We know that much of our audience has been interested in playing this game online with friends. And even though development has halted on the game, we still really want to help people enjoy ORE with friends from far away. So we think we may have found a good solution.
Some very cool people have created a totally free app called Parsec that lets you host remote players on your local machine. Normally we wouldn't promote this sort of thing on our Steam page, but after getting a demo from the Parsec team and trying it ourselves, we were totally blown away at how well it worked for us.
Visit www.parsecgaming.com and watch their super simple instructional video on getting set up - it's as simple as setting up a profile, adding your friends, and launching the game. We recommend the host have strong internet connection, especially on the upload side. With good internet you should have a near-zero latency gaming experience with friends from anywhere. This solution doesn't just work for our games, it works for ALL local-only multiplayer games. But the craziest part is: Parsec is FREE. Definitely worth giving it a shot. Hopefully this helps.
Thanks for all your time and support, and we hope you enjoy ORE!
ORE is Fully Released!
We have officially transitioned out of Early Access and released the full version of the game! In addition to the new features we released last week, you will also see improvements with UI, the single-player experience, a save/load system, and the end-game boss enemy, the "Core Wurm." The game also now works with a larger variety of controllers, and is playable on the Steam Link. Every achievement is unlockable and many more game bugs have been terminated. Thanks for playing ORE and let us know what you think on our discussions board!
Surprise Beta!
Hey everyone, we were so excited to roll out many of our new features that we didn't want to wait until the full release next week. So if you've purchased ORE welcome to the beta! New improvements and additions include: a new enemy, The Buzzer, which shoots long-range projectiles with knockback; two new levels; revamped art and set dressing on many existing levels; a new and improved player hub; lots of new UI elements, including a loading screen; new weapon vfx and balance improvements; improved single-player experience, now also with the ability to respawn oneself; ability for players to control and move their respawn beacons while dead; crash-fixes; a few new sound effects; AND MUSIC!
Still under construction and soon to be patched will be the Steam Achievements (most of these are functional) and autosave system.
Check it out, let us know what you think, and keep an eye out for the full release next week! Also a friendly reminder that if you haven't bought the game yet, you should do so before we raise the price during the full release!
Thanks for playing ORE!
Full Release Imminent!
We'll be transitioning from Early Access to Full Release within the next week or two! We have lots of new things coming, such as two new enemies, balance updates, saving and loading progress, story and game introduction screens, revamped environments, new UI, overarching game loop, a couple new levels and more. We're really excited to roll these new features out to you all, so keep an eye here on Steam as we wrap up development and feel free to ask us questions on the forums. ːsteamhappyː
Early Access Build V2.0!
We've uploaded a new ORE build to Steam Early Access that should be available at this very moment and contains a few big changes. First, we've been able to do some major compression on the game, so now instead of a 6+GB download the entire game is only about 1.5GB. Secondly, we re-engineered a few things that now allow us to roll out patches so that you will no longer have to re-download the full game in order to gain updates. Barring anything unforeseen, we'll be coming out with only patches from here on out. Also, we realized that the first few levels were bugged and especially difficult to play single-player, so we've added a new system that makes single-player mode a bit more forgiving, and have re-balanced the first few levels to fit better with the overall progression of the game. For those that have already downloaded the game before, please delete and uninstall the application and re-download it from Steam in order to see these changes. Thanks for playing, and if you find more bugs just a reminder to please report them in the Bug Hunters discussion forum!
Happy Hunting,
The Couch Cosmonauts
New "Bug Hunters" Forum
We've been away at GDC over the last week and came back to find that our forums were a lot busier than we anticipated! We're deeply apologetic to those who have dealt with our radio-silence and promise to work much harder at being communicative and vigilant going forward. For our first order of business we created a new "Bug Hunters" forum where players should post any in-game bugs they find with as much detail as they can. More detail is always preferred since that's what helps us attempt to recreate the problem on our end. We will attempt to fix the bugs that we find and roll out those fixes in future patches.
Thanks for playing, ORE!
The Price Has Been Lowered! Welcome to Early Access!
So Steam approved our new price of $1 down 90% from our previous price so we've officially announced the Early Access release across all our social media. Just a heads up, as stated in our Early Access FAQ the price of the game will increase once we release the full version in around six weeks. Otherwise please leave us reviews and give us feedback because your input could end up changing parts of our game as we wrap up development. Please also share the game with friends, stream, and have fun!
ORE is up, but...
Hello! As you all might have noticed, ORE is now in Early Access! This is great and we're so excited for you all to start playing the game. But more importantly, you probably also noticed that it's $10. Don't worry, this was a mistake on our end and we're working with Steam on bringing the price down. So, if you'd like you COULD buy the game now, but we recommend waiting a few more days until the price drops substantially. Thank you all for your patience, we're looking forward to your participation in getting this game ready to release, and again we're really sorry!
