Update 0.9.017



Hi everyone,

a new update 0.9.017 is ready. Below is a list of changes, that are very important for the game ending introduction.


Changes and new features:
1. Player does not lose the game in case his castle is destroyed.
2. Having destroyed an enemy castle in multiplayer mode you can enter the castle and plunder chests. The vault is not available for player from other teams.
3. The vault no longer requires a pass code. The number of vault slots has been increased.
4. A team can only own a single land. You will no longer be able to buy more lands.
5. You won't be able to enter enemy mines and holes anymore; however the dungeons are still accessible.
6. After having activated the dragon, the temple is no longer accessible for you and your team.
7. If a land is empty (no AI or real players), there will be no Mine.
8. If an AI player destroys your castle, it's going to rob you a little bit :) However the items inside your vault will be safe.
9. You can plunder AI chests, something will be in there.

In a rule, if you are playing alone without AI opponents, your castle will only defend your farms from skeleton attacks.

Changes to bosses and dungeons system:
1. From now on hermit priests are always located in the first cave of your dungeon. You can easily find them. There is one priest per cave.
2. After killing a boss inside a cave you get a portal fragment to Asgard. Make sure to collect these. The Portal will soon be launched.
3. Bosses have a lot less health from now on, but their health will be increased with every portal fragment you get. This system may be also used in future with some mobs).
4. Bosses in a cave can change.

Changes to door system:
1. For now on the W key should be used to enter all doors.
2. Doors are pre-installed in dungeons, where digging is enabled.
3. You can craft doors at the Sawmill workshop.
4. You cannot dig a door using a Pick.
5. To install a door, craft it, then click RMB to place it.
6. From now on doors are also installed on the upper floors.
7. The door into the dungeon stand out now. Because a lot of people were having trouble locating the mine :)
8. All doors in the dungeon are equipped with a lamp.

Bugs
1. Fixed bug with the vault in multiplayer mode.
2. Fixed bug with irresponsive bosses.
3. Fixed bug with the "Complete 10 quests" achievement.

The Italian localization has been updated. Many thanks to our fan Emanuele Festuccia for help with text translation.

Currently we are working on diggable dungeons: some ground types will be harder to break, but you will be able to tell right away that there is gold in there. Also we are going to improve the flora and introduce drought as the Witch's curse, as well as some other tasks.

Next we are going to add the Beggar and the Raven for new story quests. After that we are going to activate the Portal and the Crypt. The dragon will be stored inside the Crypt. These are our main goals for the moment, and we are doing our best to implement all of these ASAP.

Day/night and satiety (Update 0.9.016)



Hi everyone, please welcome a new update 0.9.016. We've added a lot of features and would like to guide you through them.

One important note before you begins to read about the new features! Not all features are visible at the moment and not all information is shown to you, but I would like to warn you that there will be some serious interface changes and players will get full info on events, player statuses, objectives etc. We will make sure that you will know about all events in the game. But our first priority is the core gameplay after that comes full interface remake and polishing.

Also is there is some unlocalized text – please don't worry. We guarantee full support of all 10 featured localization languages. Sometimes we try to amass some text volume to send it to translation rather than bug our translators with a few words. Our apologies and please don’t worry about that :)

1.Day and night cycle.

From now on the game features daytime and nighttime. An indicator is displayed in to top right corner that shows the time of day and what day you are playing. This was necessary to balance the game difficulty and show how many days you are surviving in Niffelheim. Also the creatures in the upper world react to time of the day (more info below). The events in the game will depend on how long you are playing, which opens a lot of possibilities for game balance in the future :) The upper world looks the same day or night at the moment, but we will try to visualize nighttime once we start working on visual effects.

2. Satiety.

This is a standard characteristic for survival games. So before the important characteristics were Stamina and Health, now these are Satiety and Health. Stamina will be depleted and filled up faster. From now on everything you eat in the game will increase your Satiety, and potions and charms will fill up your Health. Please note that your Health will decrease if your Satiety is depleted. Also your character will inflict less damage when the Satiety is low. Both Satiety and Health are indicated with new bars.

3. We've also developed some passive abilities for all characters.

New characters will be introduced in the game: Valkyrie, Berserker and Shaman with different features and abilities. The currently available Viking gets the ability Stun. This means that there is a chance to stun the enemy when battling mobs (I will get you the exact number once we complete the final balancing, currently we are using 5% chance for testing). Some mobs are exposed to stun (currently these are skeletons) and if the ability works, they will just stand still allowing you to destroy them during the effect time. As mentioned above, in future this will be displayed in the GUI and visible to you, and we're also going to add some effects on mobs.

4. The animals in the upper world react to day and night changes.

Non-aggressive animal appear only through daytime, at night you will meet the predators.

5. We've started adding new texts to the game that have been in development for some time.

Currently we've updated the objective and reward texts for Priests in the dungeons. After some changes we are going to add more characters in the game to introduce the world of Niffelheim (for example the Raven that will tell you more about the world and issue quests).

Among other things during work on new structures we've made some optimization and reduced FPS sinking.



Bugfixes:


1. Fixed bug with the rat trophy.
2. Fixed bug with character falling through dungeon levels.
3. You don't have to kill hedgehogs to summon bunnies (you know what I'm talking about if you've played the game a year ago:) )
4. Stone`s loot in multiplayer issues fixed.

What we are working on now



Naturally the development continues in many directions. Some features are added to the game without notice and stay hidden for now, as some other features are not ready yet. But at the moment we are working on the castle destruction system, Players will be able to rob their neighbours. Losing the castle won’t mean losing the game, but you will be robbed (in the following update). This feature is made to introduce the ending about getting to Asgard. Also we are working on optimization and features of flora. We are aiming to make the Witch more interesting :) Also we are working on dungeon improvement to make it easier to find the black priests. The visuals for the last world are being drawn. New GUI schemes and game controls are in development, including schemes for game controller.

There has been a lot of text today, but if you get the time – take a look at the update and tell us your thoughts on changes (or bugs!) :)

Update 0.9.015



Hi everyone,

Please welcome the new Niffelheim update 0.9.015 introducing the automated castle defense. We’ve implemented a previous community suggestion - now the castle towers attack enemies providing there is enough ammunition and weapons. Place a weapon in the top slot and ammunition in the lower slot.

To allow your tower to shoot at attacking and other aggressive mobs, the towers must be build and have over 90% health. If the castle health drops below 90% the towers cease fire.

You can use various weapons depending on the tower type.
Wooden Towers - Crossbow only.
Clay Towers - Crossbow and Ballista.
Stone Towers - Crossbow, Ballista or a Tower Mortar.
You’ll have to place weapons for each tower, as shown in the picture - both left and right towers, or else only the one equipped with everything required will shoot at the enemies.

We’ve introduced 3 tower turrets that can be crafted at the Sawmill,

1. Crossbow - fires any arrows.





2. Ballista - fires boulders (boulders can also be crafted at the Sawmill)




3. Tower Mortar - fires any cannon balls.





And yes, from now on, blizzard does not affect the speed of your character. Now it’s simply a natural phenomenon :)



We are still working on the game’s features and polishing the details. The localization of new terms is still in progress, so please be warned there may be some minor unlocalized texts. Soon you will find out more about the new features and gameplay mechanics. New NPCs are also in development.

Another interesting feature that we’re about to launch in the game is the day and night cycle.

Hi everyone,

here is another important update proposed by the gaming community - ver. 0.9.014

From now on the contents of all your workshop chests across all of your territories will be taken into account when crafting, constructing, in altars and in the temple. Also you won’t have to carry everything around with you to complete a quest. Simply put away all of your things in a warehouse and that’s it :)

The same works for the multiplayer mode. Every team has its own chests for collective use. You can easily delegate missions and help out your friends digging for treasures under the ground.

Improvements:
1. Available skill number is displayed in sigil tooltips.
2. When hovering over a trophy board you will see the trophy progress and the number of killed mobs (only for already obtained trophies).

Bug fixes:
1. Fixed issues with new slots in the store
2. Fixed the item drop next to the throne in workshops
3. Fixed the Shaman achievement

Hi there,

fixed the critical bug with items in the chests and in the safe. Unfortunately, if you started to play "New Profile" with 0.9.013 you have to create a new profile after this updates. Because we can not regenerate items in your game:(
