Out of Early Access! Pixel Game Maker MV 1.0.0 Update!

We are proud to announce the release of the v1.0.0 of Pixel Game Maker MV!
We received a lot of constructive feedback during the Early Access, and it helped us to improve the software greatly.
In addition to our coming out of the Early Access period, we are also about to release a 30-day trial version of Pixel Game Maker MV!
Also, don't forget about the upcoming Pixel Game Maker MV Game Development Challenge! The contest will start on October 3rd, and the winner will have their submission released on the Nintendo Switch. Any combination of art style and genre are welcome!

Finally, 1.0.0 is not the final update for Pixel Game Maker MV!
We spent our time in Early Access focused on building a stable platform, and we feel that we have finally achieved that goal.
Going forward, our focus will be on addressing user requests for quality of life and functional enhancements, such as UI refinements or the addition of functionality like a database system.

Old-school 2D Side-scrolling Action Game Steel Sword Story Released!
Today we were finally able to release the Pixel Game Maker MV-created sword & sorcery action title Steel Sword Story!
Here we'd like to introduce you to some of the awesome characters you'll meet in the game.
■Azul Palan Brau
The story's hero. Former Aurum Kingdom Imperial Guard. A skilled young swordsman, he was wrongfully accused of a crime and exiled. Some say that it was his love for the princess that angered the king.
■Prime Minister Rufus
The prime minister handling the daily affairs of Aurum Kingdom in place of King Ouro. His political skills, both externally and behind closed doors, are excellent, but his origins are a mystery.
■Rose
Princess of Aurum Kingdom. Against her father's wishes, she has fallen in love with Azul, the Imperial Guardsman who has been protecting her since childhood.
■Ouro III
King of Aurum Kingdom. Extremely strict, but not cruel. Somewhat naïve due to inheriting the throne in a time of peace, this naivete is taken advantage of by Rufus.
■Minotus
Bull demons summoned from the demon world by Rufus. Their jump and squash attack is powerful enough to raise the ground. Be careful not to get hit by the flames they spit from their mouths.
These are the guys and girls who will be appearing in the game and providing the story with its heart and soul.
We really just can't get over these painstakingly crafted pixel graphics, and we're sure you're gonna dig them, too!

While we are hard at work providing you with support & preparing the next patch, we are going to have a put things on hold for a few days.
As we are based in Japan, we will be unavailable from April 27th through May 6th due to the extended Japanese holidays for the period known as Golden Week.

From all the submissions we receive (if they abide by the rules and terms linked above), the Pixel Game Maker MV team will be choosing their favorite and will be giving the community the chance to vote on their favorite as well. These two winners announced at the end of April, will have their project showcased at this year's BitSummit in Kyoto, Japan's biggest indie game show, which will take place the weekend of June 1st-2nd, 2019.

Adding assets for "RTB ~Return To Base~" in Pixel Game Maker MV
Hi Everyone
From today onwards, a selection of materials from the upcoming sample game, "RTB ~Return to Base~", can be downloaded from the Official Pixel Game Maker MV website!

"RTB ~ Return To Base ~" is a shooting game made in Pixel Game Maker MV, and is planned to be released as a sample game in the future. The first stage of the game is a side-scrolling shooter, with the second stage changing the game into a vertical-scrolling shooter. Lastly, stage 3 again changes into a side-scrolling platforming shooter. The purpose will be to show how to use Pixel Game Maker MV to blend together different genres into a single project.
