We are very very excited to be able to present Nobody - The Turnaround to you.

After two years’ intense development, it’s finally time for us to launch the game on Steam! We truly hope that you will be able to experience the sweetness and warmth of life in this less glamorous neighborhood where life actually happens.

We have done our best to test the game and fix bugs before launch, but truth be told, it’s really difficult for us to eliminate all the problems within such a short time. -------------- Further Explanation of the Game ------------
We’d also like to use this opportunity to do some further introduction of our game mechanics.

1.Management simulator

The underlying game logic is management simulation, as more content will be unlocked gradually through game progression. "You" need to work to cater your needs for clothing, food, housing, transportation etc., and finally strive for success.

We have tried to take real life into account and implement the actual wages and price of consumables into the game. But this will force players to grind, which is definitely not something we are aiming for. Instead, we hope to make the game feel more like a condensed life - the character growth will be much faster and “your” mood swings will be a bit more dramatic. We can't restore the actual life in the game, but we are hoping to create a fun and immersive game for all of you.

It’s possible that 100 in-game days will be simulating decades in life. Therefore the durability of some consumables in the game will also decline relatively quickly.

2.Role-playing
Our game's is in a typical form of an RPG, and our third-person perspective allows the player to switch between "empathy" and "thinking outside the box," which is what we do best in terms of development capabilities. (And truth be told, this also saves some budget.)

3.A mini-open world
The game's map adopts the open world construction design, players can reach anywhere, without limitation of character levels or story plots (but of course, except for the first 10 days of tutorial in the first story mode), which leaves the game more space for further expansion. And our open-world map design is also more in line with real-life situations.

We can't make it as realistic and free as the open world of 3A masterpieces yet. But we will keep updating, so that you will be able to do more.

4.The narrative timeline

This is for us the most difficult part of the game development. To make the story more realistic, we need to use the timeline to drive the story, even if an open-world design is adopted. When different events occur, your character could be in any random state, at any location, doing unpredictable actions, which may lead to some unexpected bugs.

In most open world games, as long as you do not trigger the tasks in specific places, the incidents won’t actually happen to you. But this is very different from real life, because in life, we are driven by time in most scenarios. Whether it's a debt to pay, a sick mom to tend to, or some unexpected lucky incidents, they will happen no matter what.

To make the story more immersive and plausible, we have done our best to eliminate unreasonable situations and create a sense of pressure with a carefully tweaked timeline. The story branching structure may not be as complex as CRPG, but we hope to lead you onto a journey that is both touching and unforgettable.

5.Mini-games
Finally, most of the job and entertainment gameplay is composed of mini-games. Ring toss, shooting balloons, dancing on the square with the aunties, claw machines, Xiangqi (Chinese chess), darts, Mahjong, and even some original strategy games! We hope you would really enjoy these mini-games and have fun in our game.

F: What's Early Access?
Q: Early Access means that the game is still in development and we will keep updating contents and optimizing the gameplay till full release. But please rest assured that our game has already contained much content in Early Access, including the first script in the story mode, a challenge and a sandbox mode.

F: Do I still need to buy the game after full release?
Q: There's no need to purchase the game again if you have already bought the game in Early Access.

F: Will the second and third story be released as free updates or DLCs?
Q: The second and the third story will be updated for free. We will be sharing our development plans for the Early Access with you later. Please stay tuned!

F: Can I still try the demo?
Q: The Early Access version of the game is quite different from the demo. And the current demo won't be able to represent the game quality of Nobody - The Turnaround any more. We will remove the demo from Steam at 8:00 pm (PST) on Nov. 16.

F: Currently there's only one script in the story mode. Will the gameplay be really short?
Q: Not really. For each round in the story mode, you will be given 30 days to finish the story. The time is limited and you will only be able to experience the earlier stage of the game content. But in the sandbox mode, you'll be able to experience full game content with no time limitation. You can start a romance relationship, build up your own business or buy your own property or a car.

F: Are there any stories in the challenge/sandbox mode?
Q: Yes. Even though there isn't a specific main storyline in the challenge/sandbox like the story mode, you can still encounter lots of different characters and experience their life stories.

F: Where can I visit in the game when launch?
Q: You will be able to visit downtown, some wholesale markets etc. We will keep updating the game map in the future.

F: Does the game have multiplayer mode?
Q: Nobody - The Turnaround is a single-player game.

F: Will the game support mac system?
Q: The game will support macOS at Early Access.

F: Will the game support controllers?
Q: Currently the game doesn't support controllers yet. But we are planning to add controller support later.

F: Will there be console/mobile versions?
Q: Right now we are focusing on the development of the PC version. But we are considering porting the game to other platforms in the future.

F: How many save slots are there in the game?
Q: One save slot each for the story, challenge and sandbox mode.

F: Can I continue playing the progression of the demo?
Q: No. You will need to start all over again.

F: Can we use game cheats to play the game?

, with a 10% launch discount! 3 different gameplay options will be available, including the first play of the story mode, a challenge mode and a sandbox mode.

[Story Mode] Immerse yourself in a riveting story, make choices, and determine your protagonist’s fate in 30 days. Please note that due to the character setting, part of the gameplay contents won’t be accessible in this mode, such as romancing someone special, purchasing your own places and cars, and getting access to some more advanced career choices.

[Challenge Mode] Play as one of the several characters who has just arrived in this city to chase dreams, each comes with unique conditions, special needs and restrictions. Once you have managed to help them fulfill their purposes, new character traits in the sandbox mode will be unlocked, offering you more possibilities during character customization.

[Sandbox Mode] Full game content will be unlocked in this mode. Here you’ll be able to choose your looks. Choose the character traits. Choose your way of life. Choose being a striver. Some Updates of Our Current Development

Hi guys! It's been some time since our last update. We have received so much support since our first demo testing this February. It's been such an honor and also quite overwhelming at the same time.

Nobody – The Turnaround is the first game of our studio and it's impossible for us to avoid making mistakes. To create a fun and challenging game, we had to rebuild the game several times to ensure the best game experience for you at Early Access. We have added many new features and contents into the game to create a more immersive world. However, this takes more time than we expected. (Besides, we had to work from home for some time due to incidents like an earthquake and such…) Sorry for keeping you waiting!

In terms of the release date, taking into account the current development progress and the release schedule suggested by our publisher Thermite Games, we have tentatively decided on the schedule of mid-November, so that we will have more time to keep optimizing the game.

Now that the framework of the game has been completed, a few weeks should be enough for us to finish the development and fix some more bugs. And next week we should be able to finalize the release date! Please stay tuned! And thank you all so much for your patience and support!

Devlog No.5

Hi guys!

We are back with the latest development update! Recently we held a mini-physical playtest targeting on the technical issues of the game and we were able to collect lots of feedback (and also bug reports) from our volunteer testers. This playtest and the massive feedback we’ve received earlier have helped us a great deal while setting the direction of the subsequent development and polishing of the game.

First of all, we will improve the guidance and rule descriptions in the game, and optimize the entertainment mini-games for a more fun game experience. We will also adjust various gameplay in the sandbox mode and the management gameplay later accordingly, which will be our next major focus.


Other than that, we will also be optimizing the romance system, optimizing the peddler gameplay, expanding ways to make money in the story mode, and adding more options to interact with the NPCs etc.



More characters with unique background and stories will be added into the sandbox mode as well to make the city more vivid, so that we would be able to present an immersive world to you.

Devlog No.4

Hey guys! Sorry for the delay but here comes our devlog of June!

[The Work]



The development of the last batch of jobs is almost complete, including auto engineer, welder, chef, and accountant! The stats of these jobs are still being adjusted.

Regarding the three simulation businesses: online store and the restaurant have been completed. You will need to commute in different markets to buy goods or ingredients and adjust to the ever-changing markets to make choices. The development of the auto repair store is also on-going, and we are hoping to finish it by Early Access (if not, it might need to be updated a bit later).



[The Housing]


Houses are already accessible, you can purchase your own home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, computers, etc., each with its own actual functions. You will be able to do laundry at home! But don't forget to pay the utilities (network, electricity, water, trash, and recycling etc.)



[The Vehicle]


Get ready to buy your own car! The vehicle function is still under continuous development but will not be too complicated. But we intend to dynamically update gas prices! That’s right! After the game is released, you may read in our future patch notes about the adjusted gas price!


[The Relationship]


The basic function of the romance system has been completed, the stories and the visuals are still in production.

[The Music]


Thanks to our partnered musicians, now we have 8 original songs! And each with a special square dance version.

Hi guys! Here comes our new devlog for May!

[The Entertainment]



Darts! Yes, you will be able to throw darts later in the full game! You can choose to play 301 or try to keep high scores.


[The Work]



Stats of these following jobs have been adjusted - internet cafe, apprentice, and playing mascot. And we've also finished designing the auto mechanic, welder, and chef gameplay, which are still under construction right now.



[The Character]



We have redesigned the emotion system of the character. Maintaining a positive mood in the game mainly relies on entertainment activities. With more and more entertainment activities added into the game, the previous emotion system is no longer applicable. Besides, we have received feedback from many players saying that the previous emotion system was quite difficult to understand and didn’t feel intuitive enough. So, we decided to redesign this part.

[The City]



The night scene is happening. We have rearranged lights and activities for the night. Some stores will be closed, and some stalls will be open. But please keep in mind that there’ll be punishment if you stay up too late.

Other parts of the town like the farmers market, 4S store, wholesale market have almost been completed as well. You will be able to get there by public transport or even drive your own car later.

We have made quite some changes based on your feedback, and some of the core mechanics have also been adjusted. Therefore, some more time is needed for the game. But please rest assured that the development is in full speed!

[Entertainment]


1. Billiards: Eight-ball. Current progress - complete.
2. Mahjong: Sichuan style. Current progress - complete.
3. Claw Crane: Current progress - complete.
4. Internet Cafe: We have modified the gameplay of this part. You'll be able to play a game at the computer inside the Cafe and win some specific rewards! We are currently designing a built-in original mini-game. Please stay tuned!

5. Promoter and Chef Aid: Gameplay design and stats adjustments almost complete.
6. IT Guy, Car Service, Apprentice: Gameplay design complete. Stats adjustments in progress.
