Post Trauma

Post Trauma is delayed until 2025!

Hey everyone,

We’ve been so delighted to see the response to Post Trauma and we cannot wait to get the game in your hands, but we do have some unfortunate news to share about release.

We're so sorry to announce that Post Trauma will no longer make its intended October 29th launch date. These decisions are never made lightly and we understand any disappointment.

Sadly, we don’t think the game is in the state it deserves to be just yet, and we want to ensure the first experience players have with Post Trauma is a special one.

Among other things, we need to tweak the difficulty curve, as well as polish the game and fix bugs and we prefer not to use post release patches to add things we feel should have been available on release.

We are also working hard to make sure the console versions are as good as the PC experience and vice versa, but as a small team this presents many challenges. Our goal has always been to make a game that meets high quality standards and provides players with a lasting, unnerving experience that will make the hair stand up on your arms.

Thank you for your understanding and patience, but also for your support and enthusiasm for Post Trauma. With a little extra time and attention we can bring you the game you deserve in 2025

August 2024 Update: Release Date, New Music and Fantastic Games

Hello!

In case you missed the big news last week, we've announced our release date! Post Trauma will officially launch on Steam on October 29th 2024, just in time for Halloween!

This is an enormous moment for us and one we're incredibly excited about. There's still a lot of work to do between now and then, of course, but it won't be too much longer before you're able to play Post Trauma for yourselves!

In our latest trailer, you get a new look at the Metro Station, an area that will be familiar to those who played the original demo on Itch. As you can see, it's come a long way since then but that's just the start.

You'll also get a look at some of the creatures you'll face, areas you'll visit and other characters you'll meet. We'll talk more about all of that in the coming weeks between now and release.

Perhaps the biggest thing you'll have noticed is the title track for Post Trauma, composed by Nicolas Gasparini (Myuu) playing in the background. We're all thrilled you're now getting a chance to hear the music for Post Trauma and it's but a taste of what to expect when the full game rolls around.

Fantastic Games 2024

As if that's not enough, it's just been announced that we'll be at Fantastic Games 2024 this September. In this first ever event, the sickest and most spine-tingling upcoming sci-fi, horror and fantasy indie games will be showcased in Austin, Texas, presented by Day of the Devs!

From September 20th till September 22nd, players will be able to check out Post Trauma alongside some other fantastic horror titles in an event sponsored by the likes of Blumhouse Games, Devolver and Raw Fury.

It's an incredible opportunity and we're so grateful for the chance to connect with the community, but are even more excited for new players to dive into Post Trauma.

And that's not all! Stay tuned, as we've got a lot more to talk about in the weeks and months ahead, so make sure to Wishlist Post Trauma and tell your friends to do the same!

See you in the Gloom.

May 2024 Update: Release Window Adjustment and more!

Hello there!

It’s been a while, hope everyone is doing well! As you may have recently seen, we were featured during the Guerilla Collective with an all-new trailer for Post Trauma! And in case you missed it, you can watch it here!

You may have noticed our release window has changed. We were originally targeting Spring 2024 but as development progressed, we realised we needed a bit more time to make Post Trauma the best game it can be so we’ll now be launching Fall 2024. I trust you will understand and can forgive us for the short delay! 💔

Hopefully you can already see the progress from our latest trailer which includes a look at some cutscenes, as well as updates to character likeness, game mood, lighting effects, and more.

The trailer also shows off the voice acting talent in the game for the first time, including Togo Igawa as Roman, but also the brilliant Autumn Ivy and Hyoie O’Grady. We’re excited to share more about the cast of Post Trauma in future updates, but let’s just say Roman isn’t the only one trying to survive in this terrifying, twisted place.

You may have also seen that we announced some additional platforms for Post Trauma. We’re really excited to be able to invite more players into The Gloom and we will share more news about this in the coming weeks.

Speaking of, some members of the press were able to get new hands on with Post Trauma at a recent press event in the Raw Fury offices. And we’ve seen some amazing coverage from the likes of Eurogamer and PCGamesN, and it seems they really liked the game!. We’re so delighted to see the response and grateful for the kind words.🖤

I want to thank you again for your patience and continued support of Post Trauma, we appreciate each and every one of you. You definitely won’t have to wait so long for an update from us as there’s a lot more to come in the next few months. Keep speculating on the trailer, let us know what you think about the progress, and be sure to wishlist us, share and shout about the game as much as you can. It helps massively.

Have a wonderful day!

August 2023 update : Release window announcement and more!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are doing great. I am doing super great! We just got featured on the Gamescom Opening Night Live, this is the second time Geoff Keighley has given us the chance to share Post Trauma with the world I can can't say thank you for it enough times.

Thank you to all the people that have been there from the beginning, thank you to the people that got here from the Game Awards and thank you to all the new people that just got here! Please remember to wishlist the game if you can, it's a free and easy way to help us out!

There's a lot of stuff I want to talk about, so I'll start with this. What did you think of the trailer?! I really hope you liked it, we tried to tease a lot of stuff without spoiling anything from the story. Where's Roman? What are those creatures? Is that the same spider lady from the original demo? And who is that woman on the speaker?!? I know all the answers but you will have to wait until the game's out .

And speaking of when the game is out... We just announced that the game will come out SPRING 2024! That might sound super far away but trust me, in game development it's just the blink of an eye. Though the team has grown a little since the last time, we are still suuuper small, so a lot of those extra hands will be working to make sure the quality of the final game will be awesome.

This week at Gamescom journalists will be able to get a glimpse of the game, it's the first time we are letting several people try the game this way since we released the original demo, so I can't wait to read what they think! I hope they will enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I really don't know what else to say besides THANK YOU for supporting the game and making the dream of this indie dev become true!

I hope you have a great day and I will see you all in The Gloom.

December 2022 update - Partnership announcement & more

Okay, I have a lot of things to tell you, A lot!! And I don't know where to start so I guess I'll start by thanking you.

Thank you!! Thank you everyone for your patience with me!

I can finally tell you that a few months ago I founded an indie studio named Red Soul Games and for the past few months we have been working with Raw Fury on Post Trauma.

This is wonderful news for the development of the game, but I want to make it clear that working with Raw Fury won't make Post Trauma a bigger game than the one I had in mind when I released the demo. It means that the game will receive a lot more love..

Thanks to RF I can now have a lot of things that I couldn't take care of on my own or that a publisher does better than me. It also allows me to bring new people to the team like for example Pau Pujadas, who is helping me A LOT with the art of the game.

I apologize for the lack of updates so far, I have been focusing 100% on the development of the game and I must confess that interacting on social networks gives me some anxiety, sorry if I missed some DMs! I would like to introduce you to Elena, Alexandre and Gemma, who will help me a bit with PR, marketing and social networks. I will still be there! But with their help, I will be allowed to focus on the game as well as keeping you updated on how the development is going.

For now I can confirm that the game will be released on consoles as well as PC, it was always the intention but now I have help to make it happen! I will share more information about that soon.

In case some of you don't know what this is all about, it's because yesterday we announced Post Trauma at The Game Awards, thanks to Geoff Keighley and the team behind The Game Awards for giving me the opportunity to share Post Trauma with a lot of new people. Go watch the announcement trailer if you haven't! LINK

I honestly don't know what to say, I'm still afraid to wake up one day and realize I was dreaming. A little over a year ago I left a stable job to dedicate myself completely to a demo and now I can live from it? Impossible, this must be a lucid dream.

Many thanks to HorrorVisuals, and especially to all of you who shared the Post Trauma Demo with the world, without you this would not have been possible. <3

And to all of you who have just met Post Trauma, WELCOME!

Have a wonderful day!

A Change is Coming

Hello everyone!

Almost a year ago I shared with you all a demo for Post Trauma. The reception it got was incredible, much more than I expected, which made me very happy. That said, I want to share that at the end of this weekend’s Steam Scream Fest, Post Trauma’s demo will no longer be available on Steam. This is good news, don't panic! I'll explain why below.

I made the demo in a very short period of time, and in order to have something playable, I used a lot of programming tricks. I don't regret doing it this way. The idea was to release a demo that would show the potential of the game I had in mind and see if people would be interested in playing something like this. And you have proved that it is.

During the last year I have continued working on Post Trauma every day. The whole game has been remade in Unreal Engine 5, so updating this demo is not a viable option as a single developer. The quality of the game as of today is far superior to what you see in the demo and I am very proud of what Post Trauma has become.

So, why am I going to disable the demo on Steam?
Simply put, the reason is marketing. I have very good news that I will share soon, but for now what I will tell you is that as more people are introduced to Post Trauma, I want them to see the game in its best state. The demo is very good as a concept, but it has shortcomings that new players may assume represent the final game experience.

To close this post I will say: to those of you who want to replay the demo, don't fear. After it’s removed from Steam on Tuesday, Nov 1, the demo will still be available on itch.io and I promise to bring you a new and better demo in the future.

Thank you very much for your support!
Roberto
