Paladin's Passage

Paladin's Passage Developer Update

After our participation in the summer 2022 Steam Next Fest events, we decided to pull back from a 2022 launch and focus on the feedback we'd received from those who played the Paladin's Passage demo and from a number of other developers, publishers and marketing companies who reached out both during the event and in the weeks that followed. In the 8 months that followed, we have made significant progress in some key areas
- Levels are much brighter and more dynamic, providing a better experience for players
- Steam Workshop integration is ready to go with a brand new, fully 3D level editor
- Support for Steam Deck is complete for both native and streamed gameplay
- Artwork, animations, effects and gameplay have all be re-worked

In addition, we're bringing on an experienced level designer (Ray) to the team to help create some new ideas for both the puzzle and platform game aspects. He has his work cut out for him: the game ships with over 100 levels!

Our goal is to finish everything up for a late-summer 2023 launch, so we're only weeks away! Stay tuned for more details...

TEST OF Developer Livestream: Gameplay and Q&A Event for Paladin's Passage

This is a test broadcast, the first time we are doing this, in preparation for Steam NextFest.

Bent Vector Studios will be hosting a live broadcast event to show off the gameplay of our upcoming title: Paladin's Passage. I'll be available to answer any questions you have about the game and game development in general.

Watch a play-through for a bunch of levels and get answers any questions you have about the game itself and development in general. We'll be playing a full version of the game, not the demo, so you'll have a chance to see some features not available until the game gets into Early Access, including some new levels, the level editor, achievements, leaderboards and more.

Learn more about the story behind the game, the development process, the story of how it came to be and how it has iterated numerous times over the development lifecycle.

Find out what we're planning for the Early Access stage starting on June 21st, including new features, platforms and online gameplay plans.

Paladin's Passage Playtest Beta 2 now available for testing

This release includes a completely new menu system and some new backgrounds and levels. I'd love feedback on the new menus, especially the display and graphics configurations.

Level backgrounds have been changed so each level is different now, however these are still placeholders as I work on final artwork. I also have a new model for the main player, a wonderful dwarf Paladin in full armor with a massive hammer!

I've added music to each level; Some wonderful medieval instrumental music; close enough for my purposes.

Paladin's Passage Playtest

Thank you to everyone for their interest in the Paladin's Passage playtest. We've had quite a few people indicate interest in participating in the testing process today. I am going to push a new build to the playtest in the next few hours and then open things up for people to access it.

This first beta will have a limited number of levels (roughly 24), so we're mostly looking for feedback on how the game runs on your Windows PC, if you can provide it:
- Did you have fun playing the game?
- Any problems with installation?
- Did the game launch correctly and take you to the start page?
- Did the default settings of 1920x1080/60Hz video resolution work correctly?
- Were you able to try different resolutions and/or video settings?
- How was the overall performance?

In addition, there are two game modes: classic and modern. Please try out both and let us know what you think:
- Difficulty levels are not currently enabled (though you get asked to pick one). How did you find the difficulty of the gameplay?
- Animations, textures and particle effects are not final artwork. What do you think of the current artwork?

Thanks for your support!
