It's been a full year since the full launch of Obsidian Prince and it's been amazing to see people play and enjoy our creation.
We're so incredibly thankful to you, our wonderful community for the support with feedback, spreading the word, and generally cheering us on while we were working on getting the game out to the world.
As a small thank you we've put together a birthday patch for you to enjoy.
Here are the patch notes.
A new quest has been added to celebrate our birthday together with the community that made it possible. (Look for the guy with the birthday cake near the graveyard).
A new artifact (It's a surprise!)
A potion of invulnerability has been added. Perfect for those "I've painted myself into a corner moments"
The alchemist now has some new items in stock. They have also learned to turn steel into Glod 😮
Fixed a bug where the Staff Maker couldn't be upgraded properly
Fixed a number of spelling mistakes (Potentially added more, let us know)

The holiday spirit is spreading in the crypts as well.
During December you'll be able to meet some joyful celebrators in the Purple Crypt.
Obsidian Prince updated with Steam Deck aspect ratio fix.
Obsidian Prince is now properly playable on Steam Deck! No more issues with the UI getting cut off in certain views. At the same time we've fixed a number of issues with aspect ratios for 21:9 as well as of course 16:10.
A new unique Shield and a new Artifact can now be found while exploring Emalon.
A new quest is available. Help a sad little green guy return joy to the world.
A new treasure dungeon has been added.
Fixed and issue where the Masterworks Brigandine Armor didn't reduce damage correctly.
Fixed and issue where the Notepad & Pen and Mask of Sadness didn't increase ability damage by enough.
Various spelling mistakes have been corrected.
Bug fixes 9/20/2022
A smaller patch to fix some rare, but nasty bugs we've had reported by our awesome community. (That's you guys!)
Fixed a bug where you were not able get a backstory card from the altar if you had exactly 50g.
Fixed multiple rare cases where certain rooms would cause the game to softlock if the player didn't have anywhere to move.
Fixed a number of spelling mistakes and corrected an old reference to Endless Mode to the current name Roguelike Mode.
New Area to Explore, New Wandering Monsters, New Quick House Access QoL feature.

We've been hard at work on this patch trying to balance new content, bug fixes and quality of life features.

A completely new area to explore, including new quests to solve.
Once you have unlocked the adventurers guild, look to the south near the fisherman's house where a ghost requires your help.
Shortcuts to merchants and other key buildings.
We've added a menu that allows you to quickly navigate to all important houses in-game. Once you've built or discovered a specific house, you'll be able to click it directly in the list to access it.
You'll find the button for the Housing Shortcuts at the top right of the screen. It looks like a tiny house!
Four more wandering monster encounters.
Multiple new monster encounters have been added to make visits to the Emalon even more interesting.
Multiple smaller bug fixes.
Everything from smaller stability fixes to spelling errors.
Achievement + Other bug fixes
Fixed a bug where using a belt item before picking backstories would cause the game to skip a room.
Applied another fix to the issue where resolution resets on scene change.
Achievements for chapters 1,2 and 3 should now be granted as intended. If you've already completed the chapters, the achievements should be automatically granted when you enter the campaign next. (Dog Collar achievement fix will follow soon).
Sacrifice, Time for Action & skill view in campaign fixes.
Another bug patch incoming!
Fixed an issue where Sacrifice would reset on room change.
Time for Action now properly apply energy at the beginning of a room.
The view skills button now opens your skill tree window in campaign.
Bug patch. Resolution reset fix and more.
Fixed an issue where resolution would continuously reset for some players. If you keep having this issue after updating the game let us know.
Fixed an issue where inspirations on cards would sometimes show the wrong inspirations in the preview.
Throw Trap now have the intended 2 tile range increase instead of 1.
Scroll of Throwing Dagger now correctly states that it grants the Throwing Dagger inspiration and not Agile.
Enthusiasm now correctly states that it has one extra range and not 2.
Minor bug patch to fix some broken abilities and inspirations
Perpetual Motion wasn't applying to Bell and Stormhammer. This has been fixed
Stealth would break on some weapon ability use despite having Nin Nin active (Shortbow, Longbow Dagger, Chakram, Lantern). You should now correctly stay in stealth when using these weapon abilities as long as your stealth timer is still active.
Armored Slam is now applied correctly when you have full armor.
First pass at resolution reset issue and other bug fixes.
Made a first pass on the issue where resolution resets by stabilizing the code. This will solve the issue for some of you, but may not solve it for everyone. We'll keep working on this to fully resolve the issue. Please keep reporting if you experience the resolution resetting between scenes after this patch.
Fixed an issue where the Sacrifice inspiration would proc multiple times.
