Minor Update 13/12/2022

Changelog

  • Allies no longer "steal" the player's health pack when activating the health perk
  • Throwing a health pack at an ally increases their health to 6. This can now be used as a tactic to buff allies mid-game
  • Grenade launchers don't fire unless close to prevent player being killed at the start of the round unfairly
  • Dogs won't just stop if no enemies are around
  • Easter egg added in Last Team Standing mode

Welcome to the 3RD CONTENT UPDATE!

After a long hiatus from game development, I have found some time to add some further content to this game.
Unfortunately game dev is not my day job and hence I have had to slowly update the game in my spare time.

However I wanted to say thanks for all the kind feedback, and the suggestions have been noted for potential future updates.

The aim of this update was to tweak it into a final polished state and to add more customisation to the game modes

FEATURES

  • A game options menu has been added. As well as adjustments to general game settings, you can now adjust the size of each team and the weapon pool that the enemies pick from. This allows the player to have some freedom over the difficulty of the game, but also have some fun with some niche modes - e.g. the whole enemy team can be forced to spawn only with grenade launchers...
    You'll find the options menu in the hallway outside the main staging room, next to the lever that changes the gamemode.
  • Gamemode Shoot-out has now changed. The map is now very long and the aim is to push the enemy back by gaining ground. Once the enemy is pushed back enough, they will be unable to spawn reinforcements and you can finish them off.
  • Gamemode Catch the Chicken now has the new Shoot-out gamemode integrated as a bonus challenge every 3 rounds. This is in addition to the Last Team Standing bonus challenge every 4 rounds.
  • Gamemode Hold your Ground has now been adjusted to scale the difficulty better. In addition, the Shoot-out gamemode has been integrated as a bonus challenge every 3 rounds.
  • Graphically, the living menu has been improved - feel free to explore the facility when you first start the game!
  • The camera has been adjusted with a further maximum zoom, this will let you see more of the action that is going on around you.
  • Multiple bugs fixed

CONTENT UPDATE 2

Welcome to the 2ND CONTENT UPDATE!
New enemies have been added, a new weapon and the gamemodes have been tweaked to include these.

Changelog:

  • New enemy - Bomber: This enemy will launch bombs at you across the map.
  • New enemy - Attack dogs: A pack of dogs will occasionally rush you. These dogs can be avoided or fought head on.
  • New weapon - Bomb launcher: Does what it says on the tin... Not quite as powerful as the mortar strike perk, but can fire more often.
  • Some rooms in the Facility have been revamped and details added.
  • Catch the Chicken gamemode: Every 3RD round, gamemode switches to Last Team Standing after catching the chicken. Every 4TH round, gamemode switches to Shoot-Out after catching the chicken.
  • Last Team Standing gamemode has a special 4TH round...
  • Further gameplay tweaks


Next update should add more customisation and options to the game and gamemodes.

CONTENT UPDATE 1

This is the first content update to address some of the feedback from players!

Features:

  • Gamepad now supported - simply plug in and it will register automatically (you should see a GUI change).
  • Aim-assist now active for gamepad. Bullets will lock onto the nearest enemy when close enough to the crosshair. Indicated by a line.
  • You can now choose to play a single game type - you can switch game modes in the Lab Hallway just outside the Main Gym that you start in. Pull the lever to change game types.
  • New Game Type added - "On Your Own": Survive against enemies until your back-up arrives.
  • New Game Type added - "Shoot-Out": No chickens - push the enemy back until they are too suppressed to call for reinforcements.
  • "Capture the chicken" mode tweaked to also include "On Your Own" rounds. It has been renamed to "Classic Mix".


Changelog:

  • Leg animation has been tweaked to be smoother
  • Fixed a bug where the body would lag behind the legs

Post-release week fixes and tweaks - And a thankyou!

Thanks to all for purchasing! It has been a great release week with some awesome comments and reviews - and some constructive feedback.

This update has a few small urgent fixes based on feedback which should bring the game to a good baseline level.

But I have had lots of feedback on features to add and I can say that updates will be coming to address these!

  • You can now also press SHIFT to aim or stick to cover
  • GUI Tweak - press SPACE to return to menu when dead
  • Fixed a bug where the screen would freeze instead of returning to main menu
