Pirate Island Rescue

Touch Don't Shoot

Hello! It's been a while since our last update!

Pirate Island Rescue is in the Pirates vs Ninjas Fest and we thought it would be nice to update a couple of gameplay elements that we've been meaning to change

Opening Cages and Treasure Chests now require a touch instead of shooting

- Captives are released from cages by the player touching them, instead of having to use your weapons
- Players and enemies can walk/shoot past cages, they can still be jumped on
- Cages don't disappear once opened
- Treasure chests are opened by the player touching them, instead of having to use your weapons
- Players and enemies can walk/shoot past treasure chests
- Treasure chests don't disappear once opened

This allows the enemy to move and attack more freely and stops the players attacks from being blocked by too many objects

We hope you enjoy these changes!

Smashing Pumpkins

Happy Halloween!

Building on the improvements to Pirate Island Rescue with last Ladder to Success update with a few tweaks and additions, we bring you our Smashing Pumpkins update

The spiky thorns have been turned into pumpkin patches for Halloween. Slash with your cutlass and smash those pumpkins

If you don't already have the game, we have a 50% off sale running from October 21st to November 4th and you can buy the game in a bundle with our other games for an extra discount.

Talk Like A Pirate Day Sale

It's Talk Like a Pirate Day on the 19th of September and to celebrate we're having a week long sale running from the 16th to the 23rd of September

Pirate Island Rescue will be 50% off, our other games will be discounted too. You can get an extra discount if you buy the game as part of one of our bundles

The game has also been recently updated, based on feedback from players.

Ladder to success

Following feedback, we've made it so that ladders are easier to climb without falling off, which we're sure was annoying a few players.

We've also made it so that health collectibles are more durable and can't be destoryed by being shot or slashed with a sword, but if they are hit with multiple explosions they will still shatter.

Since health is more plentiful, we've increased the number of areas where enemy pirates will be placed (under bridges and above caves), with reward crates found in these areas now too.

We hope you enjoy these additions to the game, just in time for Talk Like A Pirate Day

A New Price

Hello everyone,

We've dropped the price and we're having a sale!

It's been a few years since we released Pirate Island Rescue, so we thought it might be time to permanently lower the price

To celebrate the new price, we're running a sale and we've discounted the price even further - a strange way to celebrate a price drop, we know!

We've also similarly reduced the price of our other games that have been out for a few years too - get them all in a bundle for an extra discount

Anyway, we hope you like the new price

Quality of Pirate Life Update

We've made a few quality of life (or a pirate life for me, yo, ho, ho!) changes that should improve the gameplay experience and overall make Pirate Island Rescue more fun to play.

The main changes include:
- Reduced loading times for levels
- Reduced damage from explosions and gas clouds
- Grenade throwing enemies better able to launch over obstacles
- Additional visual and audio indicator when enemies are killed

There was also an engine update and a few settings tweaks.

If you've not yet purchased Pirate Island Resuce, we will be putting the game on sale soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Take the Tiller

While working on our new game, Gorilla Guerrillas, we added remappable controls and we thought "why not add that to Pirate Island Rescue too?", so we did and here's the update.

Included in update:
- Remappable keyboard and gamepad controls
- Bigger damage area for explosions
- Updated menus and options
- Zoomed in closer to the action by default (can adjust with - and +)
- Tweaked random level generation

Update: Fixes and Additions

We've just released a small new update for Pirate Island Rescue with a few improvements

Main changes include:

- greater variability in generated levels

We hope you enjoy these improvements and have fun playing the game.
