Once a crucial lookout point for spotting wildfires, it now serves as a remote home for a park caretaker. This unique location carries a rich history, blending the solitude of the past with the personal struggles of the present.
A Glimpse Into the Past 🔥
Fire watchtowers like this one were once scattered across vast wilderness areas, including Alaska. Rangers stationed in these towers spent long hours scanning the horizon for the first signs of smoke, using tools like the Osborne Fire Finder—an essential device still standing at the heart of our watchtower. Their work was critical in protecting the forests and wildlife from devastating fires.
But with modern satellite systems and aerial surveillance, many of these towers were abandoned. Some were left to decay, while others, like the one in Photography Simulator, found new purposes.
A New Life in the Tower 🏡
In our game, the watchtower is no longer a lookout for fires but a home for a park caretaker. He spends his days maintaining the surrounding area, documenting wildlife, and keeping the tower in good shape. To make the space feel more personal, he decorates it with drawings sent by his child—a small but touching detail that brings warmth to the otherwise isolated structure.
However, living in the tower is not without its challenges. The caretaker has a fear of heights, making every climb up the tower an uneasy battle. The spiral staircase creaks under his steps, and the open-air platform at the top tests his nerves. Yet, duty calls, and he must face his fears to keep the park safe.

Today, we take you to the heart of Alaska majestic landscapes to encounter one of the most iconic wildlife inhabitants - the elk, also known as the Canadian deer. We wanted to capture not only the grandeur and dignity of this animal but also the unique challenges involved in observing and photographing it.
Realism in Every Move🦌
While working on the elk model, we focused on two key aspects: its impressive appearance and authentic behavior. Our teams of artists and developers analyzed countless hours of footage to recreate every detail - from its sprawling antlers to the subtle movements of its ears reacting to sounds in the surroundings.
Additionally, the elk’s AI system was designed to realistically respond to its environment. A sudden noise? You'll see the animal freeze, assess the threat, and then flee with surprising agility. Stay quiet, and you might capture the elk in a peaceful moment, such as grazing or bugling during the rutting season.
Fun Facts About Elk
Did you know that elk are one of the largest members of the deer family, second only to moose? Male elk, or bulls, can boast antlers with a span of up to 1.2 meters (4 feet)! These antlers are shed and regrown every year, with growth rates reaching up to 2.5 cm per day.
Another fascinating fact is their communication. Elk are famous for their distinctive bugle calls, which can carry for miles. These loud sounds serve to establish dominance and attract females. Capturing this behavior in the game presents a truly unique challenge!

They are more active during the cooler hours of the morning and evening, while in the middle of the day, when temperatures rise, they rest in the shade.
