Massively rebalanced the starting item pool, removing many mediocre items from it
Nerfed Whole Milk to have 1 pierce instead of 3
Buffed Spear Bullets to give +1 pierce

BIG BAD BOSSES BETA!!!
Hey everyone! It's been awhile but I'm excited to announce that Paper Planet's first major content update is almost ready!
For testing purposes we're setting a public beta of the update live. This beta adds NINE new bosses, new unlockable "cores", and tons of QoL and balance tweaks (and soon some new items and achievements too).
The update is set to release the 13th of May, but we're looking to get some beta testers to help squish bugs and give feedback before the final release. If this interests you, you can opt into the beta in the game's properties tab under "betas" in your Steam Library.
If you have any feedback or find any bugs please join the community discord to tell us about it! It means a lot and it's very helpful for making this update as quality as we can.
You can join the Discord here: https://discord.gg/bjvQXAFZTx
Thanks so much for your continued support of the game, I know it's been awhile since the game has gotten any new content but I hope it's worth the wait!

Paper Planet is on sale NOW! Get just 1 copy of the game for 30% off, and play co-op with 1-3 additional players using Steam Remote Play Together!
Paper Planet launched in August 2023. Unity, the engine Paper Planet was made in, melted down in real time in September 2023. Needless to say, confidence in our post-launch support plans was severely shaken. But Doodlegames has been coming back at Paper Planet anew in 2024, and are cooking up a nice juicy update!
(An early look at a battle with a new boss)
ROADMAP-ish
The first update will be pushing for greater replayability, primarily through additional boss battles! How exactly those fold into the game is very fun, but I don't want to share too much at this time ;)
New items, achievements and (hopefully) planets are in the works.
We'd still really like to re-add the dialogue system for bosses! But it's a cost we need to carefully consider now that the game supports different localizations. AND the scale of that implementation is about to balloon significantly...
From there we have a few larger plans for the game that we're just beginning to explore.
We've been thrilled with the reception of Paper Planet, and it feels great to be in a position to support the game further, and to give back in this way! Come hang out in the Discord for the latest word on upcoming updates.
FLASH GAMES FAN?
It is my pleasure to share the triumphant return of the classic Flash series, William and Sly, has set a date for February 26th! Please be sure to give that a Wishlist.
A shared loved of Flash games is a big part of why I think Paper Planet was such a strong fit for 2 Left Thumbs as a publisher. And I hope for support of Flash classics to be a long standing pillar of this publishing label! If you're new to William and Sly, you can play the original titles for Free now!
A little over 3 years ago, I announced publicly that 2 Left Thumbs would be entering the indie game scene as a publisher, helping to bring Dead Estate to Steam! Never could I have guess what a smash hit that game would be.
Using that as a proper jumping off point, I worked hard to find promising new indies in need of some extra support. And as of today, there are 8 released titles in that catalog, with many more to come! It's my greatest privilege to be able to herald these great developers and their games, and to help them reach new audiences.
Unfortunately, due to some conflicting sales dates, Paper Planet is NOT on sale this weekend :( However, you can still get the game at a discounted rate as a part of several bundles.
PUBLISHER SALE
To celebrate this amazing milestone, the entire 2 Left Thumbs catalog is discounted! Several games are running their deepest ever discounts, while Picayune Dreams is running it's first ever sale!
If you want to REALLY show your support, the Micro-Publisher Mega-Supporter Bundle offers ALL these games together with an additional25% off!!
If everything together is a bit much, I understand. There are a variety of bundles being run during this sale, designed to group together games I predict will have overlapping audiences.
Every bundle is a "Complete the bundle" style, meaning even if you own 1+ of the games, you can still buy the bundle for an additional discount without re-purchasing the game(s) you already own!!
If an existing save doesn't sync to the cloud, just load into it in-game, and toggle "Unlock Everything" on and off, or something else that'll edit the save file. Steam will notice and sync it properly.
We're constantly looking for feedback and bugs - you can either post them here on Steam, or join our Discord for much faster reply times.
We're Back! (Small Update)
Paper Planet is 20% Off for the Bullet Heaven Fest!
You can buy the game alongside another hit roguelike, Heretic's Fork, for 28% off both titles!

WE EMERGE FROM OUR SLUMBER
Hey everyone! We're back from our much-needed vacations and working on the game again! Though we're still revving our engines, we've gotten together a small update with 7 new items for ya.
(A preview of the new items)
Changelog:
- Added Ms Slashy - Added Tornado - Added Panic Button - Added Mysterious Potion - Added Mysterious Cake - Added Queen's Scepter - Added Six Shooter - Reworked Tyrant's Crown to have normal bullets follow charged bullets more closely - Increased the homing strength of Lockon Radar
So what's next?
While the pace of development may be a little slower due to Karl and I trying to start our professional lives (we're both in our early twenties), we're planning to re-add a more comprehensive version of the boss dialogue from the demo, add new alternate boss forms that the player can encounter, experiment with adding some form of item rerolling to the game, and squash some of the bug reports that have been building up while we've been on break.
Other things we've been considering but have not made any plans to implement are: - An endless mode - Online co-op - Greater modding support
We can't make any promises for these features due to the uncertain status of our availability and the Unity game engine as a whole, and if they are added it will likely be far into the future, but we would still like to see them implemented if possible.
And of course thank you guys for your continued support of Paper Planet! We never thought the game would go this far when we started it as a hobby project in high school, and we're excited to see what the future holds for us.
Sincerely, Will and Karl
