Updated to new OceanCraft Version so the cross plattform mulitplayer keeps working with the Oculus Applapp and Viveport Versions. Slight update to the controller input. (If you had trouble with the Rift S menu interaction, it should be fixed now)
Small fix and Halloween Event
Fixed problem where players using locomotion could not travel across the sunken treasure "pirate ship" and would fall trough a wall. Also added content for halloween event.
OceanCraft Event - It´s getting spookie
With Halloween coming up there are a few special things to experience in OceanCraft!
This event is limited to only happen a week around Halloween from the 24th October to the 2rd November. You will keep all the stuff you collect during the event, but after the 3rd everything will return to normal until Halloween next year, so you better don´t miss it!
If you have spend some time in OceanCraft during Halloween last year most of the content will be familiar to you, but we also added some new things!
Spookie Islands Go hunting for the treasure of cursed pirates on spookie islands. Are you brave enough to lift the coffin, or are you too scared of catching a curse?
Candy It´s time to move away from all these healthy vegetables and fresh fish you have been enjoying so far, and start eating the real deal: candy. There will be small trick-or-treat bags floating around in the water, supplying you with all the sugar you could ever want (don´t ask, how they got there).
Jack-O-Lantern It´s getting dark at night on your OceanCraft, better craft yourself some lanterns out of the pumpkins you have been growing so far. And of course they also look nice in daylight! You can get the needed candles from special Halloween airdrops.
Witch Hat To bewitch all of your friends with your stunning looks, we added a witch hat you can also find in the Halloween airdrops. You can wear this hat like the other hats from the last update.
Here is a list of the complete season features:
Candy bonbon
Lollipop
Jack-O-Lantern for crafting and building
Seasonal category in crafting book
Candle (only for crafting Jack-O-Lantern)
Halloween balloon air drops
Floating Halloween candy bag
Halloween witch hat
Big fish wear witch hat
Palms on islands are dead trees
Treasure chest on island is coffin
Free OceanCraft demo now available on steam
As some of you may know OceanCraft started out as a prototype on the Oculus Quest platform “Sidequest”. You could always download the very first version of OceanCraft there as a free demo.
With all the technical and graphical changes to OceanCraft we decided to update the demo version. This update also opened the opportunity to release the demo version onto other platforms, such as steam.
So, if you have a friend you want to show the game to, or you yourself want to test the game before buying you can now download the free demo version on steam!
The demo can be played cross platform multiplayer with the sidequest demo! Multiplayer between the demo and the full game is not possible.
Patch 0.8.15 - Invisible Islands
Fixed a problem where islands didn´t show up, when users loaded on old savefile after update 0.8.x
OceanCraft Update 0.8.x – Treasure Hunting
Hallo OceanCrafters,
After months of work and lots of testing, we finally have the next update for you! As announced earlier this year the Theme is “Treasure Hunting” which involves treasure maps, sunken treasures, and an underwater environment. Gameplay wise this update fills a gap in the middle of the current progress - before you get to build the sail. There is very few new content to the end of the journey. So, if you want to experience the changes fully, we recommend getting your friends together and starting a new game! Though of course you can still play with your old save games.
Treasure Map
The islands hold more secrets than you knew! Each one of them has a hidden treasure just waiting for you to find it. So, use your trusted compass to orient your treasure map to north, compare landmarks and start searching for the right spot. Once you have found it, you can use the new treasure magnet, to lift the chest out of the ground! See who of your friends can get to the treasure first!
Sunken Treasures
Deep on the grounds of the ocean there are not only sunken islands, but also sunken treasures waiting for you to find them. Once you see a treasure spot highlighted on the horizon, set sail, or use your new mode of transport the “waterwheel” to get there. You can use your crane to lift the sunken treasure up. We know there are sunken pirate ships, but what else can you find?
Underwater Reef
In the waters of every island lays a paradise just waiting for you. Use the diving pier to reach the underwater world, enjoy the atmosphere of the coral reef and collect some crafting resources.
Character Creator
We are finally fulfilling the discord communities wish for beards! Additionally, we added glasses you can wear, more hair colors, and the option to change your appearance in game with the crafting object “Dresser”.
Together with these changes we also made the hats into collectable items. This means whenever you find and wear a hat, it gets added to your collection and you can from then on choose to wear it from your collection.
You can also meet up with different players and exchange hat collections. To add to the fun, we added a whole bunch of new hats. Can you collect them all?
Player Rights
Did you have troubles with other players misbehaving on your OceanCraft? Then we have the solution for you! While you can not make them walk the plank, you can limit their interactions.
You can now decide on a per player basis if they can 1) access chests 2) build new objects onto you OceanCraft 3) destroy objects on your OceanCraft and 4) can grab anything.
Additionally, every chest/crafting table inventory has the option to be locked/set to “private”. A locked chest can only be accessed by the host of the game.
We hope these additional options will make you feel saver, when inviting other people to your OceanCraft. You can use the “Grab anything” right as a visitor mode, where other people can look at what you build, but cannot change anything.
Of course, you still have the option to ban people from your game if they continue to be trouble.
As always there is a lot more to explore. Here are the full build notes:

OceanCraft Patch - You shall not pass
Fixed a problem with kicked players rejoining a game.
Players that were kicked out of a game used to be able to rejoin the game after a time limit had passed. Since players abused this feature to harass others - it has been removed. If a player is now kicked out of a game, there is no way for him to rejoin!
If you have kicked out a friend for fun and want him to rejoin you now need to close the current play session, return to the menu and open it again.
Since we want to support players opening public games for others, but also protect them from harassment, we are planning to add additional privacy settings, so players can choose who can take out items from chests, build new items, destroy already build items and so on.
We are sorry for everyone who had a bad experience.
OceanCraft - Work in Progress - Treasure Hunting
Hi Guys,
We know you are all super curious about what we are currently working on, so to bridge the time until the next update we thought we would share some pictures of our progress!
The Theme of the next Update will be “Treasure Hunting”! Including Treasure Maps, Sunken Treasures and Underwater Riffs.
Those who follow our discord, also know that we are expanding the character creator!
We still need some time, until we are finished with everything we planned, but we are currently hoping to bring the update to you before august!
OceanCraft Event – Happy Easter!
As with all the event updates, you can only find these features during the season of the event. The easter event can be played from the 11th of April to the 25th of April.
Bunny Ears
Everybody can be the easter bunny, with these cute pink bunny ears. Put them on and hide some things for your friends. You can get the bunny ears but shooting the easter balloons floating over your OceanCraft.
Easter eggs
There are colorful eggs floating all over the ocean. Collect them with your hook to decorate your OceanCraft, or just eat them.
Easter basket
Craft this nice decorative easter basket to bring some easter spirit to your OceanCraft
OceanCraft Update 0.7x – Land in sight
We are finally bringing you the update everybody expected and was waiting for the most – Islands.
Maps
Collect bottle messages out of the ocean, to find treasure maps to hidden island. Navigate the sea with the help of your compass and direct your OceanCraft by manipulating the sail. Be ready for what you find, once you have reached the X on your map.
Crane and Anchor
All islands in the world of OceanCraft have sunken to the ocean floor, and it is your task to find them and pull them up into the air again. Once you have reached an island, stop you OceanCraft by releasing the anchor. Then you can use a crane, to pull them up.
Islands
The islands you will find are full of riches. Get a pause from fish and potatoes and bite into a rich juicy orange, kiwi or coconut. Try your luck at fishing the new fish out of ponds on the island. Or carefully search for the crafting resources you can collect. Once you have fully explored and harvested the island, you can go back to your OceanCraft, return the island back to the ocean, pull the anchor back and set sail for your next destination. But carefully consider leaving, each island is unique and once you have released it, you won´t be able to visit it ever again.
Blender
Are you sick of always drinking the same old distilled water? We have the solution for your: smoothies. Just put whatever food you want into your brand-new blender (yes even fish). Pull the lever and in a matter of seconds you have a more or less delicious smoothie. And we haven´t even told you the best thing yet, they not only reduce your thirst, but also your hunger.
As always beside the big main update features we of course have lots of small changes and features:
