We're sure that by this point you gave our free prologue for Offroad Mechanic Simulator more than one spin. Thank you for all the positive reactions and thoughtful feedback! However, the time is nigh to show you some more attractions that will be available for you in the full version of the game!
In the prologue, you had an occasion to drive through a large part of our Forest map. But, as all offroad fans know, there are other places that can provide the right challenge. Some are much, much arider. That's right, we are talking about our second map, the Desert. This rocky and sandy landscape nearly without plant life (but above the average number of animal skulls and skeletons) is definitely hard to traverse. It also provides different problems to solve with the right car modifications and tools at your disposal.
And you will have to solve them because the terrain is extremely uneven. This is not your Sahara, this is more like a rocky desertscape of Arizona or Nevada. Some races will have you fighting time while climbing steep terrace formations, while others will take you through needle eyes between massive hoodoos. Some specific gadgets, like rock anchors for your winch, will be elemental to brave the most complicated parts of this rock climb.
Need more challenge than that? Try to navigate this rocky maze at night. Yes, our time-sensitive races will have their nightly versions. Visibility will become essential for you - because if you don't see the next obstacle, you will probably fail to overcome it! Nighttime races will be available across all maps, and you will have the parts to modify your cars for these dark conditions. Roof-mounted lighting options are available in our in-game shop and they will be your best friends for this kind of task.
Of course, please remember that above sneak peeks are work in progress, from a pre-release build - we're still updating the game with new elements and tweaking everything.

DEVLOG - FEBRUARY EDITION
Hello, offroad enthusiasts!
As it's easy to deduce, factory tires for even the strongest full-size SUVs may not be the best choice for the harsh terrain you would like to race through with your car. That's why retrofitting the vehicle with specialized offroad tires and rims will be usually one of the first things you'd like to do. Indeed, it's one of your first tasks both in the full game, as well as in Offroad Mechanic Simulator: Prologue - First Job!
Unmounting the factory tires will be a priority thing to do when working on the car's chassis section. It allows you access to the whole braking system. Fortunately, it's an easy thing to do. You just remove lug bolts that are going through the rim. Analogically, you mount the tire by screwing in the same bolts.
To buy specialized tires for terrain-conquering adventures, the trusty Offroad Market is always in the right direction. You buy the tires and the rims separately from the different manufacturers popular in the offroad circles.
In the rim, you will seek higher diameter and more durable materials, to make the driving experience more comfortable. You can select the diameter and the width you're interested in on the rim's shop page. As for tires, your goal is primarily to provide as much friction as possible in contact with uneven and harsh terrain. The size matters here too, but also deep tread patterns and larger lugs can help tremendously in the quest to gain better traction, Again, you can select parameters - diameter, width, rim diameter - on the items page. Additionally, some products can have additional perks for your offroad needs.
Remember, the tire and the rim must be (the rim diameter must fit the tire parameter of the same name). Similarly, not every tire will fit every car. There's always an upper limit to the diameter of the wheel which you can fit into the vehicle. The shop will show the basic compatibility of each item with the cars you work on.
So now you have a tire and a rim... and what next? To combine them, you have a professional tire changer machine in the garage. By manipulating the arm's height and extension, you can secure the rim in the tire mounted on a special boom with a rotator. Ready to use on your offroad vehicle!
And a last small reminder - tires will get covered with dirt quickly when traversing the rough terrain and wear with time. You can check their state by diagnostics or while mounting the part. The metal of the rim is also prone to rusting, so keep that in mind as well!
As you remember, at the end of December we announced Offroad Mechanic Simulator: Prologue - First Job, a free version of the game coming to Steam soon. But you might not know that this Prologue will show off a lot of changes made to the game between the time of the demo/other presentations and today. Offroad Mechanic Simulator is evolving fast and taking its final shape - also thanks to Your invaluable feedback!
In the Prologue, you will have access to a much larger part of the game, where you will find many new features - and also improvements bigger and smaller. But the most important changes for many of the demo players come directly from their feedback. Those technical improvements will make the gameplay feel new and better suited to your needs, and give you an idea of how the full product will play. Along with major updates to physics and handling, we have changed the entire UI for your driving pleasure!

Hello offroad enthusiasts!
Today is a great day for all aspiring mechanics because we have news for you - we have just opened a Steam page for Offroad Mechanic Simulator Prologue - First Job. This unique experience will allow you to test all of the gameplay features and get significant gameplay time to prepare for the full release.
Time to show you some of the latest changes in Offroad Mechanic Simulator! There are three main features that this devlog will address. Of course, a lot more happened behind the scenes since we released our demo. We will share more information in future devlogs - or, if there's anything specific you want to know about, let us know in the comments!
Let's start with the garage!
This is the hub for every player. It's divided into a few separate areas:
Workshop - this is where the magic happens and where you will spend most of your time. You start with room for just 1 car. However, once you unlock additional areas in the workshop, you will be able to fix and upgrade up to 3 different cars at the same time!
Garage - you need a place to store your cars and that's where it is. You start with just two slots but as you make progress, you will gradually unlock 6 more.
Storage - as the name suggests, this is where you can find car parts that you own
Car wash - it's not unusual for a car to return dirty from an offroad adventure. This is where you can remove dirt from any angle, to prevent any car parts from corroding.
Chip tuning - are you in need of some additional horsepower? Then that's where you need to go!
Transferring cars between stations is very simple and can be done with just a few clicks:
Next, let's discuss the car wash!
Nobody likes a dirty car. Thing is, in your job of servicing offroad vehicles, practically every car you get your hands on is going to be covered in mud. This isn't just a problem because of the aesthetics. Dirty parts can corrode and degrade in quality over time. So always remember to clean your car if you take it to a windy desert canyon or force it through a muddy river!
Finally, it's time to talk about chip tuning!
This is a new feature that will let you squeeze out that little bit of extra power from your engines. To start tweaking the settings, you must move a car to a separate room in your garage, where you have the equipment necessary for chip tuning. Once everything is in place, you must use a nearby laptop and tinker with the engine by completing a simple minigame. As with everything else, this feature is based on things you do in real life!
