Update 1.1 Now Live!
We’re really excited that the 1.1 update for Operation Apex is now live! The update includes a big bug and feature push and we’ve worked hard to ensure it addresses as many requests as possible. Especially, full Oculus Support with touch controllers.
The full update includes:
<*> Oculus Support w/ touch controllers.
<*> Toggle Comfort Mode On & Off. Turn the vignetting off, particularly useful for live streaming.
<*> Free Roam. This is a major update that opens the game up to free exploration, allows you to return to levels and allows you to accumulate mimics. You are free to explore and discover as you please outside of the main narrative.
<*>Cloud saving on Steam.
<*> Graphics improvements and fixes inc. some new lighting and terrain improvements.
<*>New VO in certain areas and a VO repeating bug fixed.
<*>Luring/fleeing fish behaviour improvements.
<*>Significant performance improvements and fixes.
<*>Numerous other bug fixes.
<*> Chinese language support added including VO.

Over the past two months we've been working super hard to complete a big bug and feature push, addressing as many requests of your as possible. This will go live on February 22nd.
We're adding:
- Full Oculus Support w/ touch controllers.
- Toggle Comfort Mode On & Off. Turn the vignetting off, particularly useful for livestreaming.

Operation Apex is Alive!
Operation Apex is now available!
Some of you may have seen our work before, we have one of the most watched 360 experiences on Youtube, an animation with Great White Sharks. But, in the context of games, we're completely new, and Operation Apex is us trying something completely different.

Based on the success of Great White Sharks 360, HTC approached us in 2016 to build what is effectively a sequel. But rather than simply just create another passive experience, we wanted to try something a bit bigger. So, with that in mind, we've spent the whole of 2017 with a small team of around six people building Operation Apex.
We wanted to build a world with dynamic creatures that react to your presence, whether that's being scared, curious or hungry. We wanted to build new mechanics to understand the food chain better by luring, feeding and interacting with the creatures in the Ocean. We wanted to create a world that you're free to explore and one that's grounded in real-life research.

There's still more to do (Oculus support coming soon) but we hope Operation Apex is the realisation of the above. We know there's other underwater games and experiences available but we believe you'll find our approach to animation, graphics and the real life research that powers our process to be interesting.
VR is a unique medium, one that we love. There are huge problems in our world, and we believe they're perpetuated by a sense of disconnection. We hope by playing this you'll see the Oceans in an entirely new light.
