Outbreak Weekly Dev Update!
Hey Survivors! We're back again for another weekly update!
Outbreak: The New Nightmare Updates
After our launch on Steam Greenlight a few weeks back, development on Outbreak: The New Nightmare has continued at break neck speeds! Let's take a quick look and don't forget to vote for us on Steam Greenlight (and tell your friends)!
What's the release plan for Outbreak: The New Nightmare?
We're happy to announce that our plans for releasing O:TNN is to release on Steam Early Access as soon as we're able. Our plan is to develop this title fully with community feedback and ensure that this game becomes the best it can be. Once we've cleared Steam Greenlight, we'll provide more information about an anticipated release date. The goal is to make the initial offering meaty and then continue to add content, enhancements and fixes over time until it reaches a point where we can have a full release. Keep sharing the Greenlight page with your friends! We appreciate the support!
The Cast
The first four survivors of Outbreak: The New Nightmare have been announced! Right now in the pre-alpha build, they have many of the traits of the original four survivors from Outbreak. Expect these to get remixed in new ways before release, but this is just a preview of the beginning of the cast!
Gore and Explosions
Outbreak: The New Nightmare has been going through significant graphical polishing, including an all new particle blood system and meaty explosions! You'll feel the full force of the gory apocalypse when you land hits or launch a grenade round into a crowd of the undead!
Multiplayer - The Heart of the Experience
We're happy to announce that multiplayer is now fully implemented in our pre-alpha build for all of the supported game functionality. This is a major step and we were fortunately able to reuse a lot of infrastructure from the original Outbreak to propel progress forward! Keep an eye out for a multiplayer video sometime in the next week or so!
Hey, what about those Xbox One and Windows Store ports of Outbreak?
We're still working on releasing those ports and are actively trying to get them out as soon as possible. No rough ETA just yet, but we'll update as soon as we know more about a definitive release date.
Thank you!
Thank you again for continuing to play and support the Outbreak series. We're very excited about showing off new features, levels, enhancements and much more! Keep telling your friends!

Outbreak (3D): The New Nightmare Announced! (Vote on Greenlight!)
We've been very quiet the last few weeks, but with very good reason. The dream was always to create new survival horror experiences and we're happy to announce that Outbreak: The New Nightmare is now on Steam Greenlight! Please vote for us here!.
Outbreak: The New Nightmare brings the most requested thing from our fans: Full 3D HD glory. Return to the roots of survival horror with fixed cinematic camera angles, crushing difficulty and all of the modern trappings. Outbreak evolves from 2D to 3D with almost all of the existing gameplay elements in-tact and greatly expanded on. You'll face new crushing foes, new puzzles, new interactions and fight alongside a brand new cast of characters.
This is an important step towards the dream of returning to classic co-op survival horror. Please vote for us on Greenlight and share this with your friends. Purchasing Outbreak on Steam directly supports this effort. It's a gamble, because we didn't make back the budget on Outbreak. So we're on a wire-thin budget trying to get this done.
We'll be trying to get Outbreak: The New Nightmare out on Steam Early Access in 2017! Thank you for your support and continue playing Outbreak!
Outbreak Weekend Dev Update
Hey Survivors!
Checking with the regular weekly update on Outbreak happenings!
Outbreak is now available at a lower price!
Earlier this week, we permanently reduced the price of Outbreak by about 33% (~$9.99 USD, but will vary in other currencies). The price was lowered based on feedback from the community, but also because of the upcoming releases of Outbreak on Xbox One and Windows Store. Those versions will be a bit different from the Steam release and this price change is intended to bring us into sync with those platforms.
So what's happening with the Xbox One and Windows Store ports?
All of the development time in the last week has been focused on finishing those ports and getting them into shape to release on these platforms. We're hard at work with Microsoft to get the final polish in place, then get approval for release. You'll be earning Xbox Live achievements in no time, so stay tuned!
And just one more tease...
We're also very hard at work on a special surprise, but it's still a ways out. We won't say anything to spoil it, but when it gets revealed we think you'll be very pleased. The most exciting days for Outbreak are still ahead of us!
Thank you!
Have a great week and keep sharing Outbreak with your friends! It's been great to see the hundreds of new players in the last few weeks! Thanks again for supporting the game!
Outbreak is now available at a lower price!
We're excited to announce that Outbreak is now available at a permanent lower price point! We've slashed it to $9.99 USD (but it will vary based on other currencies) which is about 33% off!
Why did we drop the price? One of the largest reasons is to ensure that the community will continue to grow! We saw an amazing interest during the recent Outbreak spring sale and we want to help keep that momentum! Outbreak's lower price makes it easier for friends to jump in (or to gift to them)!
The other major reason is we're aligning the price to be more in-line with the upcoming Xbox One and WIndows Store ports of Outbreak. News on those versions isn't too far off, but they'll be a bit different (we'll share more news soon!). This price point allows us to reach greater consistency across all of the ecosystems where Outbreak will be available.
Thanks again for all of your support for the game! It's been exciting to see the hundreds of new folks playing in the last few weeks alone! Keep sharing the game with friends and continue to post feedback on the message boards! And if you feel Outbreak deserves it, a positive Steam review is very appreciated!
Thanks! :outbreakzombie:

Weekly Dev Update - 3/26/2017
Hi Survivors!
Outbreak is 50% off through April 4th!
Outbreak has been on sale for a few days and will be through April 4th! We've seen an explosive growth in the number of players on the game, which has been awesome! Please continue to share Outbreak with your friends and get them in on this deal while it lasts. I am closely monitoring the sales data as I continue to refine an appropriate long-term price point for the game. My #1 goal is to get a large, stable community built around Outbreak and ensure everyone has an opportunity to play the game!
Don't forget! There's an Outbreak Demo available for free on the main store page so you can try the game before you buy! It's a single-player demo featuring the tutorial scenario and a small portion of the Captive nightmares scenario.
What's the developer working on right now?
I'm currently hard at work on the Xbox One and Windows Store ports for Outbreak. These versions are coming along very well and are fully playable in single-player mode now. I'm working on integrating requirements for each platform and ensuring bugs are getting squashed. The effort I'm putting into the ports will unfortunately mean I'm not generating content right now (I'm only one person!), so it'll be a while before we see the next scenario or character drop. But they'll be coming down the road!
Patches and Fixes
In the last week, we've released a series of patches to address a few bugs folks have been finding. These fixes include:
Addressed an exploit in the Triage Onslaught scenario.
Added additional enemy spawn points to the Triage Onslaught scenario.

In-game text chat will not accidentally build barricades or toggle your flashlight.
Addressed incorrect enemy spawn times in the Enkindle finale.
Better handling for music across the game when ambiance is disabled and enabled during gameplay.
Enemies now respond better when they kill their target.
Increased difficulty in Onslaught by accelerating enemy spawning.
Kass being inside of CO2 poison rooms no longer spams audio.
Fixed an issue in the multiplayer lobby where selecting a player then typing text in the chat box would cause unexpected behavior.
Fixed an issue where Muting players in the Multiplayer Lobby would not carry over into the game.
Fixed an issue where objective markers would incorrectly show on the Clear Nightmares scenario.
