Nomad 1.8b Released
Hello Survivors!
Not quite the big update you probably hoped for. This is because I've been working on Nyran Survivors. However, an update is still an update!
I have removed the southern safe zone because it was splitting up players. I want the safe zone to be a busy hub for players. However one problem with having one safe zone was people spawn camping just outside the "safe area", killing people who walked outside. That's why two safe zones were made. But now, there is a new NPC called a Camper Driver that will teleport you to a bunch of different locations straight from the Safe Zone. No more death from safe zone campers.
Servers have not been wiped.
Camper Driver
The Camper Driver will teleport you to locations around the map. Some locations are locked behind items. For example, if you have a Pinewood Charm item in your inventory, you can teleport to Pinewood City. These items can be found throughout the world.
Machine Balance
Machines have been rebalanced and Fuel also now costs 3 Oil Bottles.
Hydroponics Station
Hydroponics Station will now grant the farming achievement.
Winter Is Here
The Nomad Christmas tree and Safe Zone fireworks have been enabled. All players will start a special present and depending if you are premium or not, a full Elf or Santa suit. Happy Holidays!

Hello Survivors!
1.7 has so far been a success however it did launch with a few issues. Hotfixes have been rolling out, trying to squish as many bugs as we go.
Some things had to change as it was causing too much server lag. Hydroponics Stations no longer need a nearby Water Barrel for a water supply. Instead now you directly put Water Bottles inside of the station.
Fuel Tables will no longer automatically fill up nearby Generators. The crafting materials have been reduced to reflect the change. This was simply causing too much lag on populated servers.
Nomad Celebration holiday has ended. Thanks to everyone who showed up and watched the fireworks.

Nomad Is Turning 8 Years Old

New fireworks have been added around the safe zones which will only be enabled at night. Be sure to be around for the show!
Auger Drill Changes
The Auger Drill is now powered by generators. If you power a Generator with Fuel near an Auger Drill, it will activate it. The smelting time of the Auger Drill has also been increased, it will now smelt every 3rd smelting tick on the server by default.
Blood Moon Graves Changes
Blood Moon Graves now have a high chance of zombies spawning when looting. More Blood Moon Graves will now spawn around the map during a Blood Moon too.
Campfire Changes
Campfires will now cook food one tick at a time instead of cooking the entire container in one tick. This is more inline with how furnaces work so it's more consistent.
In addition to the food per tick changes, campfires will also now have a high chance of burning meat when cooked. The smoke effect has been changed too.
Dew Catcher Changes
The Dew Catcher has been reworked to act more like how the other containers work. Simply fill the Dew Catcher with Empty Bottles and it will automatically fill up with Dirty Water if it's placed outside. It can hold up to 4 Empty Bottles (or Canteens) at a time, and will fill up every 6th smelting tick, regardless if it rains or not. However if it does rain, the Dew Catcher will fill up the bottles.
Oven
To combat the new addition of food burning in campfires, we have introduced an electric oven. The oven requires a generator nearby to power it and requires 4 metal and 2 copper to craft. It can hold up to 24 uncooked items and does not burn food at all.
Fuel Table
Fill the Fuel Table up with Fuel and it will automatically fill up nearby Generators with Fuel when they are running low. This will keep your bases running for longer periods of time. It requires 2x Wood, 2x Fuel and 4x Metal to craft. It has 40 slots but only Fuel can be placed inside.
Auto Hammer
Automatically repair all base foundations, walls, ceilings, doors, garage doors and doorways. The Auto Hammer works like a storage chest but only construction items can be placed within it. Wood, Metal, Improved Metal and Stone. Once construction items are placed inside, it will automatically repair all structures if the health falls below 70%. It does not need to be powered by a generator and costs 4 Metal, 4 Improved Metal and 4 Copper to craft.
The Auto Hammer requires 3 of the material to repair the base structure. Making it more expensive than manually doing it, but allows for some offline protection. The Auto Hammer will not repair a structure if the damage exceeds the health of the structure.
The range of the Auto Hammer is same as the generator when powering machines and lights. So if you have a large base, multiple Auto Hammers may need to be placed down, jotted around the base for full protection.
Hydroponics Station
The Hydroponics Station is a place where you can grow plants in-doors without the fear of others looting your crops. The Hydroponics Station requires a powered Generator and a Water Barrel nearby in order to work. Simply put up to 6 seeds inside of the station and they will grow automatically. The station will only consume water if or when the seed grows. Make sure your nearby Water Barrel is stocked up with water, as the station needs that to work.
The station will grow your seeds every 4th smelting tick, roughly around 20 minutes.
Water Barrel
As mentioned above, the Water Barrel is required to make the Hydroponics Station operate however, it can also be used as a place to store all your water within your base. It has 40 slots but only Water Bottles can be placed inside.
Water Pump
The Water Pump is a great way to passively fill up empty bottles or canteens without needing to purify them at a campfire. The Water Pump requires a nearby powered generator to work and only Empty Bottles or Half/Empty Canteens can be placed inside.
Oil Pump
The Oil Pump will automatically pump oil from out of the ground every 3rd smelting tick. It's a great way to passively get oil to convert into fuel to power your bases. The Oil Pump requires 4x Wood, 4x Improved Metal, 1x Generator Engine and 4x copper to craft and can hold only Oil Bottles inside.
It requires a powered generator nearby in order to operate.
Base Hatch
Now you can build your own hatches and climb your way to the next level of your base. The ladder is included, you can stack multiple hatches on top of each other to make one giant ladder leading to the top of your base!
Hatches follow the same tiers as the rest of the base structures. Cardboard > Wood > Stone > Metal > Improved Metal and has the same crafting costs as ceilings/floors.
Hatches also follow the same support system as the ceiling, meaning that a wall much be present under or around the hatch for support. Without a supporting wall, the hatch will destroy itself.
Mods
There's a new section in the crafting menu, under Tools called "Mods". These mods when placed in their respective places will enable special passives. For example, adding the Fuel Tank mod to a generator will decrease the consumption rate of Fuel by 10%, or the Oven Grill mod which increases storage capacity.
These mods are locked behind recipes, which can be found in barrels and loot pallets scattered around the world.
More mods will be coming in later patches when more machines come.
Weather & Sky Updates
The weather system has been improved to provide more variation of clouds, better quality stars at night and better lighting. Stars are also bigger and now rotate around the skybox during the night. Sun and moon now has smoother movement when progressing through the day.
There is a 20% chance of rain per weather tick, 20% of which will be a storm. This should calm the storms so you don't see so many in a play session.
Zombies Rebalanced
Zombies attack speed has been greatly reduced and their damaged adjusted.
World Music Changed
All world music in the game has been changed. Nice!
New Steam Achievements Added
New Steam achievements have been added for you to obtain. Time to farm your 100% completion progress again.

Nomad 1.6.1b Released
Hello Survivors!
Looks like people overall are enjoying the Blood Moon update, but I got some feedback regarding the balance of zombies when the Blood Moon is active.
Blood Moons were originally designed to be end game content for people who are Level 10, full talents and full Legendary weapons and armour as well damage increase accessories. You are supposed to die and slowly progress getting Lost Souls so it makes your next Blood Moon more manageable.
But it seems many people are missing that point and are wanting to participate in Blood Moons with little or no gear. This is overall fine, there's no point adding fun events into the game if people can't play them without spending a bunch of time first.
This patch will aim to nerf the Blood Moon so it's more manageable but still needing gear to properly survive. The spawns of the zombies have been drastically reduced but keeping the same buffed health and movement speed.
I have also noticed quite a bit of lag when zombies are spawning within Blood Moons. This is because many people are using cars and the zombies are just spawning behind and not aggro'ing anything. Leaving the server with over 200 inactive zombies spread throughout the world. This patch aims to fix this by deleting all none aggro'd zombies every time new zombies spawn. Keeping the zombie count low but not interfering with them if they are aggro'd onto a player. This should also help a lot when surviving a Blood Moon.

This is a big patch, probably the biggest patch Nomad has received in its years of development. It fixes a lot of core problems with the game and adds a bunch of new content.

Blood Moons
Blood Moons will happen every 8 days in game (every 8 hours). When a Blood Moon starts, it will spawn zombies at an increased rate, zombies will have 50% more health and they move at an increased rate.
Blood Moons are deadly, stay inside a protected area (your base or safe zone) or you could venture outside and find something new.
Blood Moon Graves
To those who seek a thrill, during a Blood Moon graves will spawn around the world. They act like Pallets, so walking up to them and looting them will harvest Lost Souls. They might be someone who is interested in these souls...
The Reaper of Death
Meet The Reaper. He will only spawn at a Blood Moon. Trade him Lost Souls to obtain special Blood Moon exclusive items. You can find him at both Safe Zones.
Talk to him when a Blood Moon is active to get a free Death Scythe weapon. The Death Scythe is only usable within a Blood Moon unless you wearing the full Reaper's Set.
Blood Moon Items
When a Blood Moon is active, there are exclusive items that can be obtained.
NEVER-ENDING TOILET PAPER Negates bleed effects.
BRIMSTONE BAND Increase the chance of mining Sulphur.
METAL BAND Increase the chance of mining Improved Metal.
DIVINE PENDANT Reduces Zombie damage by 50%
BLACK PENDANT Increases damage to Zombies by 25%
BLOOD PENDANT Bleeding now heals you.
BLOOD STORAGE CHEST A very large storage chest with 40 slots.

Generators
Generators can now be placed to generate power to your base. Lights have been added to Metal and Improved Metal ceilings and once a generator is placed near them (and it's on!) the lights will become active.
Generators require Fuel for them to function and will power anything within a 35m radius.
Improved Interactions
The player who placed a base structure down will now appear in the tooltip when looking at it. This is to help group play to determine who placed that wall so that person can upgrade it.
You can now also pick up empty Campfires, Furnaces, Auger Drills, Generators and all types of Storage Chests. Simply press F to pick them up, but they have to be completely empty with no items inside.
Improved Animations
Player and character animations will now smooth blend between each other. Idle animations will only move the characters head, rather than the head and arms. No more Naruto run.
NPC's will now head track the player when close.

Nomad Premium
Nomad Premium is the ultimate DLC to have, containing but not limited to; 26 Exclusive player skins, Premium gold coloured name tags, Access to /kits, 20+ Death effects when your character dies, Spray your Steam avatar on anything in game and many, many more benefits and features.
The Variety Skin Pack is available. This DLC contains 11 new skins for you to flex with inside of the game. Simply change your skin in the customize tab in the main menu.

The server will update player positions at a faster rate when 2 nomads are far away from each other. This is to help sniping or range fights.
Reduced the range of when pixel lights activate to 20m, down from 250m

Heavy Pickaxe chance to gather an extra material increased to 15%, up from 10%
Lucky Locket extra gem find increased to 3%, up from 2%. Thus doubling the chance of finding diamonds and gems. Description has been changed to reflect this
Legendary Axe description changed to better describe what the item does
Reduced the global bullet damage fall off to 4 damage per second, down from 5 damage per second
Workbench health increased to 25k, up from 500. Same as a wooden base structure
Base structures now output the name of the player who placed them. Will make it easier to see who is the owner of that structure so you can delete easier when in groups
Zombies will spawn in and delete quicker when spawned in at night
Blood Amulet now heals every 3 health every 10 seconds, up from 1 health every 12 seconds
Increased health regen when food and drink is more than 85% to 1 health every 10 seconds, up from 1 health every 12 seconds
Increased the damage taken from no drink or food to 2 damage, up from 1. With no food AND drink, the damage is 4, up from 2
Increased the healing effects when food and drink is above 85% to 2 health per tick, up from 1
Pallets will now cull at far distances
Zombies will now spawn around cars if you are inside of a vehicle at night or at a Blood Moon
Increased the Gold Bar requirement for gambling at Saleh, The Gambler to 3 Gold Bars, up from 2 Gold Bars
You can now fail a gamble at Saleh. The new gambling rolls are 15% for a Legendary Weapon - 20% for normal armour, 20% for normal weapons, 20% for any accessory and 25% for a fail.
Katana damage increased to 35, up from 30
Sledge Hammer damage increased to 35, up from 30
Running over zombies now does between 15 to 35 damage per hit, up from 3 to 15 damage per hit
Wall Torches light range reduced to 20m, down from 65m
Auger Drills will now decay over 4 days if no items are placed inside of them
You can now pick up Furnaces, Campfires and Storage Chests if they are empty
Reduced max distance of audio of Furnaces and Auger Drills
Reduced the wait time of re-entering a vehicle to 2.5s, down from 5s
Character animations are now smoother and will crossfade between two animations

All food items have been rebalanced. Most of them no longer give health. Simply get hunger and thirst past 85% to start regenerating health

Added saturation to the main camera based on health under 75%. The lower the health, the less saturated the colour will become
