With the announcement of Steam Remote Play Together, Paperbound has been updated to make it easier to find folks to play online with!
The game now has a button that will take you to a Discord channel set up specifically to find other people to play with. Pop in, introduce yourself, and find people to add to your Steam friends list so you can play with.
Steam Remote Play Together will work regardless of whether you want to play the campaign in coop or jump straight into any of the free play modes.
I'd love to know your experience with this awesome new Steam feature, so feel free to reply with any constructive or positive comments!

More Twitch features! Betting and streamlined connection
Maybe you saw that we recently gave Twitch viewers the power to vote on mutators that affect the game when you're streaming it.
Now there's also the ability for viewers to bet on who will win the next match. Each viewer starts off with 1000 credits that they can wager with commands like "bet 25 eddy". Or type "balance" to check your balance.
You can enable voting and betting individually or turn them both on. We've also streamlined it so that it will automatically connect to Twitch when you load the game if you have either option enabled.
Twitch Mutator Voting
Howdy howdy!
Paperbound just got an update that adds features for Twitch streaming! When you are streaming, you can have the viewers in your chat channel vote on which mutator will apply to the next game when you enter an arena. And if there is any other streaming-related functionality you want, let us know!
We'll continue streamlining the process setting up Twitch integration, but right now the process is this:
1) Go to Options->Twitch.
2) Enter your account details, including the oauth code. (https://twitchapps.com/tmi/).
3) When you hit connect, it will save what you entered, connect to Twitch, and then attempt to connect to your channel.
4) When it says "Connected", you know that it's working. Your stream has to be active to be able to connect to the channel.
5) When you go to enter an arena (in Free for All, Team, or Campaign modes), it will show a voting screen that updates dynamically as people enter votes in chat. The voting screen will let viewers choose between two randomly-chosen mutators.
The next time you load up Paperbound and go back to the Twitch options menu, your settings will be saved, and you only have to hit Connect. Your oauth code will be hidden unless you modify it.
When voting is live, there will also be messages in the chat telling viewers what the voting options are (this helps mitigate the streaming delay). Theses messages will come from whatever account you used in the Twitch options menu. It may be useful to set up a separate "bot" account.
Note: You should pick a voting duration that allows enough time for people to vote after accounting for the streaming delay (typically about 12-15 seconds).
Please share your feedback on how this works for you and if there are any other features that would help you have an awesome stream!
Campaign Mode And More Added in Big Update
A big update just hit Steam. It adds a campaign mode for 1 or 2 players and a bunch of other goodies! We know that you don't always have friends over to play, so the campaign mode is there to give you another way to enjoy Paperbound.
Plus we added some other game modes and ways to modify existing game modes.
Here's the full list of additions:
A new campaign that lets 1 or 2 players work together in a series of challenges across all 18 arenas. The campaign mode all includes 2 new, campaign-specific game types: Stalwart and Gatekeeper (more on these below).
New mutators allows you to mix it up with things like weapon pickups, infinite ink bombs, vampire mode, or a variety of other edits to give you a lot of new stories to tell.
Random match rotation that picks random game type, arena, and mutators in free play
Added a secret soccer mode...
Improvements to AI navigation and behavior, including difficulty levels
Some visual changes to add clarity, such as larger glows for exit points and an option to decrease background color saturation (some players experienced a bit of difficulty tracking the fast-paced action, so this should help them out).
Gatekeeper is much like your classic tower defense. A bunch of baddies spawn, and you have to prevent them from reaching any of the exit points that randomly spawn in the arena. But they have laser-like focus on getting to those exit point.
Stalwart is similar, but each enemy has to kill you once before opening their own personal exit point.
Mouse input support (gamepad is still the best way to play, but we discovered that not everyone has one handy)
Updated campaign mode, random rotation, and secret mode in Beta
Hey, everyone,
If you've opted into the beta (which you can still do by right clicking on the game in Steam), then you'll see the near-final form of the campaign, plus some other goodies like a "Random Rotation" mode that chooses random game type, arena, and mutators for each match. There's also a secret mode hidden in the game :)
The campaign includes a couple of new game modes--Gatekeeper and Stalwart that pit you against waves of enemies. In Gatekeeper, enemies don't attack you but try to go for exit tears. You must let no more than 3 escape in any wave. Stalwart sees your face off against waves or enemies that are coming for you. When any enemy kills you even once, his/her tear opens. You can't let even a single enemy escape.
That's it for now. Enjoy!

Update: AI and Long Live the King changes
Hi, everyone,
A new update has just been pushed which makes the AI smarter in maps with rotating elements (for example, The Book of Earth and Ribcrusher). Additionally, some fixes have been made to the end-game for Long Live the King.
Enjoy!
