This update see's the Introduction of the first stage of the Pool Hall, a living online pool experience, bringing digital pool to life...

The Pool Hall Menu

The Pool Hall is much more than an online menu. This is the online hub where all online matches are displayed, joined, created and edited in one place. Live updates of the table state are displayed, so this menu itself feels alive.

This is only the first stage of the pool hall experience, soon you will be able to spectate matches, join in group chat, play winner stays on and more.

A New way to create a match

Pool Nation FX STEAM Vs Xbox One?

So people keep asking - what's the difference between the Steam Version and the Xbox One version of Pool Nation FX...??

We know the difference between Pool Nation and the FX version (see my previous annoucment) so its a Good question! ːsteamhappyː

Firstly we received some great feedback from the 3 million downloads on Xbox One, so Steam in terms of the main game is further ahead in development than the current Xbox one version. We haven't stopped working on Pool Nation FX since its debut in April and will continue to long after its launch today on Steam.

*To confirm before I start the comparison I will confirm that Xbox will get the Steam updates also!

<*>Smaller file size on STEAM is 2.2GB
<*>Pool Nation FX loads quickly and smoothly at launch and in game
<*>Its smoother and more polished, due to the extra development time spent on the project, we have also updated the cameras to make it smoother.
<*>Massive improvements to the difficulty levels of the AI.
<*>Overhaul of the Snooker AI, to ensure they are playing to snooker rules
<*>The NEW collection is in - and collecting is fun: You compete to win, raise your profile and also your in game bank balance, but where do you spend it? There are cues, balls, decals, celebrations, locations and trickshot objects to spend your hard earned cash on. Your collection is yours to use, and there is a one stop shop in game to see what you've unlocked and what’s left to collect.
<*>Endurance achievements have been made easier, they are now 3mins, 6mins, 9mins and 12mins so the time to hit is shorter and more achievable
<*>Manual drop-stop has been implemented in Endurance so you control when the drop stop happens or auto drop-stop can be selected
<*>A new Endurance HUD now clearly shows when the next ball drops.
<*>Characters in game to add atmosphere
<*>All new TV screens in all locations to add life to to the venues
<*>Crowd sounds controlled by a slider
<*>Quicker to find online matches on Steam
      <*>General reported bug fixes.
<*>Change game type in Practice - 8Ball, 9Ball and Snooker
<*>Will also include the new Early Access features; the all new social hub of activity - the 'Pool Hall' the most exciting virtual Pool Hall you will find in a pool game. Leaderboards and workshop integration all coming soon to this early access version.

Although Pool Nation FX on Steam addresses all of the main issues raised on Xbox one at launch and thereafter, it is in Early access for one main reason, the Pool Hall! This a social Mecca for billiards fans, and will be the most exciting social experience to hit a pool game - ever. It brings pool to life! We want to utilise the Steam forums to build this Pool Hall with you, hence the need for early access. The plan is to launch in three main stages:

Stage 1: introducing the pool hall and spectating matches live online
Stage 2: Live information on current games in progress - Game state updates to give life to the pool hall experience
Stage 3: Expanding the social experience - Winner stays on, bigger lobby's more people

So as you can see we have far from finished with Pool Nation FX, its a great game that's about to get better!

*All updates to Pool Nation FX listed above are in test for Xbox One - the submission process for Xbox updates is a much longer process, hence why it is coming to Steam first. I just want to stress this as Xbox One hasn't been forgotten it just takes slightly longer to get to the same stage :)

      Pool Nation FX is coming....

Welcome to the world of Pool Nation FX, you are a Trainee with your whole Pool Career ahead of you; and with just $2000 in your pocket you must play, compete and win to climb the ranks and earn the money required to compete in the big leagues. Starting out at the bottom isn’t easy, but you will learn the necessary skills required to become the Pool King along the way. Every match is training towards your end goal, every coin earned helps you unlock your true potential and a lot of collectable items to parade along the way.

God speed gamer, the journey may be long, but the cause is just.

Below are just some of the new additions coming to Pool Nation FX at launch on Early Access next week:

      Snooker Career:
The all new Snooker Career, much like the new Pool Career, spans 6 stages, across 6 countries, starting in Hawaii and ending in New York as you battle it out to be crowned champion of the Pool Nation FX Snooker Championship. Every player must complete the qualifying matches to be entered into round one of each stage of the career; there you will receive your fixtures for that round, to continue you must win your match. The prize fund available depends on the difficulty level you set your challenge at, the harder the challenge the higher the stake.

      Snooker Offline & Online:
Snooker, the sport of kings, is not just available in a Career you can play online, offline, for coins or just for fun.

      Customise your Rules:
In Pool Nation FX you can ‘play it your way’ by that we mean you can customise your rule sets. Starting with a base rule set, including but not limited to: 8 Ball, 9 Ball, Killer, Speed, Snooker, 3 Ball, you can then amend the standard rules to suit your style, for example; to add a foul on Jump shots, no free ball, two shot carry… however you play pool you can play it your way in Pool Nation FX.

      Online Leagues:
The Online Leagues are a great addition to the upcoming Pool Hall experience of Pool Nation FX. Here you all enter at the same level; starting at League 10 and working up to League 1. You are awarded points for wins and nothing for a loss. To get promoted to the next level you must reach the points required in that League, within a designated number of matches, as you climb the ladder it will require more points to get promoted. But be warned Play with Skill for fear of relegation.

      Play for Cash
This coin based game, is quick and fun, you search for the game time and the prize fund up for grabs, both players enter the match with the same prize fund which then goes into the pot – winner takes all! Prizes range from $25 to $100,000, however the higher levels are locked until you are worthy to play in the big leagues, to prove your worth just get your player level up.

      Player level and XP Points:
Also new to Pool Nation FX is the notion that you are starting out in your pool career with the aim to become a pro. Every Player starts out at Trainee Level 1 with the intention of rising through the ranks to Pool King Level 100; to level up you just have to play the game to earn XP points. Each match is awarded with XP if you win you get more than if you lose.

      Daily Challenge & Trickshot Challenge:
The idea behind this is that you are rewarded for coming back to play with the opportunity to win free coins! There are two daily challenges available which unlock every 24 hours. The first is a game of 3 ball, you get 4 shots and 3 balls, pot all 3 to win the full prize fund available, the prize fund varies daily but can be up to $1,000,000! The second is a trickshot challenge, you will be faced with a designated number of balls to pot, number of objects to use and a points total to reach, and once you have achieved the relevant targets the challenge is complete. Points are awarded for using objects and potting balls, the more you use the bigger the multipliers, and points mean prizes -the more points you earn the higher your prize fund will be.
      Collecting is fun:

You compete to win, raise your profile and also your in game bank balance, but where do you spend it? There are cues, balls, decals, celebrations, locations and trickshot objects to spend your hard earned cash on. Your collection is yours to use, and there is a one stop shop in game to see what you’ve unlocked and what’s left to collect.

…and there is more to come!
Pool Nation FX coming to Early Access 28th September 2015
