"Bogey Peaks" new course Update!

Off The Chains Disc Golf just posted a fresh New Years update!

In this update we’ve released our 8th and largest map yet, “Bogey Peaks”. This map is reminiscent of a high elevation course from somewhere like Colorado. In addition, we’ve updated the basket and chain sounds to be more realistic and reactive to various scenarios. There’s also a variety of new hats and head shapes for avatars.

Holiday Update

Off The Chains Disc Golf just posted a fresh Holiday Update!

This update primarily focuses on bug fixes and polishing up a few rough edges. But don't worry, we've got some really cool features still upcoming in the coming months! We did however add some extra holiday cheer to this update so DiscBot will be looking a little more festive and you can now put a Santa Hat on your in-game avatar. Full patch notes are below.

Happy Holidays from Dream Nerdy!!

Patch notes v1.03:

- Santa Hat added as a wearable item for your avatar!
- DiscBot will now wear a Santa Hat every year during the holiday season!
- Fixed font size for the Quick UI to properly fit “Next Player’s Turn” (and added the missing apostrophe to the font)
- Solved bug that could be exploited to get unlimited birdies if you knew how
- Fix for issues with multiplayer turn order when 3 or more players are on the card
- Occasionally you would not teleport to where your disc landed upon using “go to shot”. Teleport is now more resilient to failure to further prevent this from happening.
- Fixed the “mulligan bug” where you could move out of and back into your shot area while the disc was in flight to be able to re-open your bag and take a shot from the same place you just took a shot from
- Fixed some cases where your shot area could visually appear in a tree when moving around the course manually
- Fixed bug where sometimes the “Go To Shot” button would not appear (particularly if you were moving around outside your shot area while your shot was happening)
- Fixed bug where sometimes the throw power difficulty you picked in settings was not “sticking” before entering a match
- Since the previous update there are now some Par 5 holes in the game - because of this, we added the ability to get an Albatross (3 under Par). This is also now tracked on the stats page in the menus
- Removed Random Objects (say goodbye to the great red arrow)
- Fixed typo for multiplayer map names
- Hilly Forest is now displayed as an “easy” course
- Updated sun tint on brisky and hilly forest.
- Fixed UV and scaling issues with tee pads
- Updated map 5 signpost images on a few incorrectly displayed boundary lines.
- Removed ‘labels’ from the power meter that is displayed while the disc is flying. Minor UI adjustments to the ‘perfect zone’
- Fixed tree collider issues that could have caused players to spawn inside trees
- Performance fix on Hilly Forest map

v1.0 Update

In this big update we have some super exciting new stuff! First off, we’re finally making the jump to v1.0 with this version. We’re calling this the “Graphics Update” because the biggest noticeable changes are certainly in the graphics department. We really like the new look and we think you will too! Aside from that, we have some important quality life features such as adding running tally’s against par on the score cards. See the full patch notes below, and as always, if you have any feedback for us or would like to join in on the weekly weekend tournaments, please stop by our discord!

Happy Disc Golfing!!

Patch notes v1.01:

- Graphics improvements: Better lighting and more defined shadows throughout the whole game. Some updates were made to shaders for better quality and colors on foliage. Terrain textures are more blended and natural for a more realistic look. Some terrain textures have been updated and changed. Grass and flowers have been added in spots on some maps. Some textures on objects such as the gazebos have been updated to be higher quality.
- Added running tally’s against par (-/+) to the in-game score card
- Updated appearance of multiplayer winners on the in-game score card
- Added a close button to the in-game settings menu (you can still open/close it with the left menu button though)
- Fixed some lighting issues on Inway Trees Park - especially in bridge area
- Fixed bug in which the game may think that you’re still playing the tutorial after quitting to the main menu during the in-game tutorial section on Mount Pond.
- The screenshots in the in-game tutorial section on Mount Pond have been updated to show the new UI. The disc stability chart has been replaced with a basic description of the 4 number rating system on discs.
- Par numbers on Sans Trap have been updated to have fewer Par 3’s and more Par 4’s due to distance

Interactive Tutorial Update

In this update we have an exciting new development! An interactive tutorial was added with a new AI character. This is mostly for newcomers to the game, but the AI that we developed for the tutorial will also be used with new features in exciting future updates. Beyond that, we’ve done an overhaul to the visual design of all menus and UI elements throughout the game, as well as some graphical improvements throughout. As always, if you have feedback for us or would like to find players to play a match with, please join our discord!

Patch Notes v0.47:

- An interactive tutorial was added with a brand new in-game AI character that can throw discs (among other things). The usage of AI characters will be expanded upon in future game content and this is our first example of that. The tutorial is required to play through once and will automatically start when you load the game. It’s 5-10 minutes long. If you want, you can skip playing the game on mount pound at the end of the tutorial, it will still count as completed once you have loaded the map once (but you will of course miss the pointers that pop up at each hole).
- Some minor graphical improvements: some shading on the hands, reflectivity on metal objects like the baskets, trash cans, etc
- Basket chain racks have been updated to be a brighter more attractive yellow
- UI update: we have changed our UI’s overall “branding”. All styling was updated for the menus both in-game and on the main menu. This is still a work in progress and we’re happy to receive feedback on this.
- If you aren’t looking at your watch for a couple seconds it will now automatically close
- You can now see the reverse side of water if you’re underneath it on Quest.
- On PC, we’ve switched to the same water shader that we’re using on Quest for a big performance boost and to unify the look of different versions of the game. We have on the list to do some additional water updates in the future that both PC and Quest will receive.
- “Next Tee” signs have been added to all of the maps so it’s easy to tell what direction the next hole is if you’re walking manually.
