I had to revert Platform Builder down one patch number from 10.4.5 to 10.4.4. The reason is that 10.4.5 was compiled with the latest version of Game Maker Studio, and I hadn't realized that the latest update changed how assets are stored in memory. This creates many fatal issues in 10.4.5, and I will need some time to update the code and re-stabilize Platform Builder.
Thanks for your patience and understanding! TingThing

Platform Builder's Category Switch
Hi everyone,
Platform Builder started as a simple "game-making game." But as I have continued to develop Platform Builder, so many new features have been added that it's starting to feel more like software. Users can now use a simple form of code (the command prompt), and those with the DLC can import their assets and export their games to .exe files.
Although the easy controls, colorful user interface, and casual nature of Platform Builder still have a "game" feel to it. That's not going away. However, Platform Builder's capabilities have, in my mind, pushed it to the level of software. Because of this, I contacted Steam and asked them to switch us over. They approved, and the changes are in effect immediately.
Ultimately my hope is that those who are looking to create their own 2D run-and-jump Platformer games will find Platform Builder and recognize its incredible potential!
Thank you to those who have suggested I make the switch. ːsteamthumbsupː
PB Pro Issues are being worked on...
Hello everyone,
It appears that the latest patch disabled Platform Builder Pro for many users. So I have reverted back to the previous version. If you want to keep working with the patch, then it will be available as a public beta. You can access this patch by going to your Steam library, right click on Platform Builder in the library, selecting "Properties," then "Betas," and choosing the public beta. That will install PB 10.4.1 for you.
Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully for everyone I can figure this out soon!

Platform Builder's Pricing Model is Changing
Hello everyone,
Over the years, I have spent countless hours developing Platform Builder as a labor of love. A lot has happened with each new upgrade. When I released the first version of Platform Builder, there was no 2-player mode, no sprite designer, no explore section or .exe publishing, no commands or command prompts, no timelines or custom menus or custom sprites.
Things have really changed over the years, and now my business partner and I believe Platform Builder is ready to enter the market as a paid program. If all goes according to plan, Platform Builder Standard will become $14.99 on Friday, September 16th.
If you already have Platform Builder in your Steam library, don't worry. You will continue to have full access to Platform Builder and all the free updates as it has always been for you. In fact, this change will benefit many of you! With Platform Builder becoming a paid program, we want it to feel more like a paid program. After the switch, Platform Builder Standard will allow custom physics and will remove all limits for custom items, enemies, etc. All that will be left for Platform Builder Pro is the ability to import your own game assets and export your games to .exe files. Consequently, Platform Builder Pro has gone down to only $4.99, effective immediately.
We believe this change will be healthy for the future of Platform Builder and increase its image to the public. Even with this new pricing model, we are confident that incoming players will get way more than they pay for. Thank you so much for being a part of this!
Platform Builder 10 is HERE!
Hi everyone,
The day has finally arrived. Platform Builder 10 is OUT! ːsteamhappyː
A lot of new features are included with this update, including unlimited game slots, a command search tool, and (not the least of which) a major revamp of our graphics! (Don't worry—if you like the OG look you can still switch over to it from the settings of Game Setup.)
A full list of updates can be viewed here on on forums. The command prompt page has also been updated with the many, many new commands. You may also notice that I re-organized many commands with better categorization to make them easier to find.
With Platform Builder's big new release, we also have fresh new screenshots and a new trailer featuring the updated graphics. Take a look!
Enjoy the new PB with all it's game-building glory!
