The Academy now features a new certification with Network Intrusion specialist Agent Patricia Conway. You’ll learn to use valuable tools like the WMI scanner, SET Toolkit, Active Directory, Aircrack and various attack strategies using Man in the Middle, password hash attacks and more! We really hope you’ll enjoy diving into more advanced modules and their respective attack scenarios!
We’ve applied many quality of life upgrades to our new Hivemind 2.0 system. In just one week, our community launched 21 networks and a further 78 are under development. We’ve added features to help you better navigate this expansive Hivemind network.
If you venture in a newly created Hivemind that has not been tested before, a warning dialog will be displayed. In a similar vein, an animated halo will appear around the most popular Hiveminds.
The network scanner indicates how many Turbine C2 Cards and Cellphone IDs must be found within a single Hivemind. They also act as a shortcut to automatically log-back in.
A new filter system is in the works, to help you better explore the various cyber-ranges available in the Hivemind network. It will enable you to search by theme (occult, military, science, etc…), by average time / difficulty, by rank and by status (new, featured this month, etc…).
Owners of the Network Administrator module received a series of upgrades including a new filebrowser and active directory editor using various pre-populated templates to help you speed up content creation. We also added a progress report on your server rank, staging mode, error detection and a first wave of bug fixes!

Hacking: Cyber Range
The new patch introduces the largest and most complex update we’ve ever had in the last two years of development. Partnership with Uplink, new Hivemind Cyber Range universe, the launch of the Game Editor Toolset and more!
Hivemind was initially a covert communications network between Intelligence Agencies, similar to SIPRnet. Over time, mercenary organisations joined the network and it is now an underground cyber range, a virtual environment used for cyber-warfare training and technical development. It provides tools that help strengthen the stability, security and performance of cyberinfrastructures and IT systems used by government and military agencies.
As a player, you can access this sandbox via the Hivemind icon at the bottom of your screen, (5th Icon). More than 63 Hiveminds are currently being built with a variety of difficulties and challenges. It’s a huge undertaking and we hope it will add a completely new playstyle to NITE Team 4.
Player Created Servers can be rated based on fun, difficulty and content quality. You also have the average time it will take to break in. Other types of ratings and filters will be added later, to give you more control over what type of cyber range you wish to play with.
In 2001, Introversion Software had created a game that would kick off a genre: hacking simulation game. Uplink has won countless awards and achieved a cult status for many members in the hacking games community.
Starting today, all Uplink owners will automatically get a unique Stinger OS skin. To unlock the skin, you just need to have Uplink in your steam library.
Owners of the Network Administrator can design and create their own Cyber Range in the Hivemind network. In the Stinger OS, a new icon on your left will give you a link to the game editor.
Network Administrator has access to a dashboard showing how many players have access to the cyber range, who succeeded and the global experience they had. The editor includes the same tools we used to design and create all of the missions in NITE Team 4 with some limitations, to keep things simple.
You can create your own technologies and vulnerabilities. Design puzzles of any type, with many network layers to break in and investigate. Advanced Module includes File Browser support, Active Directory, Smart Phone and even Man in the Middle attacks.

Update 0.11.2
Introducing new bounty!
The new bounty system gives you access to 10 bounties (normal, rare, and epic) from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the French General Directorate for External Security (DGSE).
Every hour you have a 75% chance to receive a bounty mission of unknown rarity. Common bounties give you 60 minutes to complete the mission, but the more rare the bounty the less time you will have! When you successfully complete a rare bounty, you will be automatically granted a Epic bounty, each with a unique reward:
Successfully completing the CSIS Epic bounty will grant the Phoenix Skin
Successfully completing the DGSE Epic bounty will grant the Private Investigator avatar (50% chance of Light or Dark version)
The full bounty system will include hourly, daily and weekly drops from intelligence agencies across the globe. Bounties will also drop based on real-life timezones. So if it’s daytime in China, daily or weekly bounties from the Ministry of State Security will start to appear. Your reputation with some agencies will also unlock exclusive bounties and some secret questlines. The new reputation dashboard lets you see your current standing with these agencies.
November content drop!
We are working hard on the November content drop, with plans for 5 new missions in the academy and 6 new official missions in the Season 1 campaign. While you wait, there is still time to get your exclusive Early Access skin! And if you are an owner of the Black Watchmen or Ahnayro, new skins have been introduced for you!
Key features in 0.11.02:
New filters in XKeyscore: You can now display only relevant entities to help you in your research. Filter entities by their tags : Alpha, Beta, Mission Center, Academy, or Open World.
New Career screen: Available in the Agent Profile, you can now check your reputation and overall progression.
Mission resets: You can now replay the Open World Campaign
Steam achievements: New achievements have been added, including some secret achievements.
Bounty improvements: You can now accept or decline a bounty. The bounty screen now also displays a countdown to the next bounty drop.
New Skins: The Black Watchmen skin and Special Ops title will be granted to all players who have TBW in their Steam library. The new Ahnayro skin will be granted to all players who have Ahnayro in their Steam library.
Quality of life improvements:
Dylan’s transcript in the Academy will now auto-scroll
Current XP and XP to reach your next rank are now displayed onscreen
Changed the input field placeholder in the Password Attack module to be more clear
Improved navigation within the bounty system
Completed bounties are now removed from your inventory
The text of your current objective is now non-clickable to prevent UI elements overlapping
You can now submit the answer to a bounty by typing Enter
F.A.Y will now speak only once, the first time you launch a specific module. If you launch the same module again no voice will play. Next week we will introduce this as a toggled sound setting.
Added a small delay before Dylan speaks when you complete a training in the Academy, so the success sound effect won’t overlap with Dylan’s voice
Updated the quality settings, this will hopefully help players who are having issues with shaders in the satellite heatmap and agent profile
Visual update of the Redeem section in the Agent Profile
The mission center will now move you to the next active chapter when you finish a mission.
A hard reset of the game will now erase your XKEYSCORE and Foxacid entities, and grant you the basic entity pack as if you were a new player.
Minor visual improvements to the item rewards screen
Visual fix of the animation when you unlock a new category in the Academy

Closed Beta Update
Open World - Early Access and more!!!
Patrick Greatbatch (co-author of The Black Watchmen) is back with a new set of open-world missions starting in October! Open-world missions blend in-game investigation with real world research involving websites, emails, phone numbers, etc. to increase the level of immersion and realism.
The first set of missions takes the player into the inner workings of a secretive government organization, private prisons and deep-rooted political corruption. The investigation is ripped from the headlines and explores complex problems facing real world governments today.
October 2nd will be our official Early Access kickoff party at SecTor 2018! The event will be streamed online on our NT4 Twitch Channel. If you are in the Toronto Area, let us know- we have a couple of VIP Tickets for you!
With the release of Early Access comes a set of new rewards! NT4 Hoodies, Military Backpacks, Trench Coats and The Park (Steam Key). To celebrate the event we have created 3 new NT4 Skin for each of the Secret World Legends factions: Illuminati, Dragon and Templar.
These new skins will be automatically given to anyone who owns Secret World Legends in their Steam library.
The new academy is live and will have more than 25 missions. Basic Terminal Operations is accessible right now and will be followed by Digital Forensics next week. Each training exercise is fully voice acted with Sergeant Catherine Wheeler and Security Analyst Dylan.
Also, the team started working on a new module called Blackhound. The module combines existing tools like Cobalt Strike and Bloodhound to focus on privilege escalation and pivoting. You can learn more about Bloodhound here >>

Certification Center
Hi everyone! We are excited to show you some of our ongoing work on the Academy, the training and tutorial center of NT4.
The Academy will include 5 certifications and 15 training missions at launch. These will teach you about the various tools and techniques featured in Stinger OS. Certification topics include:
Network Intrusion
Open Source Intelligence
Social Engineering
Data Forensics
Advanced Attack Vectors
And many more...
The goal of the certification center is to give you everything you need to know to master all of your hacking modules, attack strategies, and features of the Stinger OS. (Workspaces, multithreading, advanced terminal commands, etc…)
You will be able to earn three levels of mastery for each certification. (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) These levels are based on the speed and precision of your attack. For example, to identify potential entry points on an external network, OSINTSCAN should always be your first source for information gathering, since it is less noticeable than a SFUZZER dictionary attack on a DNS server.
Next week, we will introduce our new Social Engineering Toolkit for mass mailing and spear phishing a target network.
