We are taking down the Wainwright (EU) server tonight at 8:30PM PDT. / 5:30AM CEST.

During that time we will be upgrading the server's hardware to improve the high latency.

Estimated downtime will be under one hour.

During this time we will make some server adjustments to alleviate the extreme cases of latency.

Estimated downtime will be around 30-45 minutes.

📢 April 24, 2025 - Hotfix📢
All servers will be down for our hotfix maintenance tomorrow 4/24 @ 6AM PDT / 3PM CEST. ~ 3 Hour downtime. The following additions and fixes will be updated to the client.


Fishing



  • Fishing Mastery directive bug fixes and rework.
  • Fixed a bug where the parameters of a previously used Attractor will carry over to the next Attractor used.
  • Fixed a bug where Attractors were being spent outside of fishing spots.


Bugfixes



  • Fixed a bug on Hossin where anti-tank mines don't cause damage when in water.
  • Fixed Motion Spotter and Spawn Beacon deployment issues on Hossin.
  • Removed an unfinished/Work In Progress Implant from live that was only visible in the VR Training Facility.
  • Fixed an issue where players would get stuck on parts of "The Ascent" on Amerish.

4/23 @ 6AM PDT. / Downtime up to 4 hours.
🔸During this time we will be changing NA server gateway hardware.
🔸We will then monitor Connery (Osprey) for better latency performance.
🔸NA and EU servers will be renamed to Osprey and Wainwright.

Why This Merge Matters 


For years, our community has advocated for server consolidation to:   

  • Reduce population fragmentation   
  • Enable larger, more dynamic battles   
  • Strengthen the overall player ecosystem   

Server location decisions inherently involve trade-offs - no matter where we base our infrastructure, some players will always experience higher latency than others. We carefully evaluated all options before implementing this merge, knowing it would bring both benefits and temporary challenges.   

While transitions of this scale are never completely seamless, we believe these short-term adjustments will lead to significant long-term improvements for all players.   

We’ve been closely following your feedback since merging the US servers, and we appreciate the constructive discussions happening across Reddit, our official forums, and Discord. While server consolidations are always challenging, this move was necessary to strengthen match quality and ensure long-term population health for PlanetSide 2. That said, we recognize some players are facing issues, and we’re actively working to improve the experience.   

Our Action Plan 


Here’s what we’re doing to address these issues:   

  • Network & Routing Adjustments – We’re working with our infrastructure team to optimize data paths and reduce latency for players with extreme cases of high server latency.
  • Server Performance Tuning – We’re investigating the root causes of lag spikes and adjusting server settings to improve stability.   
  • Population & Queue Management – We’re exploring ways to alleviate login queues, including potential spawn system tweaks and incentives to balance faction populations.   
  • Long-Term Infrastructure Review – If necessary, we’ll evaluate alternative solutions, including server location adjustments or provider changes, to ensure a smoother experience.

  • Share your experiences with extreme server latency after our next series of maintenances. 
  • Stay tuned for frequent updates as we implement fixes.


Double XP For All Event


We have plans to activate a bonus xp event for everyone and are looking to schedule it after latency improves for players. Be sure to check our official channels for more information on that later.

Moving Forward 


We know this transition hasn’t been perfect, but we believe merging Connery and Emerald will strengthen the long-term health of the game by consolidating the player base and improving match quality. Our goal is to make these adjustments as quickly as possible while keeping you informed every step of the way.

Hello Auraxians,

After the recent EU server merge we’ve seen lots of players enjoy the increased population on the maps in Auraxis. We now shift our focus to the NA servers.

We are pleased to announce that the NA Server Merge between Connery and Emerald will happen April 8th.

To celebrate both EU’s and NA’s server merges from last year and this year, we are hosting a two part server merge event! Read the details below and learn how you can vote for your EU and NA server names. That right, we heard our Cobalt community and decided to have Miller renamed as well.

Be sure to read carefully to learn about fun exclusive rewards for participating in these events!

Part 1 | Final Fight on Connery, Emerald & Miller

Play PlanetSide 2 during the date above as the faction that represents the new server name you’d like to have for the NA and EU servers. (See the server names below) 

Upon event completion the faction with the most map control captures throughout the whole weekend will have the winning new server name.
