>observer_ releasing on Steam August 15!

Aspyr Media and Bloober Team, the partnership behind Layers of Fear, are excited to announce that the cyberpunk horror game >observer_ will launch on Steam August 15!

With cyberpunk legend Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) as Detective Daniel Lazarski, >observer_ is a first-person psychological horror experience that focuses on a dark, dystopian setting. The new 2084 trailer explores Dan’s role as an Observer, an elite neural detective with the authority to hack and invade suspects’ minds. What you see will disturb you and stir the technophobe inside of your psyche.

Developed by Bloober Team, >observer_ is a horror experience meant for mature audiences.

What would you do if your fears were hacked?

The year is 2017.

If they told me what the game would become, I would not have believed them.

After many, many months of hard work, we're slowly closing to the development end of >observer_. There's yet much to be done and we're sweating our pants off to pull one of the most memorable psychological horror games made, but for now I would love to say hello to all of you, who took the time and dropped by these discussion forums, even when the game is not ready to download yet. We'll try to keep you busy here until we launch the game (obviously after launch as well :P).

I would especially want to welcome all of you who played Layers of Fear - you, dear players, proved that there is indeed a place for psychological horror games on the market and it's because of you we can fulfill our passion of giving you more subtle horror games focusing on the atmosphere and story more, than on action and reflexes.

Lastly, I wanted to extend a Team high five to our publisher - Aspyr Media, who again decided to help bring our dream games to the market. You are extremely patient with us and we thank you for the love you give for our work and your friendship that we value very much.
To those of you who still don't know who Aspyr is, check out their website - http://www.aspyr.com. As always Aspyr staff will be all present around those forums, so take a moment and say Hi to them as well :)

I hope you will stay awhile and not only listen but also take part in the discussions posted here.

Here's a bunch of links that you might want to look at prior to opening any threads:
1. The official website - http://observer-game.com
2. The official Wiki/Gamepedia page - http://observer.gamepedia.com/Observer_Wiki

On the wiki page you will find a lot of information regarding the world of >observer_ . It will also get additional updates closer to launch, so you might want to drop there from time to time.

Finally a little FAQ:
1. The game will launch simultanously on PC/Mac/Linux, Xbox One and PlayStation 4
2. We're aiming for Summer 2017 launch date - more concrete info will be provided soon.
3. We will provide the game's price in the future
4. The minimal system specs are provided at the game's store page. Note that they may change closer to launch, while we work on the game's performance.
