Update Log #5 V0.0218

GamePlay



  • Time manipulation added. Players can now pause and fast forward with 2x speed. I do not encourage using it frequently as things can go wrong very quick before you notice if something is not set reasonably. If more feedback says higher speed is needed, it can be added, but due to performance issues I think 2x speed might just be the best option for fast forwarding.
  • Language Selection is added to the upper right setting button. It will take effect after restarting the game.


Bug Fix



  • Farm Panel showing wrong number is fixed. This was a displaying issue, the actual value is correct, so nothing is affected.
  • The problem that when you really broke and return to the main menu, the broke screen still shows is now fixed. This is also a displaying issue, the saving player load was not affected.

Update Log #4 V0.0213

GamePlay



  • Industrial Panel is now added into the game as the last subpanel in the tutorial. This shows all the current industrial chains in the game. As I add more industries and buildings into the game, this panel will get enriched in the future.


  • A pop up window for Houses are added and it shows up when player click on houses. The basic information about this house is included in this simple panel. Note that houses are independent from each other regarding population change.


  • Quite some people told me about lack of BGM. I did find some soundtrack, but real Chinese style tracks are not easy to find on various asset stores, and it is somehow too expensive for me right now to customize a soundtrack. So I disabled BGM before I release the game just in case people find it annoying since it is quite repetitive. I will add the ones I found these days and try my best to not make it very brainwashing, and go back to this issue when the game is near its full release, which might not be very near future though.

GamePlay



  • Tutorial Panel is now added into the game. When player first enter the game, the tutorial panel will show up and time will be paused. It can also be opened through the button on the upper right corner. This includes basically all necessary introduction of the game design and some explanation to help player playing the game. If something is still not mentioned here, it is very likely left out on purpose for players to explore and figure out like the exact behavior of the market model.

  • A popup screen for confirming returning to menu and quit game now added, so when player decides to quit or return to menu, you can choose to save or not or cancel.


Visuals



  • A screenwide red frame is added, and when time is stopped it will show up. (Time manipulation function like pause or speed up etc. is on the schedule for future update very soon )

GamePlay



  • Building panel and warehouse panel now have detailed popup windows when mouse is hovering over some specific entries, explaining the details and game logic including how setting import amount works, what influence the price may have on the final sale, what upgrading a building means and a lot of tips. This should help players understand the overall settings and designs of the game. (A more general tutorial is being made explaining the building mechanics, logistic system and all the industrial chains.)


Bug Fix



  • The occasional loading screen freeze issue has been located and solved, now there should not be any problem loading the game, but it will take several seconds longer in some cases.

  • Building panel for level one buildings have been enlarged so that the products can now be seen more clearly.
  • UI buttons are redesigned so that when players build something a more detailed panel appears showing some information about the building including building cost, maintenance cost, materials and products, etc. This helps to explain some unique design of some specific buildings.
  • The building mechanics of roads is changed so that players can continuously build roads.
