How to Report Toxic Players

DON'T LET TROLLS RUIN YOUR FUN

As our game continues to grow, we’re continuously working to help foster a healthy and positive community. Robot takes the player experience very seriously and we have no interest in letting toxic players ruin the fun of the game for anyone else (see our Code of Conduct for details). Let’s talk a little bit about how reports from players contribute to the community we are growing!

We receive reports every day from community members with their concerns about other players. These reports help us sort through the data on our end to identify toxic situations. Each report is carefully reviewed and we seek out additional information in our systems to flesh out the details. Every report is reviewed by multiple team members so that we can make an accurate decision consistent with our policies.

HOW DO I REPORT A PLAYER?

If you see a player that is violating the Code of Conduct, Acceptable Use Policy, or the Terms of Service in some way, you can and should report their activity directly to Robot Entertainment. Posting in the forums is nice, but there's a chance it may get missed. For that reason, we only handle player reports directly through our ticketing system.

To report a player, fill out a Support Ticket here. When submitting your report, always remember that the more information you can give us, the better. Be sure to include details like your in-game nickname, the nickname of the player you're reporting, screenshots, the date and approximate time of the incident you're reporting, and what happened. You can find more information on how to provide a detailed report here.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REPORT A PLAYER?

It’s important to note that player privacy is a major concern. If you’re reporting a player, that player isn’t told who reported them. Similarly, if a player’s actions have warranted some kind of action, we keep that information private as well. Punishment is generally a break from the game. Publically shaming that person would be a further punishment that we do not feel is right.

While results are kept private, we can tell you we take each report seriously. Since you’ve spent the time to write up all the details of the situation, it’s only fair that we’re thorough in checking it out. Players that violate the code of conduct receive a suspension that matches with the severity of the offense. As long as you’ve provided an accurate report of someone violating the code of conduct, you can assume action was taken.

Suspending a player isn’t something we take lightly. We understand some players plan their day around their gaming time, and not being able to play your favorite game is a serious change in plans. However, we simply cannot tolerate players creating a toxic experience for others.

OMD!U is all about killin’ orcs and smashin’ dorks. The goal is to have fun with your friends while the green things get gibbed. We appreciate everyone’s help growing our community!

Bloodspike Unchained: Release 1.2 Now Available!

Toward the end of Closed Beta, we revamped the entire crafting system in Orcs Must Die! Unchained, and while we were really happy with the results, Open Beta players had a clear message for us – they want more control. And it wasn’t just crafting. Players have been looking for more power and control over their game experience in several areas. On every episode of Insider Access, in tons of forum posts, and in every survey, we’ve made promises to listen to your feedback and make changes based on it.

We're turning your feedback into features.

Release 1.2 represents some of our biggest community feedback-driven changes to date. There’s a lot in this release, but here’s a look at some of the biggest changes that affect your questions and concerns about the state of the Open Beta.

If you want to dig down into the numbers for a more detailed description of how we’re applying your feedback to make the game better, click the image below.

Incoming Crafting, Material, and Level Reward Changes!

You've been telling us that crafting is bloated and unwieldy, and it's difficult to craft the things you actually want. Thanks to the feedback of our intrepid Open Beta players, we are introducing substantial changes to the Orcs Must Die! Unchained crafting system in the next major update. Haven't heard this news yet? Head over and read Mother’s blog. In it, Mother (Ian Fischer) details the feedback we have received from players and how that feedback will be incorporated into the game.

Now that we’re all on the same page, welcome to the new, simplified world of OMD!U crafting. Below is the basic information on what will change with our next update.

Note: There are no changes to the recipes for crafting heroes, which will still use rift embers and skulls.

What does this mean for current players? How will existing stores of donkey fat and kobold tears be converted for the new system?

For details on changes to the level rewards, visit the official blog.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is in open beta and we value your feedback. Please let us know what you think about these changes by visiting the official forum thread for feedback on the updated crafting system.

New Guest Heroes For The Week of May 24

Hogarth, Midnight, Tundra, Gabriella, and Smolder are guest heroes this week in OMDU!

All five heroes are available to play for free this week. Log in now to give them a try!

Prepare to be Brutal

The Unchained's most fearsome warlord has escaped from the dungeons of Frostbite Fortress. He's not happy, and no one will stand in his way this time. Beware; Bloodspike, the Brutal, is coming.

Bloodspike is infamous as the most feared commander of the Unchained forces, not only because of his success on the battlefield but for the cruelty and brutality of his methods of motivating his forces. He was recently sent by the orcish matriarch Bionka to capture Eventide Fortress. Tundra was able to repel the assault and Bloodspike was captured and imprisoned by the grizzlies.

Bloodspike is a frontline leader who thrives off of the thrill of battle and spectacle of the carnage. He is at his best when escorting large armies that can fuel his abilities and his appetite. Bloodspike motivates his troops and strengthens his attacks through pain and fear, beating on his own minions to power his abilities. In order to maintain his attack, he is known to eat the flesh of his fallen men to keep his strength and ensure his orders are obeyed. From a playstyle standpoint, he is strongest when he stays with his minions and uses them to power up his abilities. He can then unleash devastating attacks when opponents approach the minion wave he is leading.

Read the full hero preview with Lead Hero Designer Paul Hellquist, and prepare yourself for Bloodspike the Brutal!
