PositronX - 2019 Roadmap

Today we have something very exciting to share with you. Below you will find our official roadmap for year 2019. Do keep in mind that some things may change over the course of the development, but at the same time you can look at this schedule as a sort of indicator of where we’re going with the game.

We started off with our recent Spring update that brought with it 4 enemy types and brand new stage to fight on.

Summer 2019


The next update will happen this summer and it’ll bring the Disc Gun for you to spin the party with as well as a truckload of new and crazy abilities. To top it all off, you can count on more imprints and challenging achievements.

Autumn 2019


Will feature an even greater number of brand new additions. This fall you’ll be able to test two guns (including incredibly fun Time Gun) against powerful Chargers on Machine Core stage. All this can be used with one of three new characters. And don’t forget about more imprints and abilities!

Winter 2019


We’ll close this year with winter update - and it’ll be the biggest one yet. New stage, more guns, more enemies, more abilities, more imprints, more characters, more achievements, everything that your hearts desire.

Machine Factory stage, four new Enemies and more performance optimizations!

Hello, Machine Warriors!

It's been some time since the release of the previous update and believe us when we say that it was time well spent! This time we've got something extremally exciting for you - a new playable stage in the form of machine factory drowned in smoke and heat. There are also four new enemies joining the roster for you to disintegrate!



Additionally, the Machine Factory Update will bring a lot of improvements to optimization, almost every system in the game, as well as new original soundtrack pieces and tons of bug fixes.

This release is the first step into our new roadmap, but more on that will be revealed soon. Stay tuned!

*** Known issue ***

Rarely, when switching between 2 weapons, the hands/weapon will disappear. If this happens exit the game to main menu and then choose play and Continue (the game already saved the progression to current room so you will always restart from where you were).

Key features in Machine Factory Update:

  • New stage - Machine Factory
  • New Enemy - Slicer (2 blade enemy that can kill you in one hit)
  • New Enemy - Blade Runner (small but fast enemy, very dangerous in groups)
  • New Enemy - Daemon (heavy enemy, impervious to time manipulation)
  • New Boss - Tripod (3 legged robot that delivers a mighty melee attack)
  • Max FOV of 130 (+ constant FOV for weapon and FPS hands)
  • Optimizations on both loading time and rendering performance. The game should run 20% better and loading times should have decreased to normal times.
  • Fine grained performance options (Shadows, Textures, Antialiasing, Post processing, Effects)

New Weapon : Nail Gun, Faster playable characters, 25 new Imprints and lots of Optimizations

Version 0.7.9 is out now. This release focuses on optimizations as well as expanding the options and fine tuning characters. The speed of playable characters increased by 20% for an even more dynamic gameplay, new weapon added : Nail Gun and set as the starting weapon for our newest character, Atom.
We also spent quite a while on optimizing the rendering performance in maps with outside environment as well as resource loading while completely revamping the Enforcer and Heavy Enforcer characters and Soliders animations.



Key points in this release are:
- Faster speed of movement for all playable characters
- Teleporting now works from anywhere in the room once you cleared it (don't have to go to the teleporter to move to a new room)
- New weapon : Nail Gun (starting weapon for our newest character, Atom)
- Enforcer and Heavy Enforcer characters completely revamped
- Animations for Soldier characters revamped, Advanced Soldier walking speed decreased
- 25 new Imprints that affect gameplay in ways we haven't before
- Crafting Imprints and Crafting Weapons terminals added
- Optimizations on rendering performance and resource loading

New character : Atom, Open Area outside environment, More playable-extended maps, Revamped music, More Implants

Version 0.7.8 is out! This has been a wild ride but we took our time to improve the game in almost every aspect. Open area outside graphics theme, more and extended maps, Stage1 graphics and lighting greatly improved, new Implants and one new playable Character : Atom.
Our focus has been to heighten the initial impression with the game but also to make everything more interesting and fun for people already playing the game.


Key points in this release are:
- New open area theme and new maps added
- New character : Atom (technical character, defenders manipulation specialist)
- More Implants and thus more combinations possible
- Stage 1 lighting and graphics improved, maps extended
- Music revamped completely (we removed the current theme with a more industrial/rock dynamic approach)
- Each character has 3 starting perks now instead of one
- Hard Reset game mode changed
- Jump pads

Hidden Levels, Weapon Pickups, Timed and Special Stage Rewards - PositronX 0.7.7 Update

Version 0.7.7 is out now. Not too long overdue, 0.7.6 wasn't worthy of release as it was, so we took a little longer to make sure everything that has been added in is solid and fun.



Key points in this release are (a bit spoilery):
- Hidden Levels
- Weapon Pickups and Bonuses
- Timed Rewards
- Special Stage Rewards
- Player Permanent Bonuses

Additionally, we are working on Stage 3, new enemies and new music for the game.

Tutorial, All maps redesigned, Zero G Fields, Redefine-able input for keyboard/controller - PositronX 0.7.5 Update



We have skipped a version (from 0.7.3 to 0.7.5) because of the amount of changes we've done this month. Version 0.7.4. was somewhere in between and it didn't make sense to release it as a standalone version.

Keypoints


As part of our efforts in easing new users into playing the game we have implemented a basic tutorial which should address that for new players. Also we have redefine-able keyboard and controller input.
Our main bulk of work has been spent on improving on every map in the game, changed completely the graphical theme for the first stage and improved and updated part of the theme for stage 2 and redesigning all maps at the same time. There are more details, decals and coherency in color theme for maps in both stages. We also started on adding support for Spatial Anomalies, the first one being a Zero G Field. Plus, tons of adjustments and fixes to the game.



All of our resources are going towards having Stage3 asap in the application, playable and fun.

Streamlining fighting experience - PositronX 0.7.3 Update

This update focuses on streamlining the fighting experience of PositronX. Enemies are easier to kill now but health and ammunition are scarce. Also Implant's cooldowns only update while in combat.
We had to postpone rebind keys/full controller support in UI for a later update.

Game+, Local Leaderboards, Basic Controller support coming in 0.7.2 PositronX Update

We just released out second update since Early Access Release two weeks ago and we've made some major advancements in features we wanted to support 'asap' when E.A. started as well as added new features people playing the game asked for.

Keep playing the game on higher difficulty levels with the same character

Local Leaderboards

Measure how well they've played against previous best scores

Controller support

Play with a controller (basic support, will complete in the next update)

No crosshair option

For veterans and courageous people as well

First Update after Early Access release (0.7.1)

PositronX releases today April 27th, as an Early Access title!

After two and a half years in development PositronX is released today, April 27th, as an Early Access title.



We wish to thank everybody who played the closed Alpha version and helped us shape the game to the version we have today. Starting tomorrow everybody can experience the rogue-lite First Person Shooter experience of PositronX.
