We've got something exciting to show you today - our blazing new look and subtitle:
"Shadow of the Sun" speaks to Ninja or Die's relationship with light and dark and hints at the celestial forces at play and specifically the intriguing influence of Amaterasu, Goddess of the Sun.
We're also ready to share a little summary of the story at the heart of the game:
Celestial doom. This is the fate that awaits humanity. In Edo, Japan, the great cataclysm has been foreseen by a most unlikely soul — a Master Thief. Your mother.
You are a common pickpocket, transformed by the cataclysm into a lethal Ninja with lightning mobility. The Ramen Seller becomes a Samurai. The Maiko becomes a killer Geisha. Your domain of petty crime becomes a frenzied neon world of shogun castles, magic traps and parachuting assassins. Someone has ensnared you in a loop of chaos… if not to kill you, then to protect you from something worse.
The team has been working on the game and making great progress and we hope to have more exciting news for you soon so don't forget to wishlist and let us know what you think of the new look!

We're excited to get your impressions of the game and so we're releasing a demo showcasing the first few levels, your home base, and one of the game's infinite run challenges. The demo will only be available during Next Fest so make sure you get downloading before February 13th!
You won't be able to access all the shops, merchants and items from the full game within the demo, but the Infinite Watchtower will be open for visitors so once you complete the first few levels you can test your might in a never-ending challenge.
This pre-release demo should give you a good indication of Ninja or Die's gameplay, but please note that not everything included is final and the levels you play may change before the game's release. The first of 2023's updates!
Happy New Year, ninjas!
We want to keep you updated with some of the changes that have been implemented in the last couple of months in Ninja or Die.
One of the main things we want to share with you is that we're testing Steam Deck functionality. We can't confirm anything right now but as soon as we know what's possible, we'll make sure to update you.
Work on the cave area is progressing. This is a dark space so most of the fighting will take place in confined areas and your dodging skills will prove to be valuable here.
Some areas are a bit unstable, so floors will collapse. Be careful that you don't fall through!
Additional traps have been added - you can see here the oil trap which creates a lot of resistance for jumps, the poison mists which continuously deal damage to you and the confusion smoke which disorientates you.
Some additional weapons, armour, scrolls have been added as well as some quality of life improvements have been made such as re-balancing some of the enemies and the ability to move the camera independently of your position.
We want to celebrate your achievements - some Steam Achievements are now in-game with more to come.

We were delighted to be featured within The MIX - where we showcased some of the amazing gameplay you can experience within the game.

We, of course, want to keep you up to date with the other changes we are continuing to make - so here's another insight into all the exciting new changes, updated features and fun sneak peaks:
New addition to the title screen!
We've updated the warehouse appearance when reinforcing - the better the reinforcements, the bigger the warehouse!
A merchant has now been created - shop for all your needs.
As seen in our last update, the forest boss is now ready!

We've got plenty to show you as we go behind the scenes for a sneak peak at the latest changes and additions to Ninja or Die!
A tutorial has now been implemented so you can get to grips with the gameplay before you take on the larger challenge. You will need to complete this section to move on, but it will be helpful in teaching you all the tips and tricks of Ninja or Die!
Locked Doors have now appeared. Find the key, get through the door - pretty easy, right?
Watch out for the blast! (Exploding traps have now been added to the game.)
If you've played the game at EGX or TGS you have already seen that when you jump you are now invincible. Here’s an official explainer of how it works:

While some of the enemies might not have arrived in this part of the Forest just yet, this luscious green arena is beginning to take shape!

We’re very excited to share some Ninja or Die updates and also to give you some dates for when you can play an early version of the game!
To give you a chance to see for yourself what the fuss is all about, we will be at Tokyo Game Show this weekend! If you are at the show, come find the iGi (indie Game incubator) booth and try your hand at traversing the planes of medieval Japan in lightning-fast style with Ninja or Die.
But that’s not all! In Europe, next week (22-25th September) we will be at EGX in London as part of the Tentacle Zone. Come and find us, unleash the power of the Ninja and you could get a killer little sticker depending on how well you do!
Before we leave you, we also have a few gameplay updates from what you’ve seen in the trailer. (and what critics have played at Gamescom).
Secret passages and break-able objects are coming to Ninja or Die and you can see them below!
A number of quality of life improvements have been made ahead of TGS and EGX so that you get the best experience while playing Ninja or Die! One of the biggest updates is that your ninja is now invincible when jumping and additional changes have been made to the secret agents regarding their abilities to parry.
We don’t want to say too much and spoil the surprise so come and play this early version of Ninja or Die at one of the events and let us know what you think!
