Hello Heisters!



We are gearing up for new adventures in 2021, new heists, guns and much more are coming to the game this year, and we start off with a weapon and weapon color pack. Jiu Feng has a shipment of guns coming into port right now and you are the first one to get the offer.

Jiu Feng Smuggler Pack


San Francisco, a port that bridges between the east and the west and the home turf of the smuggler Jiu Feng. He brings a brand new DLC with lots of contraband that reflect this duality. He starts off his offer with 3 new weapons. The Mosconi 12G Tactical Shotgun, a powerful weapon when used up close and personal against any ill-advised opponent. The AK Gen 21 Tactical Submachine gun, one or two firearms, perfect firearm handling escalating situations abruptly and with a barrage of bullets. The Crosskill Chunky Compact Pistol one or two little get-out-of-trouble free cards to keep in your sleeve when the cops are after you and the neighbourhood is starting to look unfriendly.

However Jiu Feng is a business man and he knows a good business deal starts with a good offer so he brings even more to the table. 20 new weapon colors that take inspiration from both sides of the great ocean. He even has one extra weapon color for you that you will be able to try out right away for free.

Infamy 3.1


We are adding rewards for infamy rank 66 to 81. We are also combining some rewards for these ranks. Weapon colors and heist join stingers will be rewarded together on the same rank. The Suit variants, Gloves and Masks will have their own ranks. Among these rewards, 4 color variants for a new suit design will be available to unlock.

Upcoming Gameplay Changes


We are gonna look deeper into the gameplay experience this year. First thing is tweaking gunplay a bit, we are gonna release an open beta soon, date to be announced in an upcoming announcement and on our twitter. We will invite all our heisters to take part and leave feedback. You will, of course, be able to use your new guns in the beta as well.

PAYDAY 2: Update 202

Happy Heisty Year!



The holiday event is now over and the XP event bonus on the Christmas-themed heists are no longer available. The special Christmas decorated heists are back to normal and the same goes for all the holiday versions of certain sounds and the main menu.

All content that was released in the last update will stay in the game. If you did not get around to picking up all the presents in the Mexican heists to unlock the Mega Sangres mask, Fear not, you can still get a hold of the mask. The presents won’t go away.

A New Face


Some may say Mr. 46 has changed a lot between the time he posed for his portrait and when the mask was made. Some may say they are not even the same person. But most would agree, you don't want to see someone entering a bank with a smile like that... and a mini-gun.

He has a big sack of loot and he is bringing it back to the safe house. Gather close my dear heisters and see what he has for you. There are some awesome gifts for all the naughty heisters out there.

Gift of the year


Is there anything that says December 2020 more than a mask? No, no there isn't. That is why we’ll start off this update with some masks, more masks, and even more masks. Did you notice the cool-looking masks in Buluc’s Mansion? Well, now you can wear them as well. We bring all 8 masks straight into your inventory.

Did you think 8 more masks were a lot of masks? We didn’t. Were you happy with normal masks? We weren’t. We bring you one extra mask, a mega special mask to round off our adventures in Mexico. Find some secret presents hidden all over Mexico to unlock the awesome Mega Sangres mask. Can you achieve the feat of finding all the presents?

Looking ahead


There is nothing as cool as a skilled sniper shot, especially if you take the shot without any magnification aid. If you feel iron sights is the way to go when you need to take those extras long shots then you can now equip an iron sight on the “Bernetti Rangehitter Sniper Rifle”.

If you rather want to make sure that every shot counts and want to make sure you hit those sweet headshots every time we get you covered. With a new red dot sight, you can make sure your shots are true and deadly. You can now equip the “Compact Tactical Box Sight” on your favorite weapon and celebrate the holidays in the only way that counts, with a body count.

I need your clothes, your gun and your jingle bells


Do you want your weapons to spew out season-appropriate holiday joy in addition to hot lead? Then we got the weapon color for you. Bring on the festive spirit with the “Winter Cheer” weapon color and spread the joy to someone.

The mysterious seasonal figure might have brought a lot of gifts in this update. But a true heister knows there is always some extra loot. With a new Santa outfit (payday style) you too can feel in tune with the season. The suit comes in two variants "Ho Ho Heister" and "Dirty Santa", they are listed as two separate suits in the interface.

We round off the list of content for this update with a new stinger. You can now choose to use the seasonal appropriate join stinger “Jingle Schwing”. You don’t even need to go infamous to use it.

Heisting through the snow


Any heisters with new toys will want to jump into action and we expect you are no different. May we suggest any of the holiday-themed heists we have in the game. All these heists will give an extra exp bonus if played during the holiday season. This also includes the seasonal versions of Hoxton Breakout and Breakin' Feds that make a return but also one extra heist that has been decorated for the season.

Normalized Skin Drop Chance


We are normalizing the drop chances of our weapon skins, this will address issues where some skins were very rare despite being of blue or purple tier and some legendaries dropped with higher frequency than lower-tiered skins. From now on you can be sure that any skin will have the same drop chance as any other skin of the same tier, no matter what safe it may come from. Stat-boosted skins will still be rarer than their non-stat-boosted counterparts. For example; this does mean that you have an equal chance to receive a blue skin from Community Safe 4 as you are to receive a blue skin from the Biker Safe.

FBI Files and Skins


All our updates are not confined to the game. Go and check out PAYDAY 2 FBI Files. We have added support for Chinese, Japanese and Korean as well as the “Black Market”. FBI uses this nifty feature to keep tabs on the underground market for customized weapons among Washington's criminals.

PAYDAY 2: Crimson Shore Hotfix Update 200.1

Hello Heisters!


We have finally reached the end of our adventures in Mexico and brought an end to Buluc. We are very happy with the reception we’ve seen on Update 200 and the Crimson Shore release. With an update like this we usually have a hotfix the day after, containing the most critical issues, but this time we felt we could wait one day and bring a much larger patch today instead.

We also updated the PAYDAY 2 FBI Files with new language options. You can now view the site in Japanese and Chinese as well as English. The toggle can be found in the upper right corner. We endeavor to release more languages in the future.

Correction
In the changelog for update 200 a fix was listed as:
“Fixed an exploit on Counterfeit where the cops could be manipulated with loot bags.”
This issue involved body bags not loot bags.

PAYDAY 2: Update 200 - Crimson Shore

Hello Heisters!


As the sun sets over Mexico, our heisters are preparing for grave business and a final showdown. But it’s not all serious stuff we have in store. To celebrate Update 200, we’re also expanding the Infamy System! There’s some extra goodies with two new camouflage weapon colors, free for everyone to use. You will find the Urban Abstract and the Desert Pixel in the weapon color system on your next launch of the game.

Vlad Wants to Settle a Score


Vlad has had enough with the Coyopa Cartel and their leader, Buluc. It is time to take him down. And who better to give this task to than you guys? In the Buluc’s Mansion Heist you can storm the gates of Buluc’s Mansion or sneak in like deadly scorpions. Either way you need to bring down the Coyopa Cartel. There are also two unlocks to claim, these will be up for grabs for anyone completing the associated achievements. Can you get your hands on the “Impresario” and the “Undead Peacock”?

Dirty Work Needs Nice and Shiny Hardware


Bring some new guns to the party with the Gunslinger Weapon Pack. The DLC offers a selection of three very different guns, there is something for everyone. Pick off your targets at range with the Bernetti Rangehitter Sniper Rifle, or clear a room efficiently with the Reinfeld 88 Shotgun. If you prefer the authentic gunslinger feel, try out the Frenchman Model 87 Revolver. Why not bring two, just in case?

They Say “Clothes Make the Heister”


Complete your look with Tailor Pack 3 containing 2 new outfits with 4 variants each. The Long Gentleman and the Duelist will sure make you look the part in the hot sands of Mexico. If you want to further expand your wardrobe, the pack also includes 8 new gloves, with variants, there are a total of 12 gloves in this pack. You have the option of tactical gloves, driving gloves, biker gloves and fancy leather gloves, just to name a few.

Put Some Shine on Your Gear


Is your weapon starting to look a bit dull and worse for wear? Or do you want your CAR-4 to be as blinged out as it feels awesome to shoot? With the Weapon Color Pack 3 you get 20 new weapon colors that can be applied to any gun. The pack contains vibrant colors with a shiny finish as well as color that shifts hue and some with rad patterns that will look awesome on your rifles, pistols or RPGs and whatever else you might be packing.

Infamy 3.0


As mentioned above, we are expanding the infamy system. If you are looking for another challenge, are a die hard completionist or are just looking for bragging rights, then this is for you. Infamy now has a new max level and will grant additional rewards as you progress. Starting today, you can become truly Infamous and unlock 4 color variants of a special infamy suit, 4 gloves and 16 weapon colors, all unique to the infamy system. You can also unlock a new item - Join Stingers. Additionally, there’s 16 new join sound effects to unlock where you can pick and choose the one most suitable to your style.

There are 40 new infamous rewards to unlock today and 35 more will be coming soon in a future update. You can still gain the ranks for the upcoming rewards and they will retroactively be available to you upon release.

We have also changed the order in which you unlock the infamy rewards. All rewards are now unlocked linearly. Any reward you’ve unlocked previously in the old system will stay unlocked in the new system. When going infamous for the first time all skill point reductions will be unlocked as a single reward for the first level of infamy.

With this update, we also made a slight change to how going infamous works. Every time you go infamous your first skill set (with “SET #1” as its default name) will be reset. All your other skill sets will be suspended. This means that they will keep all their skills but will be unavailable to you until you acquire skill points equal to that being used in the set. You can also choose to reset a suspended skill set before you have enough points. This will give you access to the set again, but since it’s reset, you will need to re-assign the skill points you have available. All profiles that used a skillset that got suspended will be assigned to use your first skill set instead. The profiles will keep any mask, outfit, or perk deck assigned to them.

Infamy Rank Display Mode


With the additional levels of Infamy we realize that some may find it hard to read the exact rank of your fellow heisters at a glance. Therefore, we have added an option to locally switch the display mode of the rank between roman and arabic numerals. If you're better at reading roman numerals than us, then you won't need this, but you will find these settings in the options menu under “User Interface”.

Hola Cuates


With the final chapter of our adventure south of the border, we bring one final little update for our South-American heisters. You will now be able to choose both European Spanish and Latin American Spanish as language options for the game. You will find these options in the PAYDAY 2 properties on steam.

  • Added weapon color support to the anti-piracy system.
  • Fixed an issue where players would get stuck in a nearly infinite loading loop after switching between different profiles prior to readying up in the loadout screen.
  • Fixed an issue where some weapons were locked after going infamous without having a level lock.
  • Disabled Swedish as a language option in steam since the game is not translated to that language.

  • Fixed an issue on Border Crossing where the glass of one of the trucks in the beginning was shown as blue and yellow on AMD graphics cards.
  • Fixed an issue on Border Crossing Day 2 where loot bags could be thrown into unreachable locations.
  • Fixed an issue in Breakfast in Tijuana where the police uniform could be picked up through the wall.
  • Fixed an issue in Breakfast in Tijuana where the car key tags would block the numbers on the wall.
  • Fixed an exploit on Counterfeit where the cops could be manipulated with loot bags.
  • Fixed a crash on Election Day Day 2 that could occur when lockpicking a door in the mall.

  • Fixed an art issue on Scarface Mansion where textures would display z-fighting issues with the carpets inside the mansion.
  • Fixed a collision on The Alesso Heist that could lead to the player being stuck behind a door on the upper floor.
  • Fixed a graphical issue on The Biker Heist with a ceiling decal.

Characters and Enemies

  • Fixed a texture issue on the helmet used by heavy SWATs.
  • Fixed an issue with Sangres' arms in first person with certain outfits.
  • Fixed clipping issues while wearing the “Scrub” Outfit.
  • Fixed clipping issues while wearing the “Tuxedo” Outfit.
  • Fixed clipping issues on "The Showman" suit on the arms for certain heisters.

Perk and Skills

  • Fixed an issue where the final perk for the Maniac deck would not work properly.
  • Fixed so that clients with the Sixth Sense skill can buy assets associated with the skill in pre-planning even if the host doesn't have the skill.

UI

  • Added a "NEW" indicator icon next to contractors with new available heists.
  • Fixed an issue where drop-in clients could "Buy All Assets" for a game already in progress.
  • Fixed an issue with misleading stats when equipping a speed pull magazine.
  • Fixed a rendering issue with the XL 5.56 Microgun when equipping a weapon color.
  • Fixed an issue where masks were not centered on the screen when previewing.
  • Fixed an issue where the client's UI would not update pager count correctly, when the host would dominate an NPC and answer the pager.

Weapons

  • Fixed a graphical issue on the Commando 101 Rocket Launcher when using weapon colors.
  • Fixed a missing animation with the Akimbo Judge Shotguns when aiming down sight immediately after firing.
  • Fixed an issue with automatic weapons where two bullet fire sounds would play while only one bullet was fired.
  • Fixed Z-fighting on certain patterns when using the tropical foregrip on the M60 Light Machine Gun.

Updates may be incompatible with the mods you may have installed. Even seemingly unrelated mods may cause unexpected issues.

If you are experiencing any issues with the game; try removing any mods you may have installed and try again.
