Paleo Pines 2025 Roadmap Update
I just wanted to give you a quick but important update on our upcoming Kickstarter and our roadmap in general. We're experiencing a delay in launching the campaign as we're currently in ongoing discussions with our publisher to finalise details around the campaign that will require their support. Our aim is to secure their full support to ensure we can deliver on all the exciting additions we've got planned for the game but this is taking longer than originally anticipated.
We believe in being completely transparent with you all, and we want you to know that we're working hard on our end to move these discussions forward as quickly as possible.
On a related note, we know many of you are eager for the plushie duo! While we're incredibly excited for you to see them, we've decided to prioritize the Kickstarter campaign to give it our complete focus. This means the plushie duo release will be delayed and is now expected in August.

Paleo Pines Player's Choice - First Stage of Fundraising 🐱🏍
As so many of you know, we are going to be launching a Kickstarter to fund new content in Paleo Pines. The very first step towards this campaign is now live and you’re able to become a Paleo Pines VIP for $1 (set as low as possible to keep it accessible to everyone!).
What IS the VIP Programme?
You’re probably wondering what exactly is the VIP programme? Well let us explain! This is a space where we’ll be sharing exclusive behind the scenes content, where you’ll get to chat directly with our team, and have priority access to limited edition rewards before anyone else! Not to mention you will receive a unique in-game item that is ONLY available to VIP members! Plus a fancy VIP role on our Discord server, and access to a VIP ONLY Facebook group!
Using this VIP membership is a tried and tested technique for us to build up a community around the campaign in the hopes of achieving as many of our goals as possible. It’s typically used pre-campaigns as a way of validating interest. We KNOW there’s a lot of interest from you guys, so at first it didn't seem necessary for us to have a VIP programme, but after thinking about it a little more we fell in love with the idea of hosting an exclusive special place to talk all things Kickstarter with you - plus this is a fun way to thank you for your early commitment for the campaign!
We’re calling the extension pack Paleo Pines: Players’ Choice because everything we’re planning on offering is based on what you’ve asked for over the years and it’s with your support that we will make it happen!

FAQs
- "Does the e-mail I use have to match the e-mail of my discord account to get the VIP role?"
No, it doesn't! E-mails will be sent out to receive the information of the discord account you wish to attach the VIP role to, and the role will be manually applied by the team. - "I can't use credit card, but it's the only option, is there any other way?"
We are looking into potentially seeing if any other payment methods (such as Paypal) can be unlocked for the VIP system, but it is not guaranteed. You can however use a debit card if you have access to one! - "How long will the VIP reserves be open for?"
There is no specific date on when the VIP reserves will close, but they are guaranteed to be up for at least another week, if not more! - "I don't want to join the facebook group, will I miss out on VIP content?"
No! All of the posts that go into the VIP facebook group will also go into the VIP specific channel within discord, you won't miss out on anything!

We have a tiny wee update today, say hello to Paleo Pines version 1.5.17!

There's only one notable fix in version 1.5.17, and we want to extend (and encourage!) a huge thanks to our former Tech Lead, Rob, for taking the time to get this particular bug fixed for us.
- Fixed dino tracking quests not correctly spawning the dino, which could lead to players getting stuck in place.
As we hope you all know, we're gearing up to launch our Kickstarter soon, and hopefully we'll be able to welcome the full team back then!
Thank you all for your patience in this tricky time for the studio, we're not giving up on Paleo Pines yet either.

April Roadmap Update 📅
Can you believe it's already April?! 🌷 Our little team has been super busy getting ready for our Kickstarter, we're launching our VIP program in just a few days! Keep your eyes peeled for that! 👀
We also want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has participated in our Power of Peaceful Play research! Your insights are incredible, and it's amazing to see how much cozy gaming means to all of you. 💖 If you haven't filled in your survey yet, there's still plenty of time, and we'll send out another email blast in the final week of it being open.
We did have a little bump in the road with our vinyl Lucky not getting funded, which is a bit of a bummer😔 It means we might have to get a little creative with our Kickstarter promotion, but we're staying positive and pushing forward, knowing we have such an awesome community supporting us! 💪
Looking ahead, we've got a super cute plushie duo coming your way! ✨ And... drumroll please... we're launching on TWO new gaming platforms this week! Stay tuned for the big reveal! 🥳

Paleo Pines 2025 Roadmap 🗺
We're so happy to be able to share our 2025 roadmap with everyone. It's taken time to solidify our plans for the year, and we appreciate your patience.
We've been open about the challenges we've faced as a studio, and we're thrilled at the possibility of reuniting some of the original team to bring more content to Paleo Pines! We want to be totally transparent with everyone - in late 2024 when things were particularly bleak, we really considered shuttering the project altogether. The financial and emotional strain was significant. However, after careful consideration, we realized that stopping wouldn't be fair to our dedicated team or our supportive community.
So much passion has been poured into this project, and your support through plushie and merch sales has been instrumental in keeping us going. We're still here and we're completely rejuvenated to make things happen this year!
Our vibe for 2025 is all about collaborating with our players more closely than ever before through our Kickstarter, our Research Project and more! Thank you so much for still being here and we hope to do you proud this year.
Thank you a million times over for your patience as we've found our way. This community continues to be an inspiration to us 💙

The Power of Peaceful Play | A Research Project
We want to share something exciting with you all- We’ve received a small amount of funding* to undertake a research project into the power of wholesome gaming, and Paleo Pines in particular, on emotional and mental health, with a focus on neurodiverse/neurodivergent players! This research will be done through online surveys, both quantitative and qualitative.
We want to find out what parts of wholesome/cosy/peaceful gaming really promote relaxation, focus, and other positive emotions, and this research will help us identify which game design elements may contribute to this positive impact to inform future game development, both for Paleo Pines and the wider gaming industry.
This first survey is a short one to gather some broader information, and to collect interest in the next surveys!
