Are you dreaming about beating bosses on the go? Dream no longer pilot for ONE BTN BOSSES should work tipy-topy without any configuration needed on the Steam Deck! Earn grind points on the train, plane or the toilet! Play with either the steam decks built in gamepad or with the touchscreen, whatever fits your on-the-go or in-the-bed situation better.

But if you don’t have any grind points yet and are eager to jump into THE OFFICE now that you can do that on the Steam Deck, look no further as I have 5 tips for you:


  1. Keep moving fast, to shoot faster and stronger bullets!
  2. Grinding a rank? Press R to restart quickly!
  3. If you need more GP to unlock something, just jump into a quick ROGUELIKE run!
  4. Try out different module combinations if you’re having issues with a boss!
  5. And if even that doesn’t work, just skip it – there are always other levels you can do!



Don’t own a steam deck but still want to switch to playing on the go? We’re cooking up some versions of the game that will be playable on multiple different devices that you can take on the

We’re trying to see if it’s possible for us to get the game onto some other platforms right now. Until then this is a small patch addressing some quality of life problems and improving the experience on the deck.

Quality of Life



  • You should now be able to set the game into windowed (fullscreen) mode
  • You can now quick restart the game with R (Triangle/Y on controller)
  • Instead of seeing “Action Button” in the game’s text the icon of your bound button should now dynamically appear

Hello all, welcome to the first patch notes! We did some minor balancing and addressed the most drastic bugs. It’s likely some things you guys want are not addressed here, we are reading your feedback and understanding where it’s coming from. New QOL features, such as seeing highscores from within the level select screen, windowed mode or a quick restart button.

We’re taking a few weeks off from working on the game directly to let the initial steam sales settle before we commit to anything. However what we can commit to is a set of small competitions we will be hosting in the discord. Starting next week we will be hosting a string of competitions for 3 weeks straight and we’re excited to see you all completely break the game.

Due to balancing changes the highscores have been cleaned up! The 1.0.0 archive can be found here:

Quality of Life

  • Reverse now includes a visual, 0 - 100, indicator of how much of a charge you have completed

Module Balancing


All changes here are effective in both the campaign and rifts.
  • Laser

  • Damage at high spark levels has been reduced by about 10%

  • Dash
    • Fixed a bug where it would take a couple of frames for the immunity to trigger. It should now feel more responsive for those of you that did notice.

Rifts

  • Floor 4 and 5 fights, both HR and Elites, have had their difficulty slightly increased
  • Squares that travel the arena’s path should now appear in smaller numbers
  • The HP of shielding assistants that can appear as a level modifier has been decreased by 33%
    • Additionally, they each subsequently spawned assistant will appear slightly later
  • Floor bosses now get really angry if you fight them for an incomprehensibly high amount of time (they despise any attempts of pacifism)
  • It is no longer possible to lose HP on shops while at 1HP. You will only be offered common, free powerups instead.

Discoveries in Rifts

  • Laser
    • Effectiveness of All Or Nothing has been halved
  • Juggler
    • Several bugs related to Two Hands Only have been fixed which reduce jugglers potential maximum DPS
  • General
    • Fragments of Aidoxe are now slightly more common
    • Pacifist should be slightly rarer

Bug Fixes:

  • The levels around Star’s cluster should now be clickable on more resolutions, sorry click clique
  • Several typos have been fixed, we’re very soryr about that
  • It is no longer possible to skip the boss changing shape animation.

Rifts

  • (Shooter) 999 bullets text that incorrectly stated that the count resets when hit has been removed.
  • (Juggler) Fixed card interactions that made it so you can have more than 2 Primary Jugglers while playing with Two Hands Only
  • (Reload) It is now impossible to fire low charge bullets impossibly fast by spamming buttons on two different input devices.
  • (All modules) Attack Zone affecting discoveries should now behave correctly

Steam Deck & ONE BTN BOSSES

Hello pilots!

The game is coming out in 2 days and we wanted to inform you about the Steam Deck functionality. While we personally don’t have access to a Steam Deck we have tested the game out on Linux with comparable hardware. But more importantly, we have heard from friends and press that have access to the game (and have Steam Decks) that the game is functioning perfectly.

So for Steam Deck owners, we’re excited to say that you will be able to enjoy one button bullet hell action on the go!

If you find some bugs specific to the deck we strongly encourage you to report them on the Steam Forum or on the Discord!





Trying New Weapons and Movements - Dev Diaries Ep.5

We’re back with one last episode of Dev Diaries before release!



This one is all about experimenting with the new weapons and movements you’ll find in the game. Is anything better than dash? Which weapon gets the best cards? Brin and I spin a wheel and try out random combinations of weapons and movements to create the most broken builds and see how far they can go in the roguelike mode!
