On A Roll 2D DLC - Release Date
We're proud to announce that the original On A Roll - a 2D version of On A Roll 3D that was originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2009 - will be available as DLC on Friday 17th March 2017. For those that played the original, this version will be almost identical other than the fact that the controls have been improved and the difficulty toned down a bit. The game contains four additional levels laid out in the same form as for On A Roll 3D - i.e. three areas in each level plus a boss.

Another update!
Version 2.1.1 - just a few minor changes:

Changes


* Added a menu option to reset all level progress and "perfect" levels.

Improvements


* Improved the title screen game logo slightly.

Fixes


* Fixed minor bug with skipping the end sequence before it has finished.
* Stopped collectable items (e.g. stars) animating when the game is paused.
* Added better support for Steam Cloud Storage being turned on and off, and better detection and handling of corrupt/missing Cloud Storage files.

On A Roll 3D Update!
We've just released version 2.1.0 of the game, which includes a few updates and a few fixes. For those of you that have been following the recent additional achievement discussions, we've gone with the majority as promised and not added any more achievements to the game. Here's what we've changed:

Updates



  • A "perfect" can now be achieved on each level by completing it without taking any hits or losing any lives, collecting all stars and defeating all enemies. The levels for which perfects have been achieved are shown on the level select screen, which also now shows the completed levels. Thanks to Real for these suggestions.
  • The controls screen now allows the directional keys/joystick buttons to be redefined. So you are no longer restricted to using the arrow keys or the main joystick axis. Thanks to limelight1210 for this suggestion.


Fixes



  • The "hints" setting on the options menu was not always being saved.
  • The number of lives was not always displaying correctly during the game if two extra lives were gained in quick succession.
  • Stopped the game occasionally attempting to post leaderboard scores when Steam was in offline mode, which resulted in a crash. Also doesn't attempt to show the leaderboards screen if the leaderboards are unavailable.
  • Doesn't crash any more when you have more than 99 lives (someone, somehow, actually managed this!).
  • Stopped the game from allowing you to proceed to a locked level through normal gameplay. Thanks to 'AirollBatics' ortsA for pointing this out.


We've also deleted the high scores and times that were obviously posted by cheaters. I'm not going to tell you how we determined this to discourage others from doing it in the future. Please don't do it anyway - you ruin it for the real gamers.

Extra Achievements Vote
After a recent discussion on the forums and in the previous "Extra Achievements" announcement, we've decided to put it to the vote.

Basically we want to know whether you want two more On A Roll 3D achievements to be added in a free update, or whether you want the game to remain as it is. Here's the vote:

Extra Achievements?
A recent forum post got us thinking - how would people feel about some extra achievements being added to the game in an update?

On the face of it we all like a new challenge, and free updates to the game are welcome, but we don't want to upset the people who have worked hard to "100%" the game and have already earned all the current achievements.

Any thoughts/comments on this would be welcome!
