Frau Koujiro and FM Music DLCs Now Available!

Frau Koujiro, the genius programmer and super otaku from 5pb’s popular VN Robotics;Notes, is now available as DLC! Frau mostly depends on the strength of others, attacking with both her robots and friends. She is playable in all modes and also comes with her own set of achievements. This DLC also increases the base game’s level cap from 50 to 99 if the Kurisu Makise DLC is not already owned.

The “FM BGM” DLC is also now available. This changes the entire soundtrack to use retro, arcade-style Frequency Modulation (FM) sound source background music!

Toggle between the new FM and the classic Programmable Sound Generator (PSG) BGM from the “Settings” menu.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds: Frau and FM Music DLC coming soon

The long awaited Frau Koujiro, from 5bp's popular visual novel Robotics;Notes, is making her way to Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds.

The relevant Achievements have been added to the game as this DLC is now in the final final phase of development.

Also coming up soon: the whole soundtrack redone in FM for you to enjoy in-game on PC too.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Kemomimi DLC and Multiplayer Release

Multiplayer is now live

1.1.20 is now officially released, it adds:

Online multiplayer
Support for a number of DirectX controllers
Fix for Xbox One controller

We are aware of an issue when playing online with 3~4 players and one leave ending the session, and will continue looking for a fix.

Online Co-Op Update

Hi Everyone,
Apologies for the very overdue announcement.

We ran into some developmental roadblocks with the Online Multiplayer Integration for Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds on PC.

The good news is that we’ve made significant progress and will be starting alpha testing next month.

We’re hoping to have a full, public release available in the not too distant future.

Here’s a screenshot of the lobby screen working as intended.

Here’s a quick overview of the two different online modes:

4P Co-op
Play arcade mode together with up to 3 other people.

Battleground
Free for all action with 2-4 players

We realize this is much longer than our original target date of August and for this we apologize. We’re working on something cool to make up for the delay.

PBBG Development Update 07/02/2015

Greetings to the Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds community!

Patch update V1.05 is going live shortly and will include a fix for excessive speed on monitors with high refresh rates. V1.05 also adds online leaderboards to the game for both Arcade and Co-op modes.

In addition to the patch, we also have more information about the the game's continuing development.

Planned features like improved key configuration and online multiplayer have been delayed by extensive work on Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds: Overdrive, the PS4 port of PBBG, which diverted the development team from work on the PC version for some time.

We now expect key configuration updates by the end of this month, and online multiplayer later this year. Although these updates have been delayed, development has resumed and we are continuing development on these features as planned.

The upside of this is that with the PS4 version out soon, Mages is still committed to support all versions of PBBG for a long time.
