Nightmare Reaper out of early access!

Hi everyone,

After more than 5 years, the game is finally complete!

Thank you to everyone who supported the game throughout early access, I couldn't have done this without you. The game has literally grown from your support and feedback into what I hope is a kickass game that you'll all love. We know we love playing it, which is a good sign after all this time.

Special thanks to all the beta testers in Discord. This was a major help and there's no way we could have released the game in such a solid state without you.

Support for the game won't end here. We plan on making some more patches with the feedback that I'm sure a lot of you will have. We'd also love to work on more sizable updates. We're not making promises, but we'd love to do modding, multiplayer or maybe some new game modes. That's a thing that can be discussed with you guys too.

We also have to start looking at other platforms and languages. We have a LOT on our plate and the team hasn't grown, so bear with us.

November development update

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for another update? Well, it's happening anyway. So, what's new? Well, story, enemies, minigame worlds, new random events, new easter eggs, new weapon stats and the ending sequence are all done! We've added different footstep sounds depending on surfaces, weapons can get bloody after a while and Andrew has finished all the new ambiance tracks for the cool new level themes.

There's also a bunch of things that I haven't announced yet, but that I can't wait to reveal. All in good time.

I'm going to start working on the new skill trees and minigames as well as the corresponding side activities. I can't say too much about that either, but it's going to be really cool.

Here's the updated task list. Remember that this is only a very rough view of everything. Careful, the image below contains spoilers! Highlight the black bar to show.

September development update

Hi everyone,

Time again for a new update! I've completed ALL the rooms used for level generation! That's 1433 handcrafted rooms, each one with a point of interest. I've also gone back through chapter 1 and 2 and improved a ton of rooms so that their quality is closer to what's going to be in Chapter 3. All weapons now have sounds too, so weapons are completely done! That's 80 weapons, 174 fire modes and 30 different stats to make them unique.

Now I'm working on enemy sounds and will soon start working on completing world 7 and 8 of the minigame.

Once again, here's a look at what's completed and what needs to be done. Remember that this is only a very rough view of everything. Careful, the image below contains spoilers! Highlight the black bar to show.

A fun mental exercise:
Nightmare Reaper's QUAD shotgun can have the "+2 attack" stat, which gives it 12 barrels. With the reflection powerup that's 24 barrels. A shot from that shoots 312 buckshot projectiles at a time.
