Please, leave the candy you were about to eat on the table and let’s ready today’s update (c’mon, you’ll get a lot more during Halloween). Update 0.9 is mostly focused on polishing the game, but there are also new things on the gameplay itself, such as different difficulty for each level.
Here is a summary of what has changed. You can read more details below it:
Changed the sound effects of the game;
Sound effects are now 3D (you can hear where they are playing from);
Changed the songs of the levels (background music);
Improved muzzle flash, shot and hit particles of the weapons;
Improved screen shake;
Improved the Store’s visual;
Performance optimization;
New water visual;
Improved the pace of the game (more frenetic);
Now each map has its own difficulty (easiest to hardest);
Balanced damage of swords;
Liz can now charge the sword special attack while running;
Liz can now throw daggers while running (what a ninja);
Fixed Liz’ movement bug after getting revived;
Changed prices of new maps and characters.
Check the new stuff by watching this uncomment gameplay (I know you skipped all the text above):

Now, the details…
New sounds
You can finally hear different fire guns sounds when you shoot, not just the same one for pistol, submachine gun, shotgun and so on (I can still hear that old sound in my dreams…). That’s right, a lot of new sound effects were added to the game and they are now 3D, meaning you can hear the direction they are coming from.
The background music’s were also changed, excepted for the Main Menu and Map 03, which remain the same. Let me know if you enjoyed the new ones.
New particles and visuals
Guns and other weapons now shoot cool particles! RIP old lame green line (if you got that, thanks! That means you’ve been following the project for a long time). Other particles were improved as well, such as explosions.
The enemies now shake a little bit when you hit them and their dialog is surrounded by a dialog box. Screen shake was also improved. The water looks more beautiful too.
New store
The rune displays were rearranged and improved so you can easily understand their effects and who can use them.
Old
New
New difficulty
Each map has now its own difficulty. That means you won’t necessarily reach a certain round as easy as you reached in the previous map. Pigeons are faster, do more damage and have even less mercy, but I now you won’t let them win without putting up a good fight.
You will also notice that the pace has changed. Pigeons will now spawn closer to you. This also fix a problem while playing on a big map on the previous versions, in which you had to wait a lot for some pigeons to come to you, specially if you had unlocked a lot of paths.
What comes next?
Pigeons Attack is close to the final version. We will now work on Steam achievements, some basic tutorials for new players and continue polishing and optimizing the game. But don’t worry, we will keep the game updated with new stuff even after the 1.0 version, so don’t forget to give us your feedback about things that should be improved or that you would like to see in the game.
Thank you for reading today’s update and for playing Pigeons Attack! See you in the next one.
Update 0.8.1 – Bug Fixes
Hello guys! How are you doing?
If you are reading this, pigeons haven’t gotten you yet (glad to know that). Today’s updates focus basically on fixing some bugs.
Here are the fixes and some minor improvements:
(Coop) Fixed bug where reviving partner and dying at the same time could cause the match to finish, but you partner could still fight;
(Coop) Fixed bug where player 2 could press start to join the game even if the player 1 were dead (maybe they just wanted revenge you);
(Coop) Fixed bug where Ron’s magic was hitting the partner revive trigger, not allowing to hit the incoming pigeons;
Fixed Purple Staff’s spheres position;
Adjusted map four terrain so Ron’s magic doesn’t hit the floor too often when aiming forward;
Fixed bug where Ron’s magic could collide with himself;
Fixed visual bug when two players use the special attack (F);
Fixed bug where camp fire could block a pigeon movement (now it also hurts you)
Fixed bug where some objects were blocking pigeons path on map four.
Fixed bug where right stick wasn’t maintaining the aim/player rotation when using a joystick;
Added aim indication when using a joystick;
You can now close the pause menu by pressing “B” when using a joystick.
Please, let us know about any other bug.
We will now work hard on the next big update. Thanks for playing Pigeons Attack!
New Character available: Ron, the Mage! Update 0.8
Hello guys! How are you doing?
Yes, you read it right. You can now play with a new character on Pigeons Attack! Here is a summary of new stuff added on update 0.8:
New playable character: Ron, The Mage;
Giant Pigeon has a new behavior;
You can now add any weapon/item (according to character) in any inventory slot;
Minor speed decrease on tiny pink pigeon;
Bug fixes and improvements.
Now, let’s get to the details.
Ron, The Mage
Ron uses magic staffs as weapon (don’t you say). You can find different staffs on different spots of the map, each one with a specific power. They all work in a similar way: press the attack button once to shoot and hold it for a while (until you hear a sound or see your staff glowing) to shoot its special power, as you can see on the gifs. But be careful, all your shots consume mana (blue bar below health). The amount of mana consumed depends on which staff you are using and if it is a normal or a special shot. You can recover your mana by defeating enemies, picking ammo boxes, buying mana potions or just waiting, as it recovers a bit every second.
Manage your mana so you can use this awesome and powerful ultimate when your bar is full:
Giant Pigeon’s new behavior
Giant Pigeons will now try to block your path (saying “excuse me” to them will not work, we tried) by standing still on the closest open path. They only will chase you when there is no free spot available or when they are the only enemies left on the current round.
Inventory slot
On previous versions, the third slot of your inventory was only used by certain weapons, like health potion, bombs etc. Now, you can place any weapon on any slot, as long as your character is allowed to use it. So, this means you can hold three machine guns or three health potions. No idea on how you would attack with the last combination, but it is up to you what combination of weapons and items you want to use.
Hope you enjoy playing with Ron! Please, feel free to send us feedback about the new character, any other suggestion or bug.
Update 0.7.4.2 + Coins
Hello there!
Update 0.7.4.2 is now live! Here is what changed:
Fixed bug where pigeons nests (from pink pigeons) weren’t taking damage from explosions (bombs, for example);
Adjusted amount of coins you get during the match. Now you will get (at least) 3x more coins than the previous versions!
It was taking too much time and effort to collect and save coins to buy and unlock new stuff, such as maps. Players tend to spend this gold on runes so they can reach higher rounds and collect more coins (or just to try them out), but the amount was so low that what they were getting was just enough to pay what they had invested.
You can finally have fun playing on new maps! And keep spending on runes, of course…
Wow! Much coins!
Update 0.7.4.1 + Bug fixes
Hello there!
Update 0.7.4.1 (a lot of numbers and dots, I know) is now live! This update fixes some bugs and brings some small changes to the game:
Fixed bug that was making pigeons stand still forever when using the "Popcorn";
Fixed bug that you could stay trapped inside the sidewalk after getting hit by an enemy on map one;
You can now swap weapons using the scroll wheel;
Tweaked difficulty of the white pigeon.
After a really intense discussion with the pigeons from Kingdom of Pruuzharia, they ordered the white pigeon (that one who poops on all over your screen) to calm down and make things a little easier with humans. The explosion delay was changed from 0.6 to 0.8 seconds and the duration of the effect from 5 to 4 seconds.
Thank you for playing!
I would like to thank you all for buying and playing Pigeons Attack. I hope you guys are enjoying the game so far. I’ll do by best to improve it and bring a lot of new stuff.
That’s all for today’s update.
May the pigeons be away from you.
New: Leaderboard!
First of all, I would like to thank you all for adding the game to your wishlist. I’m looking forward to the release date! It's not April 5 yet, but there is already a new feature in Pigeons Attack: leaderboard.
The global leaderboard will rank players by the highest round reached, as shown in the screenshot, and it will be available at release date.
