Hey guys, this is George. Earlier this week, Sam made an announcement on our blog concerning the The Lost Postcards competition. Sharing here for you --
Hi all, Sam here.
We got some superb feedback on how we were previously running the Lost Postcards fan competition; Where anyone can submit an Over the Alps themed ink story and we’ll publish it as part of our new Itch.io page of short stories.
In short, we got it wrong! The way we’d designed the competition meant that a unsuccessful submitter might have written 10,000 words and then be unpaid, which really wasn’t fair.
That wasn’t our intention at all, but we had overlooked this possibility and I’m very sorry. We’re now addressing this issue by changing the rules of our competition:
Aspiring writers should send in a three sentence proposal of the story they’d like to write to postcards@stavestudios.com.
We’ll then select three of these proposals to commission and give feedback on those we don’t.
We’ve increased the rate to £75 to these commissioned stories.
We’ve also included a final proposal date (8th of July).
For those who have started work on an submission before this change, please contact us ASAP at the above email address and we’ll sort you out.
You can find more information about the competiton here.
All credit to Austin Kelmore and Hannah Rose on Twitter who alerted us to the previous setup’s flaws. Thanks both!
I hope this will make the competition fairer, and more fun, for everyone. If anyone ever has any further feedback or ideas, we’re always open to hear them. Please contact us on Twitter, via email or in the blog comments below.
The war has finally caught up to us... We’re thrilled to announce the third and final chapter in the trilogy,
THE DEVIL’S QUILL!
Play as the mysterious Aubrey and experience a world at war! Meet old friends and make new ones as you hunt for a traitor within the secret service.
From distant deserts to familiar Switzerland, this final update features new locations and new stamps, police, and character art.
What’s the true purpose of the postcards? Blow the dust off your hat and straighten your sunglasses—time to take the fight to the Nazis and their collaborators in this thrilling end to the Over the Alps trilogy.
The Devil’s Quill update will automatically become available on Steam later this year.
BUT THE STORY DOESN’T END HERE…
As is always the case with history, many interesting stories are often lost. This time around, you can help us recover them!
We’re excited to announce Over the Alps:The Lost Postcards.
Starting today, we’re releasing the untold tales of Over the Alps, beginning with our first story – All’s Fair in the City of Love, by our very own Harry Tuffs.
These ‘mini’ adventures are fully playable on our website, with our second story coming in July. But we need your help in the war effort! If you fancy yourself a writer, you could be penning the very next chapter in the Over the Alps adventure.
We’re looking for talented writers, who feel they can create their own short story within INK – anything up to 10k words.
Send in your submissions on the Over the Alps website, and we’ll pay writers £50 for every story we use. So, if you’re familiar with INK and have a great story to tell within the Over the Alps universe, we’d love to see it!
Send us your stories at ➡️ www.overthealpsgame.com/lostpostcards
Thank you for your continuous support!

Attention, Agents! As the Holidays hit, it’s time to switch off from work and school, and relax into some well-deserved time-off playing great video games! Players looking to dive into a world of espionage in Over The Alps will find plenty to love, as we’ve worked diligently over 2020 to bring new content and updates to the game!
In June, we added King of the Mountain, a free update that doubles the length of the game with an intriguing second story, set a year before the events of the core experience. In King of the Mountain, players will take the role of Annie Taylor, a British spy called away from Paris to attend the Swiss Grand Prix to help tackle enemy Nazi agents and other shady happenings.
A Test of Character, a major technical update included with Over The Alps free of charge, includes more than 10,000 words of original written content, an updated Clues system, and the brand new Complications feature; short stories that will test which stamps you’ve opted for throughout the game, and add additional story branches to the game.
With already so much to look forward to and at its best price ever, Over The Alps is an absorbing experience that’s only going to get better from here on out. With new content due next year and two enveloping stories to lose yourself in, it’s time to get yourself to Switzerland this winter, agent, and enjoy journeys that’ll transport you to one of the world’s wintriest and intriguing locations this Holiday!
