New Game Mode and New Upgrade Type

Version 1.2

New Unlockable Game Mode:

Endless Mode, a clean endless mode where you start without any upgrades and where the Challenge Rating rises with every wave!

Unlock it by winning one round on Impossible Difficulty with any character.


Changelog:

- New Upgrade Type: Variety Shot
- Friendman starts with Variety Shot now
- Black Holes are now regular enemies that can and have to be killed
- Fixed an issue where some statistics where now saved properly
- Some adjustments for the black hole and homing physics
- Fixed an issue where game objects where not deleted in the background and eating up performance
- Fixed an issue where music would stop to play
- Minor balancing adjustments

Bug Fixes, Balancing and QoL

I read the Feedback in steam discussions and the reviews and addressed some of them in this quick post-release update.

Some other requests like Cloud Support is something I am working on. I have these problems on my agenda, but I have to ask for a bit more patience to get everything implemented and tested.


Version 1.1

Changelog:

- Fixed a problem where larger projectiles would collide with the Returner Bouncepad
- This was fixed by making the bounce pad disappear until the last shot is made
- You can now reroll level-ups by using upgrade tokens
- You no longer receive additional chance upgrades for Gold Tiles, when you have maxed out the chance on 100% with Cubi
- The Achievement "Elderly" was fixed. You now only have to reach Level 40 instead of Level 50
- Fast Forward is now a toggle
- There will be additional fast-forward options in a future update
- Projectiles now despawn when every enemy was killed (before that the game just sped up)


Balancing Changes:

- Shotgun starts with one projectile less and gets fewer projectiles for upgrades
- Homing projectiles home a bit more
- Homing projectiles start with more lifetime
- Homing projectile's lifetime upgrades are stronger now
- Initial Chance for critical projectiles is now 25% instead of 10%
- Critical Projectiles get better damage options for level ups
- Explosive Projectiles get better damage up options on level ups
- Demo starts with less explosive damage (5 per Level up, instead of 10)
- The amount of projectiles you can get from projectile upgrades gets lower the more projectiles you have

RELEASE DAY!

This last update before release, unfortunately, sees no major content updates, so I could fully commit to bug fixing and balancing issues.

I hope everyone who reads this will have a great time with Novi Cube! I will try my best to keep updates coming as time will progress. I definitely want to bring more content and if you have any ideas for the game, do not hesitate to tell me in the Steam Discussions.


Changelog:

- Fixed that the HP of bosses is shown after they died
- Tweaked physics of black holes and homing projectiles
- Fixed a bug where laser would grow infinitely large
- Fixed the upgrade limitation that would also bug out the tooltip of upgrades
- Buffed the shotgun upgrade to have more projectiles
- There is a win streak counter now
- Renamed the projectile size upgrades to make them more accurate to the ball size value
- Fixed the bug where small projectiles can go out of bounds
- The achievement to get Dr.Hex was changed to fit into the newer version of the game
- It is more likely to get Golden Bonus Upgrades now

Update 0.9 finally arrives

This Update was bound to release a couple of days ago, but it took a lot of testing and balancing to get the new upgrades and the new enemy right.
Also the difficulty and bosses where a bit tweaked, so expect a better experience on HARD and EXTREME mode.

Major Changes

- New Enemy Shapes
- New Special Enemy
- New Upgrade Type: Homing Shots
- New Special Upgrade: Waveclear and Returner
- Friendman starts with even bigger balls now (why are you laughing?)


Minor Changes

- Various Bug Fixes
- Buff of the Gold Tiles and for Cubi (More XP from Gold Tiles)
- Rebalance of range you get from Explosive Upgrades
- Rebalance of the chance you get for specific projectiles
- New Algorithm for projectile size upgrades
- There is no upper ceiling for projectile size (this one is for you @Olexa)
- New Tooltips for Enemy Level, Challenge Rating and Tokens earned in the HUD
- HUD and tooltips are now visible when you choose a new upgrade
- Game speeds up once all enemies are dead (thx for the suggestion @ClippedShots)
- Game Speed goes back to normal once a new turn starts, which prevents the fast forward bug in boss fights

Oh boy! New Version 0.85 just dropped!

Version 0.85

Major Changes

- Connected the Achievement System to the Steam Achievement System
- UI Overhaul
- Rework of Special Projectiles
- New System for spawning chance of special projectile
- Explosion and Laser Projectiles now have charges. After these charges are depleted, the projectile becomes a normal projectile.
- Explosive Projectiles can now destroy indestructible tiles.

Minor Changes

- The color of the player death line changes if the player has a 2nd chance
- Changed the wording of some upgrades to clear out any misunderstandings
- Rebalancing of difficulties
- Explosives now always damage a boss, no matter how far away he is from the explosion
