TRADING CARDS

Well guys, we've started to produce the trading cards and achievements for the game itself. A quick sneak peak:

UNDEAD UPDATE - 0.32

Well guys here it is. The undead update:

- New building: The armory, it will let your villagers create weapons as well as becoming soldiers if you tell them so.
- Life stats now show on top of each villagers if you hover the mouse over them.
- Mines: Hover with the mouse on top of a mine to see how many resources it has left.
- Improved and updated the help interface. (Is not much, but the next update will be a total GUI revamp)
- New type of citizen: Soldier. Fierce and brave man/woman, who will defend against intruders at all cost.
- Re-introduced the day-night cycle: 5 mins day, 1 min night.
- THE UNDEAD: As your villagers die of age, hunger, or sickness, they will become part of the undead. These undead will spawn at night in the lands you've created and try to kill the citizens. That is when you'll have to find a small balance between soldiers and villagers, so you won't starve to death, neither die eaten by undeads. Undead will die once morning come and come back next night.

In future updates you'll be able to reduce the amount of undeads by adding holy structures and cemeterys. The next part of the development plan is to add seasons, then a revamp of the GUI, and start adding structures left and right.

Hope you guys enjoy the update. And as usual leave the bugs you find in the bug reports section.

Sachonski.

Update 0.31

Well guys, I've came up with all of this for this new update:

- New ambient sounds, as well as new fx sound for the interaction of the citizens with the environment.
- Citizens now take their time to mine and chop wood.
- NEW BUILDING: The tool-smith shop: This place will allow the citizens to create new tools to work the fields, butcher the chickens, chop trees and mine stone, as well as this new resources:
- Coal (needed for crafting tools and weapons)
- Iron (needed for crafting tools and weapons)

The way the tool-smith shop work, is the same as the chicken farms, add or subtract the amount of tools necessary for an efficient village. (The more citizens you have, faster they'll run out of tools) They will produce tools until they reach the amount you've assigned.
Keep in mind, that the plan is to add a weapon-smith shop, and light, so be wise how do you use your coal and iron.

Hope you guys enjoy the update, and as usual if you find bugs (if any) leave it in the bug section on the forums.

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

DEVELOPMENT PLAN:

Well guys, the game is going quite well, slowly but surely I think I'm gaining my keep around here. So I came up with a development plan for the game, making Survivors one of a kind game.
Lets start from where we are right now:

- You can create some land.
- Add some buildings.
- Upgrade them.
- Pray it will be enough fun to keep you out of your troubles.

That being said, lets get to the DEV PLAN:

As it is right now, your villagers can deforest and destroy the land around them pretty quick. But that will change, I'll try my best to develop a tool system, where villagers will be able to craft tools, use them, and in rare (not so rare) occasions, break them. For that you will require to mine iron and coal. Then build a forge (new building), and then that raw resources will end up being stock in a tool-smith store (new building), and in a weapon-smith store (new building)

Then the fun part: With the weapon-smith store you'll be able to create weapons, to defend yourself... From who? From yourself...

...

What? Yes, every citizen that dies in game, will come back during the nights as zombie, ghoul, or skelly, haven't decide it yet (Suggestions are appreciated). You will be able to reduce the amount of undead by adding cemeterys and sanctuarys. So there you have two troubles to deal with, attacks during nights, and starvation during day. Well lets add a third one, is the charm, right? How about season. (To start off, summer and winter), so your villagers can also die of freezing. Then you would have to create a tailor shop (new building), and use the chicken feather's to make nice and cosy vest for your beloved citizens.

So there you go guys, you've wondered why the game was called Survivors, that's why, I just didn't know if I could accomplish all of that in a short period of time.
So resuming, whats coming:

- Forges.
- Mines with coal, stone and iron.
- Tool-smith's shops.
- Weapon-smith's shops.
- Barracks/Training camps (to create soldiers and defend at night, probably all civilians will go home and the soldiers will remain on watch)
- Tailor's shop.
- Cemetery.
- Sanctuary.
- Soldiers.
- More crops.
- Lights.
- More wild animals.

According to the UI, I'll try to improve as I can, slowly but surely.
Guys, please keep in mind that I cannot do this as a full time job, but I'll try my best to make it as quick as possible.

Thank you guys for the patience, and join me to create an epic indie game we all could be proud of.

Sachonski, Survivors Dev.

Update 0.30 - Villager makeover and tiles working.

Well, this update its quite simple:

-New outfits for the 3 kinds of citizens (male, female and child)

-Proper tiles that fit, in my opinion, way cooler than the blocky squares.

I'll be writing another announcement tomorrow, letting you guys know in what direction the game is going and what I'm planning to be adding in the next few months.

PS: I'm afraid that the saves from previous versions won't work with this patch, i'll try to see what the problem is, if this cannot be solved, you'll end up with a psichodelic piece of art.
