Order of Battle: Red Storm has been announced
Order of Battle: Red Storm, the third chapter of the Soviet DLCs trilogy, has been announced for PC and Mac.
Fight the massive battles between 1943 and 1945 and lead the Red Army to victory.
The campaign begins with the fierce tank battle near Prokhorovka during Operation Citadel, the last grand German summer offensive on the Eastern Front in mid-1943. Following the failure of Citadel the Red Army will almost always be on the offensive.
Like in the previous Soviet DLCs, Red Star and Red Steel, Red Storm includes both famous and crucial battles as well as operations that are less known or limited in scope, but still provide unique challenges. So while the Eastern Front is known mostly for large land battles, a few operations with amphibious and naval elements, like the Kerch-Eltigen landings and the liberation of Crimea, were added.
An optional scenario roughly in the middle of the campaign depicts key aspects of partisan warfare in Byelorussia - winning it offers additional benefits in Operation Bagration, the huge offensive against Army Group Center in the same region a few months later.
The ultimate goal of this campaign is the defeat of the Third Reich in the Battle of Berlin. But Red Storm does not stop there - players can opt for another battle after the fall of Berlin and take their core army to the Far East to defeat Japanese forces in the last major Soviet offensive of World War 2 in Manchuria.
Order of Battle: Red Storm is about to start its Beta. If you are willing to give us a hand in providing your feedback, you can sign up here.
We will be revealing more information about Red Storm in the future, so stay tuned.
Yesterday we released an update for Order of Battle, introducing the Slitherine Tournament system to the game.
Players who are familiar with Field of Glory II or Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach will know what this system is: it is a system through which Slitherine can set up fully automated tournaments.
All you need to do is sign up, then the system will pair you with opponents and create your PBEM games. You will be notified by mail of when the tournament is starting, and when it will be time to play your turns.
We are now ready to start our first tournament ever for Order of Battle. It is a Beta tournament, so there might be bugs. If you encounter any, please let us know and we will address them.
The Tournament will begin on Monday 27, and it will last 3 rounds, each lasting one week. You can sign up here. The tournament follows Swiss Tournament rules: you can find the full list of rules here.
Please note that even though Order of Battle: World War II is a free-to-play game, you will need to own at least one DLC to be able to play multiplayer and to join the tournament.
Order of Battle: World War II - v8.5.4 Update || New Tournament System
We are releasing a new update for Order of Battle, bringing the game to version 8.5.4.
This one is a bit of a surprise: it introduces the Slitherine Tournament System to Order of Battle. What is it? It is a system for automated tournament management. We fully intend to make use of it in the future, but first we will need to test it. Expect news about this very soon.

The Motherland calls! Order of Battle: Red Steel is out!
Set between January 1942 and April 1943, Order of Battle: Red Steel covers the battles of the Soviet Union at the most crucial moment of World War II.
After slowing down Operation Barbarossa, the Red Army has launched a series of counter-offensives during the winter. Losses in terms of men and materials are horrendous on both sides. German high command has a new, ambitious plan to renew its offensive in the coming spring. Can the Red Army stop the Wehrmacht and save the Motherland?

Red Steel is Order of Battle’s second DLC, focusing on the German invasion of Russia. After the initial German success seen in the Red Star DLC, it’s now time for the counterattack.
You can now purchase OT-34 flame tanks, T-70 light and KV-1 m1942 heavy tanks, improved 45mm 1942 AT guns, and the new ZiS-3 field gun which can also be used in an AT role. In the air, you’ll need the improved models of aircraft like Yak-9D and La-5F fighters, or Il-2M or Pe-2FT tactical bombers to keep up with the Luftwaffe.
But the enemy is also fielding brand new equipment: the Germans have new and improved Panzer 38 G, Panzer IV G, and Bf-110 G vehicles. Their Romanian allies now deploy R-2 tanks and IAR-80 fighters, whilst the Hungarians are using a derivative of the Italian Reggiane 2000 fighter under the name MAVAG Heya, plus more equipment from Germany.
Starting today and for the duration of one week, the entire Order of Battle franchise is getting a nice discount on Steam. Don't miss it!

The Red Army strikes back! Order of Battle: Red Steel has been announced
It is the winter of 1942, and the Red Army is about to turn the tide of World War II.
Order of Battle: Red Steel brings you back to the most pivotal chapter of the war. Take command of the forces of the Soviet Union and push back the Wehrmacht, for the Motherland!
It is the second installment of the "Red" trilogy of DLCs which put you in the shoes (or boots) of generals like Zhukov or Konev. The new campaign starts just when Red Star ended, and those who want can play Red Star and Red Steel in sequence, importing their savegames from one campaign to the next and retaining their core army, unlocked commanders and specializations.
Red Steel has 16 new scenarios. Action begins in January 1942 with Soviet attacks at Staritsa, still not far from Moscow. During the harsh Russian Winter, you will need to remain on the offensive as the German army staggers, until the tide begins to turn again in spring 1942.
Then we make a little detour to the Crimean Front, which offers a somewhat different challenge due to its peculiar geographical features.
In summer 1942 the Wehrmacht launches a new grand summer offensive which finally leads to the crucial battle of Stalingrad. This battle plays a major role in Red Steel, and the various developments related to it are featured in several scenarios from autumn 1942 to January 1943.
In the last stage of the campaign, the Germans recover again with another victory at Kharkov. The final scenario gives the player a glimpse of the Kuban air battles, where Luftwaffe and VVS - the Soviet air force - clashed in intense air combat with massive numbers of aircraft involved over the Kuban region in the Caucasus.
Red Steel also adds new unlockable Commanders as well as new Specializations focused on the Lend-Lease aid program, allowing you to get access to American and British planes, tanks and trucks.
Order of Battle: Red Steel is bound for release in Q1 2020. You can take part in the Beta by applying here.
Order of Battle: Red Star, the first expansion of a planned trilogy covering the full extent of WWII from the Soviet point of view, has just been released! Get it now and join the Soviet corps!
