Poly Racing's Team has grown a bit, so there will be even more fun stuff soon, and we'll be releasing a roadmap soon of the massive features we want to add, like career mode and multiplayer, and we will also be discussing Steam Deck compatibility and Unreal Engine 5 with our players over on our Discord server today! You'll also be seeing the Steam store page art and graphics change to reflect the new look.
Discord!
Hey y'all! We are hard at work on the new version of Poly Racing, with some exciting features to come, soon we will be announcing those. In the meantime, we have created a discord server for us to hang out! Here is the link: https://discord.gg/nhkx5D8R
Poly Racing Overhaul!
Poly Racing is being completely overhauled, and with a new focus on racing karts! After some thought and the realization that there isn't anything special about Poly Racing, we've switched it to karts, and with much more! We are adding multiplayer, full races with AI karts, pit lanes with new tires/refueling available, and you start from racing basic go karts down a neighborhood track. We have been waiting a while and spent much time on the drawing board, and we're excited to share these new updates with you.
This coming Saturday, February 5th 2022, you will see a very early build (features missing/incomplete) of the new Poly Racing as an update for you, and if you don't like it, the current Poly Racing will be up on another branch. You will also soon see the library/store page marketing and branding change to reflect this complete game overhaul. See you out on the track!
Bigger Maps!
We've been working hard for a while on some different aspects of Poly Racing, and were happy to release some new big maps to explore! In this update there are two new maps as well as some performance gains.
New stuff:
2 New Maps
Performance Improvements
We have some big things coming for Poly Racing, and are really excited to share them with you in the near future!
Manual Transmissions!
There are now manual transmissions in Poly Racing! Well, technically they are sequential, but now you have control over the transmission. The cars used to just have one gear, but now they have 5. This means that they have a much, much higher top speed. You might ask, where to use this newfangled "speed". Well, this means that there will be larger maps coming next update! Manual mode is enabled by default as the automatic logic is pretty stupid with the small tracks, but feel free to turn it off anytime. The shift up/down controls are also configurable.
