31st 2016
This release marks the start of the Neptune Flux beta period. The game is now in a feature complete state and can be played from beginning to end! There's still more things to improve, menus to add, and bugs to fix, but this release marks a major milestone in the life cycle of the game.

W.A.V.E. Grid nodes can now only be purchased from A.Q.U.A. Base after the "The Grid" mission has been assigned.
When new objectives are assigned, they will now appear as messages on the HUD.
Several HUD messages and triggers have been retimed to avoid stacking several messages at once.
Reduced the default amount of starting cash for better game balance.
Added several more hydrothermal vent sites near A.Q.U.A. Base.
Glass on the dive pod is now dirtier when in VR for improved comfort.

Fixed an issue where collecting an item and then exiting immediately could leave the game save in a broken state.
Added an integrity check at startup to verify mission assignments and completions.
Fixed an issue where visual sonar objects would not highlight properly.
Fixed an issue in the "Genesis" mission where doors may be open by default instead of closed.
Fixed an issue in the "Genesis" mission where an objective was issued incorrectly.
Known Issues
There's no way to gracefully quit the application. Use Alt+F4 on Windows for now.
There's no options menu. This will be added over time.
SteamVR integration is not complete, and could cause issues with the HTC Vive. Results may vary.
The fade in and out on the main menu sometimes freezes while using a VR headset.
Activating a boost and then docking will put the player in a strange location.
Boosts sometimes stop abruptly.
Collectible objects and dive pod upgrades still need to be rebalanced. Currently most players are able to purchase all the upgrades without much of a challenge.

Music cues for specific locations will now play any time the player is nearby, and not just at the start of a mission.
Added a new music cue for the Explorer mission.
Some tools will now highlight in situations when they can be used most effectively.

Sarah will now cycle through all available dialogue options when interacting with objects, instead of making a random choice on every interaction. This reduces the chances of repeated dialogue for most interactive objects.

Added saving and loading! The game will now save and reload player progress.
