v1.03 update

We apologize for keeping silent for such a long time.
As promised, we are still working on making the game better over time. but due to the development schedule, some of the promised fixes still haven't been able to implement in the game yet.

Before we can fully patch those fixes, we would like to provide additional language supports for more users to be able to experience the game.

Updates:

<*>Fixed some minor issues with the new config feature.
    <*>Added Traditional/Simplified Chinese support.

As always, we want to thank all the fans once again for their bug reports and feedback on the Steam Community forums. We will try our best to make Ogre Tale more accessible for every single user. Really appreciate your patience and support along the way.

Please keep warm and safe, and hope you have a great holiday!

    v1.02 update

Thanks for your patience, everyone! Another bugfix patch has gone in featuring more quality-of-life updates.

    These include:

    • Damage displayed on the screen is 10x the damage being calculated internally (bigger numbers are more exciting, after all!). But previously, the total damage calculation reported was not properly reflecting this. This has now been fixed so that all damage reported displays the correctly inflated statistics.
    • The achievement that was previously set to unlock when your cumulative damage total hit 8 million has now been reduced to 4 million to help curb unnecessary grinding.
    • The much-requested ability to exit the game from within its main menu has now been added -- it's the fourth selection under HELP & OPTION.
    • Key config has been added for keyboard users.

A number of other bugfixes and tweaks have been implemented as well, mostly in response to player feedback -- so thank you, everyone who reported issues! You really helped make a difference, bringing numerous extremely specific issues to light so that we could make this game a little bit better.

Additional changes due to the inclusion of key config:

    Before this update, 2 players could play on a single keyboard, with player 1 using W A S D B J G H T Y U I 2 1 and player 2 using ↑ ← ↓ → L + 9 0 1 2.

This is no longer possible, as one keyboard is now regarded as a single control device, associated with only one single player (and there is no support for multiple keyboards at one time).

Control devices are auto-assigned to players, with controllers receiving preference over the keyboard as follows:

    • No controller connected - keyboard is assigned to player 1
    • 1 controller connected - keyboard is assigned to player 2
    • 2 controllers connected - keyboard is assigned to player 3
    • 3 controllers connected - keyboard is not used

Additionally, if a controller is removed during play, the control settings should automatically update to the appropriate state as noted above.

Finally, though not an update to the game itself, we wanted to also note that alongside this patch,

Steam trading cards for Ogre Tale are also now available!

We want to thank all the fans once again for their bug reports and feedback on the Steam Community forums, and urge you to please keep them coming! We're still working with the developers to fix as many issues as we can, and really appreciate your patience and support along the way.

Our focus moving forward will be as follows:

Planned for completion by the end of November:

    • Addition of Chinese support (both traditional and simplified).

Planned for completion by the end of the year:

    • Tweaks to game difficulty per player feedback.
    • Improvements to the shop UI.
    • Fixes and tweaks to various enemy encounters.
    • Increasing the scope and functionality of gameplay through the addition of story elements, difficulty adjustments, new uses for money, etc.

Thank you again, and we hope you continue to enjoy your time with the game!

    Still working on it!

Sorry we've been incommunicado for the last little while, but we've been super busy with all kinds of things. Fortunately for you Ogre Tale loyalists who've been enjoying the game and posting about it in the community, however, one of those things... has been Ogre Tale! We've meticulously read all of your reports and suggestions, compiling them into big lists and forwarding them on to the dev team bit by bit to make sure as many things get fixed, updated, tweaked, and just in general made better as humanly possible.

We're now in the process of reviewing all of these changes and updates, and intend to roll them out to you right around Halloween time or so.

Once again, we know a lot of time has passed since the last update, and we feel bad leaving you all hanging, but we want to thank you for your patience and assure you that yes... positive change is on the way!

If you have any additional suggestions or comments, please do keep them coming. And remember:

Any language is A-OK by us! :)

    Happy peach-punishing, everyone!
