We’re eager to your active participation and assistance.
Let the game begin!
The alpha version official date is coming December 22
Breaking news, future plutocrats!
We are delighted to tell you that the alpha date is defined at last before the early access release on Steam! As mentioned before, that’s going to happen on December 22 i.e. on Christmas Eve.
We’re going to send one to all the backers who backed us on IndieGoGo by purchasing a special reward that covered the opportunity of being the alpha tester.
Besides, the alpha testers will be getting all the next updates automatically since it’s going to be the Steam version code.
Attention! Also, we feel like running a giveaway on December 22 in order to give 2 free alpha keys: 1 alpha key will be given away randomly among those who give a thumbs up or leave a comment ‘I want to be a Plutocracy alpha tester’ for this news, the next one will be given away among the Discord community who leave a comment like that.
We have great moderators so we want everyone being friendly in the chat.
On December 3 an alpha test thread will be created on the Discord community where’s going to invite the alpha testers.
According to your feedback, the devs team will be fixing some bugs or something like that and forth the early access will be released on Steam.
When’s going to happen?
As mentioned earlier, the alpha test will be run a month before the early access release on Steam
Seeing the end of the year and some Steam verifications, the most appropriate date for the early access release is February 7. As for the price, the early access price is $24.99, the full release price is $29.99.
When the early access is available on Steam, we’re going to drop the keys to everyone who backed us on IndieGoGo or pre-order Plutocracy. You can pre-order Plutocracy now for $14.99 if you haven’t made it yet. You need to use IndieGoGo by clicking the link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/plutocracy-a-pc-game-about-wealth-power#/

Alpha version progress
Hello, guys!
We are currently busy 24/7 trying to end the alpha-version of the game as soon as possible. That’s our main task! Thus, we cannot always respond to your messages on time because otherwise we'll spend development time to communicate with you.
But we see that we must keep you in the picture about the status of the game development, and be open for you hence we decided to release our own newspaper “Plutocracy News”.
We have put detailed info about the current tasks progress in the game development there. The newspaper contains categories that are large game layers where you can see smaller subtasks.
As Henry Ford said: “Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs”. In the development, we are also sticking to that idea!
We’re going to update the progress every week on Mondays. Therefore, you’ll be able to see everything on your own. You can watch our progress online.
Visit our newspaper's page to see at what stage we are: http://plutocracygame.com/alpha_progress
Stay tuned for more!
Wish us good luck and thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Redwood games team
Every action has a reaction: the killer ‘n’ bodyguard’s gameplay!
Greetings, friends!
Today, we feel like sharing with you some game development news that’s bringing to an end. As you know, we’ve already been working on the one for 2 years, and we do wanna bring it to the world:)
We don’t rush to show you the game’s footages, which neither you nor we will like, because we feel responsibility towards our fans and the product. Put another way, it’ll be impossible to size up game thoughts if the frontend doesn’t show all the backend stuff, crashes happen every 15 mins or you don’t get how to play it.
As you might have already guessed, that’s essential for us to get any feedback from you in order to find out your book about the game stuff. So sometimes, we’re trying to make an update for the community.
Well, here we go!
When diplomacy doesn’t work, then desperate measures are used. One such measure is the killer who ends a character by order of a player.
When can you use the killer correctly? There are the following game mechanics: your opponents will be able to blow up pipelines, dump the market, arrange different strikes in companies and so on.
As a result, you’ll be losing your money and won’t be able to achieve the goal of becoming the most powerful tycoon! You have a choice: make relationships with your opponents by giving gifts, arranging parties, helping to reach their ambition and over or to act brutally by ending ‘em, taking over the market.
You’ll be able to “get rid” of politicians who refuse to vote for the necessary law, remove officials from their posts by eliminating the sponsors.
Assassination attempt is a way of threat.
Imagine a game situation: you won all your opponents in the domestic market then you’re gonna expand the influence on international markets. You wanted to lobby the law of increasing import duties in order to achieve financial powerful. In this way, you’ll be able to go up prices and get extra income avoiding of competitive with international company-opponents.
Suddenly, some influential politician refused to give his voice to support the necessary law. You were trying to use the agent “Diplomat”, “Lobbyist”, spying though “Detective” or even arranging the meeting, offering the party funding but all these methods turned out useless….
So, you decided to get the goal by ambushing the house that was purchased in Philadelphia…
The success of the killer depends on his level: the more the killer’s level, the more the chance to destroy a target. If a target has own bodyguard, you’ll have less chance to sort out your problem. The more the bodyguard’s level, the more reliable a character’s safety.
If the killer does his job, he may be caught by the police hence your rep will go down (we mentioned that early). You can learn more here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/754500/announcements/detail/1670153182076784062
If the killer is fail, politicians will be scared, and it’ll be pretty hard for you in order to lobby the necessary law or a corrupt plan.
Defense from assassination attempt.
There may be a different situation in-game. For instance, a character decided to “get rid” of you or your agent. The consequences may be different: you can lose the necessary way of pressure on the game world or even your character can kick the bucket. If your character is dead, the heirs will take your wealth, if they are…(we’ll be implementing the clans as soon as the early access comes out on Steam).
So, you should hire a bodyguard to prevent bad consequences. You gotta pay him constantly to feel safe. It’s up to you: pay him or save your money.
This functionality has already been implemented. Also, there are a few agents (5-6) that’ll be impacting the game world (they’ll most likely be add into the alpha).
If you’re interested in ‘em, let us know about that. Or you’d like to not find out about all the game highlights? At any rate, let us know if there’s some doubt.
Stay tuned and follow the game development.
You can get in touch with us via email news@plutocracygame.com or discord https://discord.gg/3vPyAX8
Now, we’re bringing to an end of the alpha. Unfortunately, we pulled off the alpha/early release due to the reasons you know.
We’re a small indie studio that decided to take up the serious project, and we’ve been working on it for 2 years. We never give up! We’ll finish one! So, if you don’t get some news, it doesn’t’ mean we abandoned the project. We’re spending our energy in order to release the alpha as soon as possible.
Besides, we’re gonna launch the Workshop that you can give a hand to make the game balance or implement some mods.
Huge thanks to everyone who supports us!
Best regards,
Redwood games team

The role of bandits in the game.
Friends, we've almost done it! 2 days and $400 left to get the goal! Thanks so much for your help and support the project!
Today we'd like to tell you how a player is able to affect the game world "Plutocracy". An agent of influence is one of the key characters of the game. We wanna present to your attention a character who embodies the whole spirit of the wild west of the Gilded Age of America.
Well..this agent is "Bandit": "Give me your dough!"
"Bandit" is used by those players who wanna take risks and get their goals despite the consequences. "Bandit" is a criminal character so there will always be a risk of being got by the police and the whole justice system that we made in the game.
But if you're a tough guy and get used to playing hard without any rules, then you should use that radical agent. A character doesn't sell the shares, and you've run out of patience? Or some competing company starts building up its development? Stop talkin'! Use the agent!
Probably, everyone has heard about such famous bandits as Jesse James, Butch Cassidy or Sundance Kid.
At times they were a real threat to entire states by destroying businessmen who arrived to improve the wild west as well as the banks that they were robbing! We'd like to point out that all pragmatic capitalists of that time wanted to be a friend of this character....
We're incline believe that you have got a question: why are there a host of criminal agents in the game 'bout big business and politics? Just imagine that time ...it goes without saying for that "wild" time. In the game, every state has its own crime level so you should take it into account when making business.
Bandits need money and bandits can become a dangerous and influential weapon in a competitive struggle.
For instance, you'll be able to stick up the necessary company through the head of bandits to steal a company's revenue. That'll slow down the company development.
Playing big business, you can use different ways of competitive struggle. But the force way has always been the key method of a bandit to achieve his goal. If you like the spirit of the wild west, if you're an adherent of a tough decision, you'll be able to be a friend of this character.
But if you'd rather take the least risk, then you'll have other tools of influence....We'll tell you 'bout ones next time:) Follow the news and announcements.
If you wanna help us reach the goal, then share the campaign page with your friends via social networks. It might someone will wanna back us up by choosing one of the unique pledges that were made for IndieGoGo campaign. Just over $400 and 2 days left! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/plutocracy-a-pc-game-about-wealth-power-computers-software/x/18671801#/
Let's achieve the goal together! Not a big goal though:)
Thanks so much that you keep reading the updates and stay with us. We appreciate it
Best regards,

Fiery 90% of the goal and the agent of influence "Pyro"
Hello, friends!
We've collected 90% of the goal! That's the good news! Left just a little bit to implement our thoughts. Let's do it! We've 4 days left.
We're a real ball of fire when we see that we've almost achieved the campaign goal. So...today there will be a "fiery" update:)
We'd like to tell you about the next agent called "Pyro".
"Pyro" is a criminal character in the game, so when you use his services, you can be accused by the district attorney (if he's not your friend or you've not got a dirt on him). He's a powerful tool to struggle with opponents. You bought up a company's stake and gonna expand to get over more market share but your opponents put a spoke in your wheel? "Pyro" is a key of success!
In the game, the agent arranges sabotage in the opponent's company. If he's cautious, then the arson will be arranged but with a certain probability. The probability depends on the level of fire safety of the company and the security forces. You can set fire to oil pipelines and fields, undermine the railway tracks and a host of other buildings of different types of companies!
Fire destroys company assets. A company stops producing the required volume of products, and as a result, the market share gets free. That's your chance! Squeeze out your opponent!
Increase your capacity, produce more product and bring one to the market. Buy up the rest of your opponent cheaply and sell it at an auction or take it over by your company.
That's the agent "Pyro". There are lots of other charismatic characters who can help you achieve your goals. Sometimes they're legal, sometimes not quite.
Now we need your help to reach the campaign goal!
There is not much time left and only a little is left for the goal ...around $1500.
Share the campaign page through social networks, tell your friends, leave your comments on the campaign page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/plutocracy-a-pc-game-about-wealth-power-computers-software/reft/18671801/steam
Thanks a lot that you help us come true our dream!
Best regards,
Redwood games team
Characters’ features in Plutocracy
Hello, friends!
We've got over a mark of 75% of the campaign goal and in honor of it, we give a gift once again! You can download a free 4k over here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1E5qubYi6PZMt4STH7QIfCPHpJHD1UPeg
Today we want to tell you a little how the game diplomacy is arranged as well as how a player will be able to interact with the characters.
Every character has got unique features that look like duality. We live in a world where there's good and evil, light and dark. So, we want to put forward that idea through the character's features and beliefs.
Every feature affects the gameplay. For instance, the feature "slow or resolute" affects the speed of decisions making on a deal. The time is an essential resource like in our life.
So, the character who has the "slow" feature will be slowin' you down and "resolute" one will be savin' your time. If you need to make a deal with a governor to get some government contract but he's "the slowest" in the universe of Plutocracy, so you'll get a hard choice: either spend your time or invest one in other stuff.
The feature "reliable or insidious" will make an additional danger for the player in the form of intrigues from a character. For example, you made an agreement with some character to start up a new company or lobby a law but he's got the feature "insidious", so your agreement may be broken. He can stab you in the back at the most inappropriate moment...
Every duality has a power scale. The closer the duality measure to the positive mark, the deeper that feature will be feeling in the character. All in all, we've made more than 10 dualities where every of the ones has 10 marks. It means that completely the same characters are possible only in the case of 1 out of 10 billion!
Someone of the characters will be tolerant of racial or religious affiliation, and someone will get your enemy 'cause you lobbied for a law giving more rights to immigrants, women and black people.
All the options make the character unique. The player possesses of the ones, too. All these options overlap and intersect. As a result, there's a relationship between the characters and the player.
Make good relationships with influential characters and open up a world of unlimited opportunities. If connections are everything, then choose the necessary friends by making 'em as allies to struggle for financial power. Common interests, beliefs and points of view will give a hand to you to make friends.
If you're in the interests of the Democrats and kill time by playin' golf, you'll be able to make good relationships with the characters who have the same interests and political beliefs like you. But if you start makin' with members of the Republican Party, then the Democrats will get away from you.
There's nothing permanent - in the game, everything flows, everything changes makin' to trim the sails to the wind catching all the nuances and supporting relationships with the necessary characters.
You should constantly maneuver between different interests and people groups by manipulatin' their needs and values like a real eminence grise to give a success. In that world that's almost impossible not to make enemies - the diplomacy system of the game challenges each hard-headed player!
In Plutocracy, the diplomacy ain't something mediocre and insignificant - in fact, that's the key to many secret doors of the economic and political world that we create. Not having one will be extremely difficult to win!
This diplomacy system is most accurately simulates the characters relationships in our book. What do you make of that? Will it be playable and interesting? Leave your thoughts on the campaign page, discussions on Steam and social networks.
Friends, we'd like to remind you can back up our project if you didn't make it. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/plutocracy-a-pc-game-about-wealth-power-computers-software/reft/18671801/steam
We only have a little time left for that. Stay with us and develop your diplomacy skills in the game Plutocracy!
