Version 0.3 is out!

It took a bit longer than expected but for this update we had to go back to the drawing board, start from scratch and rearrange the game a little bit.

We are back on track and this update is setting the base for the game and defining the gameplay.

What you will experience in this update is just the beginning. The focus of the version 0.3 is gameplay and due to the amount of changes, fixes, and new features that will come with it, it will be split into multiple smaller and more frequent updates following this one.

Related to that, in the following days, we will be releasing the roadmap that will outline the plan for the updates and their content.

CHANGES:


- Added Spirit Box item
- Added gameplay hints through Spirit Box
- Estes Method radio and Spirit Board cannot be put in inventory
- Fixed various issues with Estes Method radio
- UV lamp item overall improvement
- Added Key item for doors, which can be put in inventory
- Music Box item visuals improved
- Session will spawn only Estes Method radio or Spirit Board
- Bells, Music Box, Motion Ball are procedurally spawned somewhere on the map

- Redesigned rooms on the map

What's coming in version 0.3!

We watched some of you play, we collected all the feedback we got so far and based on that, we are working on a new update that will further define gameplay and core mechanics.

As we are redesigning the game a little bit with this update, some things might be removed or replaced but the main focus is on adding new features and mechanics.

Here are the focus points of this update:

  • Different interaction with the Bad Ghosts through their mini games and challenges
  • Increasing interactivity with the Good Ghosts and clearly defining their purpose
  • Redesign of the Guide


We are planning to release the update in the coming weeks.

Version 0.2 is out!

This version is focused on helping you to learn the game and how to play it by introducing Guide, Tooltips and Challenges.
Along with that, we tweaked Ghost parameters to make it a bit easier and more beginner friendly.

Added:
- Guide:

  • OverNight session guide
  • Ghosts mechanics and Communication
  • Energy Fields
  • Items and Haunted Items

- HUD:

  • Interaction tooltips
  • Equipped Items tooltips
  • Activity icons

- Challenges:

  • Introduction of challenges to help you survive the OverNight and get to know the mechanics better
  • Introduction of Journal that gives you the overview of the challenge


Improvements/Fixes:
- Ghost mechanics:

  • Improved Ghost summoning rules to be more predictable
  • Slowed down the Ghost to increase the chance of detection and survival
  • Heartbeat is now happening only on Ghost attack
  • Added possibility to avoid the Ghost attack by running away
  • Introduction of the Bad Ghost haunting level
  • Ghost appear stops when the Ghost is released

- Ghost communication:

  • Added jumpscare tied to communication with the Ghost
  • Cooldown for opening communication
  • Fixed Ghost appearance during the communication

- Player:

  • Increased stamina for 30%

- Items:

  • Separated pickup/interact and drop actions
  • Spirit Board:

    • Added EMF reader

  • Estes Method:

    • Fixed various minor usability issues

  • Bells:

    • Removed Ghost appear notify while in inventory
    • Removed Bad Ghost anger on Ghost appear notify


- Haunted Items:

  • Coffin:

    • Added Coffin haunted interaction by stepping inside

What's coming in version 0.2!

We heard you and we are working on the update to address the feedback.
So heads up, here's what coming in version 0.2 planned for this week:

- Detailed guide on how to play the game, game rules, ghost mechanics and how to use the equipment
- Adding tooltips to the HUD for interactions and items
- Introduction of challenges to help you survive the OverNight and get to know the mechanics better

- Fixing and improving the Ghost summoning
- Modifying the Ghost appear mechanics by adding safe zones and slowing down the Ghost to increase the chance of detection and survival
- Summoned Ghost will have the haunting level, which helps to determine when the Ghost is angry or ready to attack

- Adding Ghost appearance during the communication with the Ghost
- Small improvements to items for communication with the Ghosts

- Separating pickup/drop actions for easier use
- Minor bug fixes for the inventory actions
