You have probably noticed that there hasn't been an update for a long time. In this article I will try to explain what is happening with PixPhys and what will happen next.
At the moment there is an almost ready update on the experimental branch, which we will release very soon and it will be the last update of the BETA version of the game. Now we have started redesigning the game for the fourth time (and hopefully the last) to perfect it and release it from early access! Of course it will take a lot of time, but we plan to do it by the fall. Maybe PixPhys BETA will get a few more small bugfixing updates, but content updates are unlikely.
The other day we saw a negative review due to the fact that our game is not available on the Linux operating system. In general, we were almost ready to create an assembly for this platform, but there were problems with the file system. At the moment, most of them are fixed and now you need to test the game, if everything goes smoothly, then the game will be fully available on Linux.
Hello engineers! Halloween is coming, in honor of this holiday, we have prepared a thematic update for you.

1.2.0 — Lua & Localization
Hi, engineers!
Almost a month has passed since the last update – it's time to release a new one. It brings some new content to the game, but a lot of new features, and fixes a lot of bugs. I would like to thank you for still playing our game after such a long stagnation. September 25, 2022 (the day after the release of update 1.1.0) there was a record number of active players – 131 people. I'd like to invite you to our Discord server, where you can find out about experimental releases and participate in discussions about future updates.
Programming in Lua
Processor
Lua Processor is a new item that has a node with one Composite input and output. The main task is to carry out calculations.
Lua Display is a new item that has a node with one Composite input. The main task is to draw graphics in the game world.
Editor
To write code in the game, there is a built-in script editor, which includes documentation.
Localization
Now you can translate PixPhys into the language you are interested in, for this we have made a convenient utility that you can find along this path: PixPhys\Tools\Localization Tool. To start the translation, open the utility and open the default language in the game files (File>Open): PixPhys\GameData\Languages. On the left are localization keys, click on one of them and start editing its content.
Improving the quality of life
Now you can collapse the list of props of a certain category by clicking on the arrow on the right.
Added the ability to fix the setting of weather events.
New props
Inertial gyroscope
[expand type="details"]A device that has very heavy disks inside that accelerate to high speeds and due to this spin the spacecraft.[/expand]
Flare launcher
[expand type="details"]When activated, fires a chemical projectile that flares up over time and begins to glow.[/expand]
Hand crank
[expand type="details"]Allows you to set the shaft in motion, using only the labor of robots.[/expand]
Glass sheet
[expand type="details"]It's fragile.[/expand]
Hose
[expand type="details"]This is a flexible pipe, perfect for connecting moving parts with a pipeline.[/expand]
New achievements

Optimization? What's this?
Lua & Localization Update - Teaser
From day to day, update 1.2.0 should be released, which will bring many new features to the game, the main ones are the ability to program displays and processors in Lua, as well as partial support for localization in the game.
Almost a month has passed since the release - it's time to release a major update. A big part of this update is technical improvements to the game: the system for saving nodes has been completely rewritten, which will allow us to localize them and protect them from problems in the future.
Main innovation
The main innovation is the desert map. The main difference of which is that it has a relief, while it is endless. Also in its sands lives something that will impatiently destroy your building.
Redesigned ports
All ports in the game have been reworked, which may require you to rearrange them in your buildings in order for them to work correctly. Ports now have:
built-in magnets for easy docking
indicator lights to indicate when a connection is established between ports
boolean output indicating when another port is connected
Visual layers
The ability to customize the display layer of an object in a building has been added, now you can bring beauty to your building.
The winch does not give out the length of the cable.
Pipe construction continues after selecting another tool.

PixPhys Beta is here!
Foreword
More than one year has passed since the last update of the game. Unfortunately, we brought the game to such a state that it was impossible to add content.
We made the first attempts to start development back in January 2022, when we wanted to take part in the Indie Cup competition. We did not have time to finish the game and the contest was cancelled. Due to some events, we had to abandon most of the ideas of the game that we called "PixPhys 2" as a joke, but some moved on to what is now PixPhys.
We started a full rework of PixPhys at the beginning of April 2022. From "PixPhys 2" was taken: workbench, weather and node system.
You probably won't find much in common between the Alpha version and the Beta version, as they are two different games with the same name and idea.
And now, after 5 months of active work, we are ready to present you PixPhys Beta!
Design on Steam
We have completely redesigned the store page. We made new screenshots and a trailer, added GIF to the text and stylized the titles, rewrote the description.
The images for the Steam client library have also been reworked.
What will happen to the Alpha version?
The alpha version of the game will be available as a another branch on Steam, which will not be updated.
Saves from the Alpha version cannot be played in the Beta version, so they are marked as "incompatible". You can read more about this here.
Innovations
The main innovations of the Beta version of PixPhys are:
Workbench building system
Node system
Fuel system
Weather
Heating system
Aerodynamics
You can read more about the development process, changes in our development logs:
We've been working on user modification examples to help guide you through the modding process. All code is commented out in detail and disassembled into blocks. We are also working on modding documentation. If you have any difficulties feel free to write to our Discord server!
Statuses
We have integrated support for Steam and Discord statuses into the game. Now your friends will see what you are doing: you are in the menu, testing or building your new creation.
Alpha saves
The Beta version of the game will be released very soon. So that old saves do not overlap new ones and do not mislead beginners, they were marked with the “Incompatible” label. Don't worry, saves can also be downloaded, for this you just need to check the "Show incompatible items" box, which is located at the very bottom of the filters.
Open PixPhys Beta testing
We've released the PixPhys Beta into open testing.
