2.3.2 is out, fixing a game-breaking bug!
Hey everyone,
Small update here called 2.3.2. It fixes two things: 1. There was a bug where attacking Blackrabbit would not trigger the cutscene/jumpscare. This should be sorted now. 2. The replay-cutscene buttons would be disabled when starting a new game and then restarting the exe. They should stay no matter what now.
That's it!

Another update is live for POPGOES Arcade!
Firstly, a lot of players in non-English-speaking countries, namely Russia and Poland, were experiencing game-breaking bugs such as the game literally never saving. We BELIEVE that this is now fixed. If you were suffering from these issues, please let us know if this was fixed in the current version!
General fixes/additions:
ESC menu has been reworked entirely as a settings menu, and now has its own save file.
Speeding up dialogue has been reworked so that holding space immediately speeds up the next text box.
The first sign in The Dead Forest now just says "TIP" in its overworld sprite, to be extra super duper clear about it.
The note on the bed in the Inn now lets the player know that the Bestiary doesn't contribute to completion until The Machinist.
The Dead Forest fixes/additions:
LATE-GAME SPOILER: When we increased the speed of battles, the Jump and Dig battle abilities were somehow not affected. Fixed.
LATE-GAME SPOILER: The Jukebox is now available at every inn once it's unlocked. BB's dialogue has been adjusted accordingly.
SECRET ENDING SPOILER: Fixed the issue where "shadow world" objectives would remain in the items/objective menu even after deactivating the bird bath.
SECRET ENDING SPOILER: The clippable wall in the castle is now much more obvious, with a slight twitching/glitch animation.
The Machinist fixes/additions:
The Robo-BB barricades can now be interacted with before defeating the Machinist to give a hint that they can be used later.
Collecting a keycard wouldn't update the objective until you escaped the cave or encountered a battle. It now changes as soon as the miniboss defeat dialogue ends.
LATE-GAME SPOILER: When revisiting the South Forest after defeating Pristine Bonnie, the ground will sometimes "shake" to hint at The Mangle.
SECRET ENDING SPOILER: Torches and water will be static in the North Forest/Castle when revisiting it in the "somewhere you shouldn't be" state.
This is our attempt at cleaning up EVERYTHING in preparation for the mobile and console ports. Hopefully we've caught everything, but let us know if you spot any new bugs. Thanks!

The third major update for POPGOES Arcade on Steam is here, and it's probably the biggest one yet! 2.3.0 features plenty of bug fixes, optimisations, and BRAND NEW FEATURES!
Major changes:
BB Ability Overhaul - Super Speed, previously the second reward, is now the first reward given by BB. As a result, Crit Boost is gone, and 10% is now the default crit chance (was 5% until you got Crit Boost). The second reward is brand new: Money Boots, a perk that will give you 5 coins for every 10 seconds you walk in the overworld. Anywhere. Forever. Enjoy!
Faster Battles - Battles are now faster. As in they are, literally, faster. Quicker animations, fewer delays. We took the feedback that grinding was a little too tedious, and according to tests, this is a huge improvement.
Power Surges - People seemed to really like Corruption Hotspots, those red clouds that appear in the second half of The Dead Forest to help with grinding. So we added an equivalent for The Machinist. When you beat a Robot miniboss, a Power Surge will appear in the respective cave. It won't move around though. Should help with filling in The Index!
Game balance/features:
Enemy encounter rates in Corruption Hotspots (and Power Surges) are now even higher
Every song in the Jukebox is now 40 coins, making the total 640 (was originally 770, comprised of varying values)
Every Gilded item in the shop, in The Machinist, is now 50 coins, making the total 350 at max (was 700 at max).
Robot stun attacks will now paralyse the Escape ability
The Machinist endgame spoiler:Due to faster battles, The Machinist's laser pillar attack has been buffed
Changes/Optimisations:
The game will now remember whether you prefer windowed or fullscreen
Sped up Shield expiration animation
BB will now mention the Corruption Hotspots during his introductory dialogue
Sara's final dialogue will now mention that she will give something to Popgoes if he returns to her later
The Dead Forest secret ending spoiler:The clippable castle wall is now visibly fixed as soon as Bonnie is saved from the arcade cabinet
Fixes:
There is now an objective for finding the remaining door keys, after you save the East Forest, if you haven't found them yet
Reflected damage from Spiky Shield is no longer decreased by the player's DEF+
Gilded Dead Deer's idle animation has been fixed
Fixed the Secret Boss's death dialogue missing a period
The Machinist endgame spoiler:Fixed The Machinist's threshold for summoning Prototype Manora not being triggered by Spiky Shield self-damage
The Machinist endgame spoiler:Gilded Popgoes is now given at 200% instead of 100%

The POPGOES Arcade Original Game Soundtrack is now available to purchase on Steam! You can find it on the POPGOES Arcade game/store page, or you can click this link.
The soundtrack is also available on major streaming services like Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, etc. And now that it's available on Steam, I'll also work on some YouTube videos for the tracks that still haven't been shared on that platform.
Development on the 2.3.0 update is wrapping up now, with some hardcore testing happening behind the scenes. Shouldn't be long now before it is released!

Free version / "demo" removed from page
Hi guys,
I'm making this post to let you all know that I've decided to remove the demo of POPGOES Arcade from the Steam page, as I felt it was misleading to newcomers. As most of you already know, it was never actually a custom-made "demo", but was rather just the free version of POPGOES Arcade that we originally released in 2020 on a different website/platform.
There are a few reasons for this, but most of it chalks up to the fact that it's not a very good representation of our paid product anymore. Not only does it lack a lot of the premium features (like paints, The Bestiary, the bedroom, etc) but it is also a downright poorer version of The Dead Forest. This is made even more obvious with the changes we will be integrating into the upcoming 2.3 update.
Ignoring the obvious addition of an entire sequel campaign, soon the paid version of POPGOES Arcade will have all of these OVER the free version:
40 Steam achievements
Significantly faster battles
Better BB upgrades
Corruption hotspots (faster enemy encounters)
Controller support
Various bug fixes and optimisations
With all of this in mind, we feel that the free version may actually put some people off from buying the paid version in ways that we have already addressed in updates we have worked on. Make sense?
When we are completely done with the game, we may work on a new free demo that provides a snippet of the premium experience, rather than a large but very outdated version of the game. In the meantime, if you already downloaded the free version on Steam, it should still be in your library. And if you never got the chance, you can find it on the original website we uploaded it, but please bear in mind that it is not a good representation of the paid version here on Steam anymore.

After a tricky process, we now have POPGOES Arcade items live on the Steam Points Shop! Spend your points on cool accessories and items for your Steam profile and more.
Lastly, we are continuing our work on the next update for POPGOES Arcade, which will be 2.3.0. This is a big update with major changes, improvements, and additions. It will include faster battles, a robotic equivalent of the Corruption Hotspots, and some major changes to BB's upgrades. This update requires a lot of work and a lot of testing, so please continue to be patient. It should be out later this month.

POPGOES ARCADE STEAM TRADING CARDS NOW OUT!

In an unexpected turn of events, POPGOES Arcade was made eligible for Steam Trading Cards... and they are now out!
There are 6 cards in total, and you should get up to 3 automatically by simply playing the game. 2 hours of playtime is equal to one free card, roughly.
Trading cards come with badges (which you can craft after collecting all 6 cards), profile backgrounds, and emoticons.
GO, COLLECT THE CARDS! Share the game with your friends, trade the stuff you unlock, and let's see who can get a Level 5 badge first!

2.2.1 is out! Fixes the no-save issue, and other stuff
The Dead Forest and general fixes/additions:
MAJOR: Fixed the issue where the game would not generate a save file + folder upon first boot-up of the game.
MID-GAME SPOILER: The Escape button now has a button prompt for keyboard. 2.2.0 added a prompt but only for controller for some reason!
The Machinist fixes/additions:
200% SPOILER: Fixed the issue where Gilded Popgoes wouldn't be preserved upon New Game unless you had him equipped. Now he will be preserved no matter what. Hopefully! A big apology to anyone who lost their Gilded Popgoes when New Gameing in 2.2.0.
